The red interference faded away as I slowly regained sight of the text written behind the system window.
"Shit... shit, shit, shit..." I muttered in panic.
"I never prepared for this scenario! What the hell?"
As I tried to sit up, the dull pain at my chest sent a sharp pain, making me gasp in alarm
"Ha - ?!"
Ah, damnit! Did I faint for over a day from when the test ended? Why didn't Ren told me about this earlier? I sighed in exasperation as I gave up trying to get up from this bed and plopped my back on the cushiony mattress, starring at the ceiling.
Ah, fuck. Now I am in a real trouble. I prepared myself to escape this academy before the incident occurred, yet, in the end, I fainted for an entire day. This sucks.
I should've never attended to take part in the test if I knew this would've happened and just called it a day.
"...If he didn't attacked my core at that time.."
Just as I played this game before, I knew that getting hit in the core that it will take three days before my core will regenerate at this rate.
"...System." I muttered as I expected the status menu to pop out infront of my vision.
Ding.
「Your information is currently
updating. Please wait until tomorrow..」
. . .
My eyes widened in disbelief as I stared at the text message given by the system.
"Updating for what?!"
Updating?! What do you mean by updating?! My status window isn't malfunctioning, is it?!
But, this is the worst possible time for this to happen. If the status window isn't working properly, then that means that.. I'm screwed.
I quickly pulled out my phone from the table beside me.
[7:23 AM.]
"...I see."
While I still have time, how am I going to get back to my room without fainting from this goddamn pain?
Ah, I remember that I have a roommate. Perhaps she could assist me in getting back to my room
But the problem is..
I never exchanged numbers with her.
This left me with one possible way of getting help. To call Ren.
I pulled out a small note with her number written on it and began dialing her number with my trembling fingers.
As I pressed the call button in my phone, I listened to the first ring echo throughout the empty room
I waited patiently as seven minutes passed by
"..Is she not going to pick up..?"
Just when I started to give up on my hopes of her answering the call
- Creak...
The door opened, filling the room with an unknown figure.
Huh? I turned my head to the right as I heard the door open, trying to find out who was the one who opened the door.
Yet, due to the curtains blocking my vision, I wasn't certain about who it was.
The curtains slid open, revealing the figure to me.
"...How's your condition going?"
