The System obligingly ejected every single item he had accumulated over the last forty-eight hours in a single, cascading wave. The chests appeared first: Silver, Gold, Platinum. They tumbled out of the air, stacking and scattering across the floor in a pile of glowing metal.
The Silver Chests came first. Eleven of them. Each one was the size of a shoebox, made of pale silver metal with a clasp on the front. They glowed with a soft white light that cast shifting patterns across the ceiling.
Then the Gold Chests. Seven. Larger than the Silver, heavier, and made of deep gold metal that radiated warmth. The light they gave off was richer and warmer, almost honey-colored.
Then the Platinum Chests. Three of them, two from the midnight farm and one from the Siege Turtle. They sat on top of the pile like crowns, each one the size of a large book and made of a metal so bright it looked like frozen starlight.
