Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Copying with the Two Tomoe Sharingan

The evolution of the Sharingan is not achieved overnight; every increase in the number of tomoe represents a qualitative change in Ocular Power.

The Single Tomoe Sharingan is the initial form of this Bloodline Eye.

Its core ability lies in "Insight," which essentially allows for the clear observation of the flow trajectory of the target's chakra. Relying on this Insight, Rin could see through the subtle flaws in Taijutsu attacks and even capture the afterimages of Finger Seals during the casting of low-level Ninjutsu, seizing the initiative in battle.

The Double Tomoe Sharingan is a leap forward built upon the Single Tomoe foundation.

After the Ocular Power is enhanced, not only is the Insight ability more precise, but the rudimentary form of "Copy" is also unlocked, allowing the user to fully record the direction of chakra flow within the enemy when they launch an attack, and even the sequence of Ninjutsu Finger Seals. By imitating these through their own chakra, they can turn these Taijutsu and Ninjutsu into their own use.

The Three Tomoe Sharingan, as the peak form of the standard Sharingan, possesses mature Ocular Power.

Besides the enhanced Insight and Copy abilities, it can also recognize and reflect low-level Genjutsu, making it a versatile Ocular Technique that integrates offense and defense.

But the challenge Rin faced now was far beyond the conventional: he wasn't trying to Copy Ninjutsu, but the Cursed Techniques unique to this world.

If he wanted to Copy the Long-Haired Cursed Spirit's Cursed Technique, he had to use his Sharingan to fully observe the entire process of its Cursed Energy flow the next time the opponent activated its Cursed Technique.

But this was by no means easy.

First, his Sharingan was fundamentally not a product of this world; the difference between the chakra system and the Cursed Energy system was like two parallel rivers, and whether they could converge was still unknown. Second, the activation logic of Cursed Techniques is entirely different from Ninjutsu; there are no fixed Finger Seal patterns, relying entirely on the Cursed Spirit's own Cursed Energy Manipulation, making observation exponentially more difficult.

Whether he could succeed, he could only take a gamble.

Rin clenched his fists. Fighting Cursed Spirits was never child's play; the slightest mistake meant death, but a brand new Cursed Technique was too important to him. If he successfully copied the Long-Haired Cursed Spirit's ability, he would have a deadly trump card when facing other Cursed Spirits in the future, and his combat efficiency would be doubled.

In the dark corner of the corridor, Miguel's gaze remained locked on the blood-red eyes of Rin.

He was wearing sunglasses, so his expression couldn't be seen, but his tightly furrowed brows and the continuous motion of rubbing his bald head exposed his inner confusion.

The changes in those eyes were too bizarre. From the initial Single Tomoe to the current Double Tomoe, in just a few short hours, this young man had grown from an ordinary student into a Jujutsu Sorcerer capable of fighting a Second-Grade Cursed Spirit alone—this speed was simply unbelievable.

"What secret is this kid hiding..." Miguel muttered to himself, completely unaware of the figure that had appeared behind him.

"Miguel, you've worked hard," Geto Suguru's voice came with a smile, breaking the silence. "How is our little Jujutsu Sorcerer performing?"

The sudden voice made Miguel stiffen. He turned around and saw that Geto Suguru's gaze was already fixed on Rin in the corridor, his normally gentle face filled with undisguised surprise.

Before Miguel could speak, Geto Suguru marveled to himself, "Incredible... He can face a Second-Grade Cursed Spirit alone in just a few hours?"

"It's more than just facing it."

Miguel sighed, his tone complicated, "His mastery over Cursed Energy is progressing frighteningly fast. Without any guidance, he grasped the concept of [Cursed Energy Overlap], using Cursed Energy to reinforce an iron rod to withstand the Cursed Spirit's scythe. He shows no panic when facing the Cursed Spirit and can accurately find its weaknesses to formulate tactics."

"He's a genius, isn't he?" Geto Suguru took over the conversation, his tone calm.

Miguel nodded in agreement, but then saw Geto Suguru smile faintly and speak slowly.

"There are indeed people in this world who are born with extraordinary talent, unique like the sun and moon, radiating light naturally. But Miguel, you come from Africa, where Jujutsu Sorcerers are rare. Perhaps you haven't seen a true genius—that innate powerful aura, that temperament that can effortlessly crush all others without even trying, is not easily comparable."

Saying this, Geto Suguru closed his eyes, and the image of that white-haired teenager—the one hailed as the "Hope of the Jujutsu World," an existence virtually invincible—surfaced in his mind.

When he opened his eyes again, a helpless, wry smile appeared on his face. He shook his head and explained to Miguel's dubious gaze, "Rin certainly has talent, but compared to a true genius, he's still far behind."

"Is it really that exaggerated?" Miguel still didn't believe it, but seeing Geto Suguru's certainty, he couldn't help but feel a little shaken.

While the two were talking, the battle in the corridor flared up again.

"Cursed Technique activation!"

The Long-Haired Cursed Spirit let out a low hiss, and its drooping black hair suddenly rose into the air, writhing like living venomous snakes. The strands were pulled taut, carrying force that could tear the air, transforming into several black shadows that sped toward Rin.

This time, Rin did not immediately dodge. He stood his ground, his eyes snapping wide open, the Double Tomoe Sharingan spinning rapidly in his eyes. The moment the Long-Haired Cursed Spirit mobilized its Cursed Energy, his Ocular Technique was running at full power, taking in the entire trajectory of the Cursed Energy flow within the opponent's body and the way Cursed Energy was condensed within the hair strands.

This process actually lasted only a few seconds, but under the effect of the Sharingan, Rin felt as if time had been stretched infinitely.

A massive amount of information surged into his mind like a tide. It was as if a huge machine had been forcibly stuffed into his consciousness. The complex logic of Cursed Energy operation made him dizzy, and his body instinctively froze for an instant.

In that less-than-a-second moment of distraction, the Long-Haired Cursed Spirit's attack arrived. The black hair strands twisted together, forming a massive drill that rushed straight toward Rin's face with a piercing sound of rushing wind.

"Damn it!"

Rin's heart tightened. Almost purely by instinct, he exerted force in his waist, throwing his body backward and crashing heavily onto the floor.

Because the speed and force were too great, the back of his head struck the corridor tile first. With a crisp 'thump,' the tile shattered, sending fragments flying.

This maneuver barely allowed him to evade the fatal blow. If his current physical strength had not far surpassed that of an ordinary person, the back of a normal human's head would have been crushed.

Even so, the violent impact made his vision go black, his brain felt foggy, and his ears rang.

Seeing that its attack missed, the Long-Haired Cursed Spirit let out a high-pitched shriek.

The coiled black hair instantly scattered, reforming into a thick whip that lashed out with even more violent force at Rin, who was lying on the ground.

The piercing sound of air being torn apart exploded in his ears, finally startling Rin out of his dizziness.

He flipped over abruptly, dodging the whip, and used his fingertips to push off the ground, scrambling to his feet. The whip slammed viciously onto the floor, leaving a crack several centimeters deep, scattering crushed stone.

But the attack did not stop.

The black hair scattered again, becoming soft yet extremely tough, transforming into five thick tentacles that coiled toward Rin like venomous snakes.

Rin's heart sank at the sight; he hadn't forgotten the fate of the Mantis Cursed Spirit after it was bound. If he were tangled by these hair strands, he would surely be strangled to death.

Ignoring the iron rod lying nearby, he turned and dove, crashing through the classroom window next to the corridor and falling heavily into a pile of messy desks.

Using the desks for cover, he finally put some distance between himself and the Long-Haired Cursed Spirit.

But the black hair was like a persistent infection, drilling through the window into the classroom in relentless pursuit. A single sweeping attack instantly flipped over all the scattered desks.

Wood chips and books were scattered everywhere, forcing Rin to be exposed in the center of the classroom, watching as the five tentacles intertwined and continued to lengthen, closing in on him.

In this critical moment, an old but practical plan suddenly surfaced in his mind.
