I led them through the villa, introducing them to the Xianzhou-style garden villa.

Pavilions, small bridges and running water, rockeries and strange stones, winding paths—every corner was filled with the charm of classical Oriental aesthetics.

Sunlight filtered through the latticed windows, casting mottled shadows among the carved beams and painted pillars, while the air was filled with the faint scent of bamboo and flowers, making it feel as if we were in some hidden courtyard on the Xianzhou Luofu.

Firefly and Silver Wolf both found this Oriental-style villa quite novel.

Firefly, in particular, looked delighted; she seemed to love this quiet and elegant environment, stopping occasionally to appreciate the view, her eyes filled with curiosity and admiration.

Even though Silver Wolf said, "It's okay, just whatever," her eyes betrayed appreciation, and she even took out her phone to take a few photos.

Finally, we reached the guest room area on the second floor.

I pointed to several rooms with different styles of decoration and said: "There are a few guest rooms here; see which one you like and take your pick."

Silver Wolf walked into a room decorated with a futuristic, sci-fi style. The room was dominated by metallic colors and blue tones, with glowing lines and patterns decorating the walls, looking incredibly cool.

She looked around the room and nodded with satisfaction: "This one is nice; it fits my style."

Firefly chose a warm and elegant room. It was decorated in beige and light green, with landscape paintings hanging on the walls and a few potted plants on the windowsill, looking fresh and peaceful.

She walked into the room, seemingly fond of the atmosphere, gently stroking the green leaves on the windowsill, a tender smile appearing on her face.

Seeing that they had both chosen their rooms and seemed satisfied, I felt genuinely happy.

In the days to come, this villa will surely become much livelier and more interesting with their arrival.

And the "compensation" Kafka mentioned seems to have already begun to manifest.

Night fell, and the villa was left with only the click-clack of game controller buttons in my bedroom and the intense combat sound effects from the screen.

The liveliness of the day felt like a fleeting dream, and now I was alone again, immersed in the slaughter of the virtual world.

Just as I was completely focused, ready to land the final blow on my opponent, a gentle knock on the door interrupted me.

Knock, knock.

The sound was very light, carrying a hint of hesitation.

Who could it be? I wondered.

At this hour, could it be... Firefly?

She is so quiet, surely she wouldn't come to bother me so late?

Or perhaps Silver Wolf?

That girl has so much energy, maybe her gaming itch acted up and she wants to team up?

That possibility seemed more likely.

I put down the game controller, shuffled toward the door in my slippers, still guessing who might be outside.

I casually turned the handle, saying nonchalantly: "Is that you, Silver Wolf? If you want to game, wait until I finish this round..."

My words stopped abruptly.

Standing at the door were indeed Silver Wolf and Firefly, but their appearance... made my brain crash for a few seconds.

Silver Wolf was wearing a one-piece pajama with a cute cartoon pattern, which fit her cold-outside-warm-inside, occasionally childish style. She stood with her arms crossed, tilting her head to look at me, a playful smile on her lips.

And standing next to her, Firefly...

My gaze couldn't help but freeze.

She, she was actually wearing... a thin, semi-transparent lace nightdress!

The soft light passed through the thin fabric, vaguely outlining her exquisite body curves, with her fair skin appearing and disappearing in the haze.

That pure and lovely face, combined with this bold and sexy outfit, created an indescribable impact, making my heart skip a beat.

Seeing my dumbfounded expression, as if I'd been scared silly, Silver Wolf seemed to realize something. She turned her head and whispered to Firefly: "Didn't that old woman Kafka say he'd regained his memory? Why is he reacting like this..."

Silver Wolf's voice was soft, but in the quiet hallway, I heard it clearly.

And Firefly, the moment Silver Wolf spoke, turned bright red, like a ripe apple, even her ears flushed with a reddish hue.

She nervously gripped the hem of her nightdress with both hands, avoiding my gaze, not daring to look at me, her voice as thin as a mosquito's: "I... I'm not sure either..."

Her shy and helpless appearance, paired with that nightdress, made one's heart... sway.

Silver Wolf didn't say more, just gave me an "as expected" look, then reached out, grabbed my arm with one hand, pushed Firefly's back with the other, and shoved both of us into my bedroom.

With a bang, the door was kicked shut by Silver Wolf's heel.

"Sit." Silver Wolf pointed to the edge of my bed, sat down without ceremony, and patted the spot next to her, signaling for Firefly and me to sit as well.

Firefly, still blushing and with her head down, took small steps to the bed and sat down carefully, her body tense, like a child who had done something wrong.

I stood there, feeling at a loss; this sudden situation had me a bit confused.

Looking at Silver Wolf, who was composed and even curiously observing my reaction, and then at Firefly, who wished she could bury her head in her knees, I took a deep breath, tried to calm myself, and sat on the edge of the bed as instructed, keeping a bit of distance from them.
