The game released a satisfied declaration.
Zyphor death came as a great surprise to many.
Of course there were others who expected such a result.
One of them was a player with a white halo above her head covered in long dark hair.
Her skin was white and so were her pupilless eyes. However, it wasn't human-white, but pure white similar to a deck of cards' white.
What was surprising was the halo above her head—black club symbols circulated within it.
Her name was:
The name was a stark contrast to her species who are one of the Ace of Clubs' most loyal subjects known as Seraphae's.
That Instigator was such a fool. She sneered to herself, a look of annoyance crossing her face.
She was mad.
He didn't even realize a celestial being such as I was in this game and yet he was able to spot that trash Vampy?
She clicked her tongue, her heart burning with jealousy.
While the Vampys were number-13 in the games, Seraphaes were number-4!
When it comes to Clubs Handlers there is no other species as skilled and feared as the Seraphaes.
With the sole exception of their Jacks and Queens, that is.
Whatever, he's dead anyways. To think someone was so stupid to believe it would be so easy to win against a legendary player. She thought with a shake of her head.
She gave Fisher a glance and flinched internally.
That monster is someone even our Queens don't dare take lightly. She said as she was reminded of before she came to the middle plaza.
What she saw was the reason she was so confident that the Instigator would lose and that was because of the item she saw Fisher fiddling with right as she exited her designated home.
Although I was a bit worried when I saw him not do anything... could it be he knew there was a Swapper? She shivered, unable to control herself from showing how scared she was of Fisher.
The game just started and he already figured out someone else's role...
She then made up her mind.
Maybe he also knows my role. In that case, I should reveal myself to him and get a layer of protection—!!!
As she was thinking this a message from the game appeared in front of her.
The message contents were like a sudden ghost to her as her white skin became a pale that could hardly be seen.
She stood there with a blank look.
She thought it was Fisher doing but when she was reminded of the item she saw him with she dropped that thought.
However, her face lit back up moments later.
Maybe it was one of his allies...
That thought was quickly dropped when two players suddenly approached.
"Hello."
One of them waved at her, his voice lacking any kind of emotion.
She turned to look at him and was only met with confusion.
This player had short white hair and wore big round glasses.
He was in some kind of uniform that she assumed was a part of his culture and his skin color, although similar to hers was something she had never seen before.
What shocked her though was his status.
"A newbie?" She said out loud for the two players to hear.
"Yep, why don't we team up with one another?"
"I refuse!" She objected instantly before walking away.
"I don't think you have the right to refuse."
She came to a stop.
Angel_Heart slowly turned around, her eyes cold as ice.
"Let's take this elsewhere." Kai said, not wanting to draw too much attention.
.
Back in his home Kai sat on the couch with Ryker who quickly made himself at home.
Opposite of them was Angel_Heart who still kept up a cold front.
"No need to be so hostile." Ryker put on a mad grin, his eyes moving across her body.
"I must say, your body is like a well-made doll just waiting to be touched." He uttered, unable to control his dirty mouth.
With his hands spread across the couch and his legs open wide he looked like a villain ready to devour.
"Vulgar." Angel_Heart only said one word.
Her face also contorted, her disgust shown for them to see.
Ryker chuckled, his eyes more piercing as they hawked at her well-rounded bosom.
How dare a newbie treat a great Seraphae with such disgrace... She declared to herself, the club symbols in her halo spinning around more rapidly at the unlawful act done at her.
"As my friend here said, you don't need to be hostile." Kai who kept quiet until now spoke.
"After all, you are now on our team whether you like it or not."
His last words made her look at him.
"So you are the one who adjusted my team?"
"That's right." Kai nodded.
"Why? There's no way you know my role when we never even interacted with one another!" She yelled, clear frustration written on her face for the injustice she was facing.
Ryker who heard this laughed, tapping his feet on the ground at the same time.
"Why are you laughing?! Uhhh! Why the hell did the Aces decide that newbies can be put into the same game as us experts?!" She raged.
Ryker stopped laughing and sneered.
"We may be newbies, but we are not idiots." He stated as he continued, "why would we waste this opportunity on someone with a useless role."
"Don't you think that's too stupid even for newbies miss doctor~"
"..."
Angel_Heart went silent, the cold front she was so desperately keeping up melted away.
Some time later she uttered, "You're a seer?"
"Nah."
"Then how?"
"Heh." Ryker's eyes flashed, an arrogant smile on his face.
But he didn't say anything. Instead he turned to Kai.
She saw this and also looked back at Kai.
"In the short time we were in the middle plaza your eyes looked at Fisher 35 times, 19 times more than all the other players."
"Whenever you averted your gaze a determined look would appear on your face before it got replaced by fear."
"Each time the fear in your eyes was shown you always looked into his robes."
Kai paused and then yawned, looked outside at the night sky, ready to go to bed.
"You wanted to seek protection from Fisher but at the same time you were scared of whatever he had in his robes."
"Or she is just scared of the little Phish!" Ryker rebuked but was ignored by the two.
Especially by Angel_Heart who raised her voice after.
"That still doesn't explain anything! I could just be any other Sheep Dweller who thought being under the protection of a legendary player would be the best option to win!" She objected.
Kai gave her a weird look as he said, "and why would this legendary player who seems to look down on everyone in the game want to ally himself with just anyone?"
"Are you really so naive to make me think that player would put a useless role under his wing?"
"..."
She went silent once more.
As an expert she knew Fisher far too well and Kai was right.
Fisher would rather kill her if her role was useless than waste time on pointless protection.
She sighed.
"To think you are a newbie with one game and one win under your belt." She stated, her eyes showing clear amazement.
"You were able to guess my role through my expressions. I bet you even know Fisher's role as well now..."
"With such observation skills could it be you're a Handler?"
Kai nodded but didn't say anything.
Angel_Heart also didn't push further.
Instead she asked, "so what's the plan? From what I can tell you have some plan to win this game by recruiting me to your team?"
"Nah."
Kai's answer made her eyes blink.
"You're joking..."
"I am not. For now survival is what is important." Kai said with a shake of his head.
He covered himself and kicked Ryker off the couch.
"Hey!"
"Since we have a doctor on our team we don't have to worry about dying and I also don't think anyone will attack on night two." He said before getting comfortable on the couch.
He took off his glasses and placed them on the table beside the couch.
He then covered his head and closed his eyes.
"Make yourself at home."
His complete disregard made her sigh, her fingers rubbing her forehead.
"Fine, can I at least know your roles then?" She asked.
"Lawyer."
"Fool."
"Of course you have a useless role." She cast Ryker who was getting comfortable on the floor another disgusted look.
"If you want to do it here and now I have to decline." Ryker teased.
"My little bro here is still wet under the ears."
"Vulgar." She said once more before also getting comfortable on the couch opposite them.
However, she didn't trust Ryker so she plucked out one of the club symbols and placed it on the couch.
Ryker chuckled seeing this but he was also curious what those symbols did.
Still, he didn't pry and went to sleep.
Angel_Heart was disappointed that he didn't make a move.
Wait, the Lawyer role... That's when she suddenly remembered something.
She looked at Kai and Ryker back and forth before she was hit with a sudden realization.
Her face flashed with despair.
"I'm doomed..."
