Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Ice Cream and Two Beauties

Leopold, currently in his dorm room, was getting read for the big day that awaited him. Only the day before, Nix and the boy had agreed to go on a date for ice cream. The Nix had asked him out! She was only the most popular student in class 1-D just a couple days into the school year. "This is so cool! I can't believe I'm going on a date with her!"

The boy continued to pace back and forth, trying to both calm down while also figuring out just how he was going to go about this. Despite his devilish looks, Leopold had never actually dated anyone and surely had never been on a date! This was completely new for him!

"You're getting ahead of yourself, Leopold. If you mess this up now, it will be game over." Leopold's dorm mate suggested.

The boy in question was none other than the black haired kid from the day before and Leopold's class. As things stood, this boy was more than likely the most popular male student in Class 1-D other than Leopold himself... He was known as Zion White.

"I won't mess it up, Zion!" Leopold protested, annoyed by the boy's comments. "You really need to have more faith in me! This is a once in a lifetime chance!" He took another slow, deep breath as he tried to remain composed. "I need to get this right. That means I can't afford to make any mistakes to begin with!"

"If you say so..." Zion shrugged. "Just be sure that you actually pull this off... As a man of romance myself, I know that the first girl is always the hardest to pull off."

"I've never even seen you talk to a girl..." Leopold observed.

"It's only day one!" Zion stood up and looked at Leopold, flustered. "Trust me, my dude... Soom enough all the girls will be flocking to my manly charms!" He smiled, plotting who knows what.

Leopold sighed. "There's no way, Zion. You and me are from Class 1-D, right?"

"Yeah? And?"

"And that means that we're trash compared to our other freshman!" Leopold insisted, crossing his arms." "We would probably have to defeat one of those charming guys in higher classes just to be recognized by some ladies! Have you even seen class 1-A?!" Leopold was clearly nervous at the low chances he had at romance while in school.

Zion nodded. "Those bastards are a real pain, yeah. They take all the cute ladies and leave the rest of us with nothing!" He grinned, thinking on his words. "So... we just have to strike first!"

Even from only knowing Zion for one day, Leopold already knew the ambitions this guy had. Unlike Leopold, Zion seemed to be "shooting for the stars" and never seemed to take "no" for an answer.

He was an idiot though...

"At least he isn't giving up..." the male observed, smiling once again. "Still, I have more important matters to worry about right now!" Leopold's thoughts urged him as he went back to getting ready for his upcoming date.

====================

Meanwhile...

As Leopold dealt with his own worries for the upcoming date, others were also preparing in their own rooms some distance away from him. Nix sat in her room with her older sister, the two Beastmen working on getting the silver haired girl ready for her upcoming day with Sir Stratus.

"Are you sure this guy is really the right one?" Carla asked her sister as Nix got ready. She looked unsure, wanting to know of her sister's intentions.

The girl nodded, beaming as she prepared. "I'm sure! I can confidently say that I've never been able to even talk to guys before, as you know. "However, this Leopold is so sweet and strong and... pretty hot when you think about it!" She laughed at her words, starting to sound like the other girls at her school.

Carla scoffed, turning away from Nix. "I just don't like the guy..."I can also say that I've never met a man that was good enough for you, and he is no exception!"

"Would you just relax, sis?!" Nix asked, worried about her sister's comments. "This is ONE ice cream date and nothing more. It isn't even like I've decided that I want to be his girlfriend." Although she clearly did want that. "And besides, he may not even see this as a date! That means that there is still only a small chance of romance to begin with!"

"Just don't let him hurt you in any way, sis, or I'll personally take him to hell!"

"Please don't..."

Nix sighed, shaking her head. "Fine... You know, you really are way too overprotective." Nix joked. "I'm sure that it will all be alright. What's the worst that could happen anyway?"

She walked toward the door, smiling. That was right! This was only Leopold! She would be fine. There was nothing bad that was going to happen to her! Carla was just overreacting as usual...

As Nix trotted along while she thought to herself, she found herself halted. When she opened the door and tried to leave, she was stopped when seeing the sight of someone with blue hair was found outside the room, waiting patiently for her. The girl truly had a gorgeous figure, truly beautiful to say the least. She seemed to be smiling as she waited for Nix.

"Miss Nix, good to see you!" she greeted, bowing just slightly

"Breeze!" Nix called to the girl.

Breeze was Nix's close friend from the Kushida Kingdom and the youngest child of Kushida's current king, Adam Kushida. When Nix and Carla had first arrived in Kushida some months before the beginning of the current school year, Breeze had been the one to welcome them. She was wonderful, and someone that Nix considered to be quite close to her despite the lack of time they had known each other.

She smiled and hugged her friends, the two girls laughing. Breeze looked at Nix."How have you been?!" She stepped back a few steps, awaiting an answer.

"Not bad, Princess Breeze." Nix said. "It's been quite lovely here! How about you?"

"I've been doing well." Breeze replied, her face beaming with excitement. "My siblings as well, although I heard from Cinder's assistant that she lost a fight to someone yesterday just before classes began."

"As in a battle loss?!" Nix exclaimed. That was pretty surprising to her, being as Cinder was probably one of the strongest people in all of Kushida. Nix couldn't imagine even the faintest picture of how Cinder could lose a fight. "Is she alright then?"

"How is that even possible?" Carla asked, coming up beside her sister.

Breeze shrugged, scratching her cheek. "No idea... That's all I was told." She looked up at the ceiling. "I wonder who it could have been though... I'm sure will run into this mysterious person later, but it was quite a shock to be honest. I'd like to see just what kind of person could pull off such a feat." She looked back at Nix and Carla. Anyways, where were you heading, Nix?"

Nix smiled, looking at her friend. She had almost forgotten that nobody besides Carla actually knew of Nix's plans. "I was actually going to meet a date!" She grinned some more, excited.

Breeze eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "You already have a date?!" She grabbed Nix's shoulders, a bit more than curious. "Who is it? Is he handsome? Where did you two meet?!" She was practically bouncing up in down in that hallway.

The girl shrugged. "He's just a classmate." Instantly, an idea popped into her head. "Why don't you come with me to meet him, Breeze?"

Breeze, blushing, stepped back again. She waved her arms, trying to signal that as a bad idea. "Good heavens no! I wouldn't want to intrude on you two! Unless it wouldn't be a problem..." She frowned. But it probably would be, no?"

"It will be fine! Just trust me!" the girl insisted once again.

"So, she can go see this person, but I'm not allowed?!" Carla asked, frustrated at her sister's words. She crossed her arms, clicking he tongue in frustration.

Nix looked at the girl, matching her from. "That's due to the fact you'd try and get him to flee the date before we could even talk!" She sighed and shook her head. "It's just a safety precaution for you stay behind this once, alright? Still, if we succeed and become friends, then maybe I can introduce you to him!"

Carla sighed, annoyed by her sister's attitude. "Alright. Have fun on this date and be back before curfew!" She turned around and walked back into the room.

"Alright!"

Listening in to the two girl's conversation, Breeze blinked. "Wait... You aren't even friends with this boy yet? Then how the heck are you going on a date?" She was confused once again.

Nix grabbed Breeze's arm and tugged her down the halls of the girl's dormitory. "The fine details don't really matter right now. Let's just get going and I can explain things later!" And with that, the two girls headed out.

=================

Some time later, Leopold was waiting in the park that lay on his new school's campus. Nix had still yet to arrive, which meant that he was sitting by himself as he anticipated the beautiful Beastwoman's arrival.

He had on his white uniform as well as his sword on his side, sheathed. Leopold had decided to go with this basic look so that he could possibly seem to be some sort of "shining knight" while out..

"But will it be enough?" the boy wondered, nervously. What if Nix doesn't like these kinds of guys? Maybe Zion is right... What if I mess up?!"

He sighed, still thinking. Another problem circulating through his mind was how he would go about making the first move when Nix arrived. He needed to make it as good as possible so as to gain Nix's attention. Only problem was that Leopold had never exactly been someone to be on "top of things" such as this. The boy was also in a new situation being as this would really be the first time he would have anything really expected of him, apart from Ivory's constant demands.

So, how should he go about this? "I wish I had asked someone for advice before I rushed headfirst into this... Stupid move, Leo!" The boy sat back on the park bench and sighed.

Then, only moments later and after what felt like an eternity of waiting in constant fear, Nix arrived. She was her silver hair pushed back just slightly, forming a ponytail on the back of her head. This hair design was accompanied by a truly beautiful dress that sparkled in the sunlight that shined down on the lands below.

Surprisingly though, someone was with her as well. Next to Nix was a blue haired girl who looked fairly similar in appearance and who was almost cowering behind Nix as if she saw Leopold to be some sort of Demon.

"She's quite the looker as well..." the boy observed, narrowing his eyes. "Are they perhaps friends? Maybe I could bring Zion with me next time! Nah... Zion isn't good with people in general despite what he may say..."

Nix waved to Leopold once she came a bit closer. The girl was blushing, clearly embarrassed by her late arrival. "Sorry that I'm a bit behind, Sir Leopold!" She bowed to him, apologizing.

Leopold smiled and waved her off. "No, it's quite alright." He again looked at the girl next to Nix feeling a strange sense of curiosity. "By the way... just who is this other girl that you have brought with you, Nix? Your sister perhaps?"

Nix shook her head. "Not my sister." She signaled to the girl behind her, stepping aside so that Leopold could see her more clearly. "She's my friend. This girl is Breeze Kushida. She's the youngest child of King Adam of the Kushida Kingdom. "She's fairly shy, so be friendly around her."

Leopold nodded. "Well, it is truly a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Breeze." He bowed to her, introducing himself. "My name is Leopold Stratus and I am a knight of the Stashin Kingdom." Leopold narrowed his eyes, thinking for a moment. Did Nix say that this girl was called Breeze Kushida. Her last name...

The boy, connecting the dots, quickly steadied himself. He took a step back, shocked."Kushida! So, her older sister was the one who tried to fight me yesterday!" He could feel his eye twitching. "I hope that little detail doesn't lead to any problems..."

"N-Nice to meet you too!" Breeze said in a squeaky voice.

Leopold smiled as he looked at Breeze. The boy listened to her tone of voice as he scanned over her. "Then, shall we go and find some desert for the three of us? I saw a popular ice cream stand the school had on campus just over there." He pointed to the small stand that was just a couple yards away.

The two girls quickly nodded and then the three students walked over to their new destination. The man currently being free of customers, smiled when he saw them approaching. "Welcome! Can I get you some sweets today, good sir?"

Leopold nodded. "Just what do you sell at this stand? Any different deserts or flavors? I'm not quite sure what the ladies will like..." Leopold pointed at Nix and Breeze as the man nodded.

"Makes sense." he breathed, thinking. "Well... our crepes are actually preferred to our ice cream. I would recommend that you should try them if you want something more flavorful to the tastebuds.."

"Isn't this just a small stand?! How do they sell crepes here?!"

Of course, Leopold wouldn't dare say those thoughts aloud. "Great! I'll take one strawberry crepe and they'll have..." Leopold looked to the girls. "What flavors would you two like?"

"I'll have one berries and cream!" Nix said.

"I'll try the tart cream cheese!" Breeze breathed right after.

"Coming right up!"

The man started to make the crepes while the three waited. As he did, Leopold and his group watched in awe at his masterful work. It dazzled Leopold, sparking much interest in the boy. The way he carefully rolled the bread and added the specified ingredients...

"I should try to make crepes some time..." he thought.

Once the man was finally finished some moments later, Leopold and the others took their crepes from his hands and went to sit over on a nearby park bench.

The boy looked at Nix and Breeze, grinning from ear to ear. "Time to dig in!" Leopold quickly went and took a bite of his crepe. "So good!"

"Is it really?" Nix asked as she took a bite of her own crepe her crepe. "You're right! This is delightful!" She blushed, happy the taste was good.

Breeze watched them and then looked down at her own. "O-okay! My turn!" Breeze blushed as well, covering her mouth with her free hand. "Wow! This is so good! I-I mean..."

Nix then looked over at Leopold and frowned. "By the way, Leo... why did you get a basic strawberry?" She seemed to be confused by his selection, being as it was more basic than she would have expected.

The boy thought for a moment, frowning. "I suppose... I just like the basics." He smiled, thinking on his past. "Strawberry was actually the first flavor of crepes that I had when I first started working as a knight. The whole army was offered them as a treat when the kingdom's special 'crepier' made a few too many... It just brings me a special feeling of happiness is all."

"Is that so? Then maybe me and Breeze should try some!" Nix surmised.

Leopold shrugged. "I don't see a problem." He took the spoon he had been given and scooped a spoonful of his crepe, starting to feed the bite to Nix. Afterwords, her smile became brighter than it was before!

"You were right! This is even better than mine!" she looked over at her friend. "Breeze, it's your turn!"

Breeze blushed and started to shake her hands in defiance. "N-No! I-I shouldn't! It feels so embarrassing..." Something was clearly bothering her about the idea, but unfortunately Nix would not back down.

"I think it will be fine! Just try it!" the girl insisted, tugging on Breeze's arm.

"But if you really don't want to..." Leopold mumbled.

Breeze rapidly shook her head. "T-That isn't it! I-I try some!" And so, yet again Leopold took a spoonful of his dessert and went to feed Breeze some. The whole time, he wondered just why she was so embarrassed. Lucas did this with Ivory all the time, so what was the problem?

He shrugged. "Maybe it's because this girl is just shy? Who knows..." Leopold would never be able to understand the ways of women.

"I-It's good! Thanks..." Breeze said after eating her bite.

"So now it's your turn to feed me, girls."

There was dead silence after Leopold made that comment. Leopold looked at Nix and Breeze who looked back at him, none saying so much as a word for a few seconds as they tried to process what was happening.

"HUH?!"

Frowning, Leopold looked at them. Now what was big deal was now? Had he said something out of line? It had seemed like a simple request from where he was sitting, right?!

"Just what's the problem, girls?" he asked the both of them. "I fed you two my crepe, right? It's only fair that the two of feed me some!" He tilted his head, wondering if he had gotten the idea wrong. "Isn't that what we're doing here? Trying crepes?"

"I-I never knew you would be so forceful!" Nix remarked.

Breeze nodded. "Don't you think this is moving a bit fast, Leopold?"

"Fast?" Leopold echoed in his mind. In what world was there a specific time limit to eating crepes? "Wait... I might be reading into this a bit much, but they couldn't possibly mean that... right?!" Now the boy found himself blushing at the idea. "I mean... we've only known each other for a day or so!"

"If you really don't feel like it, then I won't force you..." Leopold said, trying to avoid making things weird. He was about to pull away from the two of them, but then was once again stopped before he could make a move.

"N-No! I'll feed you!" Nix shouted.

"M-Me too!" Breeze joined in.

Leopold blushed. "Oh boy..." He hesitantly nodded, proceeding to take bites of both of the other girls crepes. As he did, something inside of him stirred. It was as though he was on a cloud, high up in the sky and trying to reach heaven. It was a feeling that Leopold had been unfamiliar with.

Breeze looked at him, blushing from head to toe. "S-So... was it good?" She looked at Nix, the two girls awaiting his answer.

Leopold tasted the crepe, observing both flavors and textures. After a moment, he again smiled. "Yes! It was! This is actually the first time I've taken a bite off someone else's silverware, so it was a new experience! Still-"

He was stopped short when Nix interrupted him. "What?!" Nix shouted yet again. "Y-You've never done something like that?!" She leaned towards him, causing Leopold to lean back just slightly.

"S-So me and Nix were like your first indirect kisses?!" Breeze questioned.

"Well, yes..." Leopold agreed, worriedly.

"I-I think that I need some time to clear my head..." Nix observed, standing up.

"Y-Yeah! I'll go with her..." Breeze agreed.

And so, after what seemed to be a good time of crepes and stories, both girls suddenly left Leopold all alone. He watched them leave, blinking in confusion while holding what remained of his dessert. Another feeling arose in his chest, although this one less pleasant than the high from before.

"Did I mess something up?! With two hot girls as well..." he wondered, observing their reactions. Leopold sighed, sitting back against the bench while he thought about his apparent incompetence. "I'm such an idiot, huh..."
