The rain stopped first.
The dark clouds that had covered the valley for three days finally began to break apart, revealing patches of pale sky above the battlefield.
Holden stood in the mud and watched the Warmaster's body dissolve. It followed the same process he had seen with every major boss.
A glow appeared over the spot where the Warmaster had fallen.
A Platinum Chest appeared three inches above the mud, hovering there as it slowly spun.
Holden glanced around once, then willed the chest into his System Inventory.

He dismissed his sword. The Solar-Forged blade vanished from his hand into his system inventory.
Holden looked across the battlefield.
Dead siege beasts lay scattered across the valley. Deep trenches had been carved into the ground by the Warmaster's energy blades. The wreckage of the flagship still burned in the center of the battlefield, black smoke rising into the clearing sky.
