Chapter 1 - Prologue - Isekai Sucks

???

"..." A young boy groans as he slowly opens his eyes. He blinks owlishly as he notices his surroundings are filled with nothing but floating binary numbers.

"..." He tries to speak, but instead of sound, binary codes come out of his mouth. Out of panic, he covers his mouth before looking at his surroundings. Without any warning, he feels his head is getting ripped apart as flashes of images and knowledge start flooding into his mind.

He had no idea what was going on; he begged to stop, but it did nothing. The information that flows into his head is too much for his mind as he starts falling unconscious.

The last thing he saw was his body covered with binary code before darkness took over.

???

"So, how much does he remember?" A woman with long purple hair asks as she stares at an unconscious grey-haired boy. Besides her is a young girl with long grey hair, who looks at the holographic screen in boredom.

"He'll remember you," The grey-haired girl responds as the woman simply smiles, gently holding a glowing orb in her palm and slowly approaches him.

"Time to wake up," The woman says as she gently shoves the orb into the man's chest. The grey-haired girl stares at them as the young man slowly wakes up. Before she could continue to watch, the holographic screen showed something that caught her attention.

"Huh...this is strange..." The girl quietly mutters as she looks at the screen. She glances at the woman who's busy talking with the barely-awake young man before she starts to investigate herself. Her scanner has picked up an unknown presence in the Space Station, and nothing seems to match the presence of the monsters she summoned to distract a certain group.

But, she can't go into a deep investigation as she looks at the time and grimaces. She turns around to face the purple-haired woman as she gently picks up the young man, who had turned unconscious once again.

"Took you long enough..." The girl huffs before she closes the screen. "Come on, we gotta go before the Astral Express comes here as Elio predicted."

"I know, Silver Wolf. You're still as impatient as ever," The purple-haired woman chuckles. "This is why you would never be able to win your game and resort to hacks.

"H-hey!" The girl, Silver Wolf, is completely flustered. "W-who do you think you're talking to, huh!? I'm the pro gamer who has reached level 999 in most of my alternate accounts."

"Of course," The woman teases before gently placing the young man next to the wall, ignoring Silver Wolf's glare. The woman pauses as she turns around and sees no one. Silver Wolf stops glaring at the woman and raises her eyebrow questionably.

"Something wrong?" Silver Wolf asks.

"I can't help but notice something nearby...." The woman muses as she pulls out a gun from her back.

"Put that down, Kafka. We really didn't want to attract everyone here. It ain't fun," Silver Wolf says as she summons her holographic screen and types something as she and the woman, Kafka, start glowing blue. "We'd better get out of here. We have fulfilled our part of the script."

"I suppose..." Kafka muses as she puts the gun away. Neither of them notices that Silver Wolf's holographic screen glitches for a brief moment before they teleported away. The moment they're gone, the figure pops out of the hiding place as it rubs its head while groaning in pain.

"Damn, the headache is so bad I started hallucinating Kafka and Silver Wolf just now..." The figure mutters as it walks towards the light, revealing its appearance, a short bipedal, blue-scaled reptile with a pair of ears-like appendages, 5 pairs of sharp-clawed fingers, three pairs of toes, a white-scaled belly and lower part of its face, a pair of maroon eyes with yellow markings under its eyes and its forehead, and a tiny horn on its nose.

"..." The figure takes a glance at its hands and goes silent for a while, staring blankly at it. It glances at the unconscious young man in front of him and simply stares blankly at him.

"...Did I accidentally drink an alcohol or hallucinogen because this hallucination is getting out of hand..." The figure mutters. "What are the chances of getting shoved into the world of Honkai: Star Rail as ...whatever am I?"

The figure turns to its side, and he blinks in surprise at his appearance. The reflection shows the face of a cartoonishly cute reptile coming straight out of fiction. His jaws went slack before he started rubbing his face, and all he could feel was smooth scales similar to amphibious scales instead of reptile scales, and his sharp claws making contact with scales.

"A Veemon...I'm a Veemon...." The creature mutters in disbelief before he starts letting out a humorous chuckle, taking a few steps back shakily, before he hears something. He turns around and sees the automatic door open and several monsters walking towards him.

"Oh, come on..." The Veemon groans as the monsters charge at him. He takes a step back before everything in his vision starts to slow down, and screens displaying data start popping left and right.

Unconsciously, he raised his hand to touch the screen, and suddenly, the data on the screen was deleted, and new information was written on it.

[Command: ], [Target: Voidrangers], [Destination: Out of the Space Station]

In the blink of an eye, glitches start to appear on the Voidrangers before they disappear from existence. Veemon blinks at the scene before shaking his head.

"Okay, what was that?!?!" Veemon exclaims incredulously before he feels a bit dizzy and his vision starts to blur. He collapses to the ground before his stomach starts to growl.

"So...hungry..." Veemon groans before looking at the unconscious young man in front of him. "...at least he's okay..."

With that, he lets his head hit the ground face-first. As he was about to fall unconscious, he heard the door open and instantly raised his head. He notices two people enter the room: a young man with black hair wearing a white/green outfit while holding a spear, and a pink-haired girl wearing a pink/white/blue outfit holding a huge bow enter the room.

"..." Veemon groans as he uses the remaining energy he has to slowly get up and face the duo. The young man notices him and tries to raise his spear, but is stopped when the pink-haired girl starts to squeal. This caught both of them off guard before the pink-haired girl rushed towards the creature and started hugging him.

"So cute! Dan Heng, look! We found someone as cute as Pom-Pom!" The girl exclaims as she hugs Veemon tighter.

"L-let go!! H-help!" Veemon begs as he looks at the young man, Dan Heng, with a pleading look, and thankfully, he was kind-hearted enough to help.

"March, let the poor creature go." Dan Heng says exasperatedly. "He's clearly not a huge fan of hugs."

"I don't mind hugs, but she's squeezing the air out of my lungs!" Veemon exclaims before he feels March's hug loosen up and takes the chance to escape, but he ends up faceplanting. "Ouch..."

"Are you okay?" Dan Heng asks as Veemon groans.

"What do you think..." Veemon shakily gets up as his stomach growls again. Veemon goes silent before he collapses, burying his face. "Someone kill me, please, and let me reincarnate once more. I can't take any more shame from the amount of aura I've lost."

"...you sound like Madam Herta talks..." Dan Heng says dryly before he pulls out a sandwich and offers it to Veemon. "May I ask a few things in exchange for this sandwich?"

"..can I?" Dan Heng feels like someone is tugging his heartstrings upon hearing how pitiful the Digimon sound, and the feeling is amplified tenfold when the Veemon unintentionally pulls a puppy-dog eye.

"Y-yes," Dan Heng did everything to speak normally, but to everyone with ears, it was obvious his voice was cracking.

In a blink, the sandwich on Dan Heng's hand disappears and reappears on Veemon's hand as the little creature gobbles the entire thing.

"What are you?" Dan Heng asks.

"The name's Theo, and I'm a Digimon, a creature from another world made of data," The Veemon, now named Theo, explains. He honestly feels weird to say such a thing, given he was once a human.

"...we never heard of you nor your kind in our travels, not even the Archives knows your existence," Dan Heng says as March sits next to Theo and starts rubbing his head.

"Please stop..." Theo gently pushes March's hand away from his head. "Unless you're from another universe or even travel through another universe, you won't hear about Digimon."

'And even though I know about Digimon, knowing they exist along with the multiverse is still surreal.' Theo thought to himself.

"Cool!" March exclaims as Dan Heng narrows his eyes.

"So, how does a creature from another world appear here?" Dan Heng asks as Theo shrugs.

"I don't know. All I know is that it just happens, and I had to feel my entire body ripped apart and reassembled like a jigsaw puzzle before arriving here with a killing headache and an empty stomach." Theo says as the room goes silent. Dan Heng's eyes grow wide for a moment while March covers her mouth in horror before she hugs the poor creature again.

"Oh, Aeons. You didn't deserve to go through that..." March mutters as Theo looks a bit awkward.

"...thanks for trying to cheer me up, girl. But, let's address the Elephantmon in the room," Theo blinks as he notices he says Elephantmon instead of elephant.

"Elephantmon?" Dan Heng mutters in confusion as Theo simply sighs and points at the unconscious man.

"...how did we not notice him?" March mutters; she sounds a bit guilty.

"Probably got distracted by me..." Theo says as March rubs the back of her head sheepishly. Dan Heng approaches the young man and presses his fingers to the young man's neck.

"He has a pulse, and I can hear him breathing..." Dan Heng mutters as March lets out a sigh of relief.

"Well, that's good. I saw Kafka and Silver Wolf of the Stellaron Hunters drag him out of a room and place him here..." Theo notices both of them stare at him with wide eyes. "...right, I should've mentioned it earlier..."

"...yes, you should," Dan Heng says as he checks on the young man.

"Give him a break, Dan Heng," March says, trying to defend the poor Digimon. "He probably was too scared and hungry to bring it up."

'I appreciate your attempt to defend me and tell the truth, but my pride takes a nasty blow...' Theo whines mentally.

"...he seems fine, his pulse is normal, and he breathes normally. I can't see anything wrong with him," Dan Heng responds.

"... Is it okay to wake him up?" March mutters. "Do we need to give him mouth-to-mouth breathing?"

"You hear him saying his breathing is fine, and that's your solution?" Theo asks incredulously.

"H-hey! I am no doctor, okay?" March exclaims embarrassingly as Dan Heng glances at the young man and leans closer.

"Aiyo, aren't you a bit too eager!??!" Theo asks Dan Heng with a similar incredulous tone, causing Dan Heng to flinch, refusing to face them as his face is burning. "If you want to do it, at least do it right!"

"Urgh..." They both stop as the young man shifts around and opens his eyes. "W-what...?"

"Oh, you finally awake! Thank Aeons, you're fine....you don't feel anything weird, are you?" March asks in concern.

"...w-who are you all? And what's that blue alien?"
