Before light found shape and before time knew its measure, silence cradled the bones of eternity. And in this unshaped stillness, where even thought was unborn, the First Will stirred. From that Will came a command: "Exist". So it was that the foundations of all that is carved into being. Galaxies erupted like sparks from a hammer against stone, Stars bled heat and light into the black, and Time began to walk forward, step by step. Creation spiraled outward, raw and unchecked, beautiful yet dangerous, and it cried for order. Laws. Balance. A mind to govern its becoming. Then, The Creator, known as the First Will, commanded again. This time beings of power, personifications of concepts to rule their own dominions and establish an equilibrium to this newborn universe. The ultimate authority in creation, with the sole exception of The Creator himself. These beings came to be known as "Knights", revered as gods, masters of their own realms, and the Keepers of the Cosmos.
The Creator chose 8 concepts in the cosmos and breathed into them awareness, and gifted each of them with names;
The Prime Antitheses: Chaos and Order were the first to awaken, they were named Khaos and Themis.
The Elders Triplets: Space, Time and Matter soon followed. Aether, Chronos and Gaia were their names.
The Harmonious Two: Life and Death came in third. Aionis and Thanatos is what they were called.
And of the 8th concept, The Creator made it different. Although the other 7 held together the principalities of the cosmos and needed to be wise and knowledgeable by nature of their own realms, this one was destined to spread out all over existence, invading all Space, stretched throughout Time, sustained by Matter, obedient to Chaos and Order alike, a shelter for Life, and welcoming to Death. The sandbox of The Creator, and its personification, this Knight was granted the most freedom out of all the others;
The Celestial Architect: Stars. Astraeus is his name.
And using its newfound will, he, The Knight that governs the Stars themselves, created helpers to aid him in governing his domain, these "lesser Knights" came to be known as Bishops. a Bishop to represent the Suns and one to represent the Moons.
The Eternal Eclipse: Sun and Moon. Helios and Selene.
The Creator, surprised and curious at these actions, expressed himself in approval of Astraeus' decision and granted the right of existence to the newborn creatures. Though created to help in governing, The Sun, Helios, and Moon, Selene, soon became aware of each other, and with that, a spark was found in between them, never before felt by any of the Celestials towards one another. They were different by nature, one made to govern light and heat, another to guard the darkness and cold, an unthinkable attraction, but an attraction nonetheless. The first lovers in creation. And from the unison,
The Celestial Offspring: Day and Night. Hemera and Nyx. The result of the Eclipse's embrace.
Hemera and Nyx inherited their parent's abilities in lesser portions. Instead of governing the cause, they became governors of the consequences, an authority that was happily given to them by their parents themselves. With the Sun, there must be Day. And with the Moon, Night.
And so, the first family, the first beings in Creation came to be. But, soon after that, other beings, not as powerful as the Celestials, also joined in creation. Infinite worlds, infinite races, infinite people. And this is the story of how it all came to an end, and how its Creator died.
