Azura's mind swirled, fragments of reality unraveling like threads. She stared at her shadow-self, the echoes of a voice whispering, "You are the darkness."
Keir burst into the chamber, sword flashing, his eyes wild with desperation. "Azura, no!"
The shadow-Azura laughed, a sound like shattering glass. "Too late, Keir. She's mine now."
Keir charged, but the shadow-Azura vanished, reappearing behind him. A dark blade materialized, pressing against Keir's throat. "You can't save her, Keir. She's part of the shadow now."
Azura's vision blurred, her mind torn between reality and madness. She remembered El'goreth, Lyra's smile, the moonwhisper reeds... and Keir's eyes, stars in the night.
"Keir," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Keir's eyes locked onto hers, a spark of hope. "Azura, fight it. You have the light within."
The shadow-Azura sneered, its grip on Keir tightening. "The light? Ha! The darkness is her true self."
Azura's vision cleared, her eyes burning with a fierce, inner light. "No," she whispered, her voice growing stronger. "I choose... the light."
The shadow-Azura shrieked, its form unraveling. Azura felt a surge of power, her shadow-self merging with her, darkness and light entwining...
Keir pulled her into his arms as the chamber exploded in a blaze of light. "I got you," he whispered, his voice her anchor.
Azura smiled, her eyes locking onto his. "I'm not alone."
The darkness receded, revealing a new path. Together, they stepped forward, into the unknown...
