In a dark alleyway, a twisted and hideous monster crouched over a mangled, unrecognizable heap of flesh, feasting. Suddenly, the heap emitted a brilliant white light, forcing the monster back into a corner where it hissed. The surrounding flesh and blood rapidly flew back into place, and the consumed parts regrew at high speed. Gradually, the figure of a young boy emerged from within the white light.
The boy opened his eyes and immediately sat up, quickly feeling his entire body.
"Hiss... My body is clearly intact, so why does everything hurt so much...? Is it an illusion? Also, where are my clothes? Where is this place? I remember I was at home playing Minecraft..."
The white light around the boy gradually dissipated, and the monster's hissing slowly reached his ears. It was then that the boy noticed an indescribable mass not far away. His pupils suddenly constricted, as if he had forgotten to breathe. There was a long silence it could have been a century, or... just a single second.
"He... Help!"
The white light vanished completely and the monster hissed as it pounced. In despair, the boy shielded his face with his hands and closed his eyes.
"Am I going to die again? Why did I say again...?"
Accompanied by the sound of whistling wind and a heavy thud the expected pain did not arrive. Instead, he heard a crisp "ding-ling" sound, just like... the sound of gaining experience in minecraft.
"Are you alright?"
Looking up, he saw a blonde middle-aged man wearing green-tinted glasses and dressed like an office worker. He was holding a wrapped cleaver and checking on him. Purple blood dripped from the cleaver and the monster from before had been sliced in two, slowly dissolving away.
Kento Nanami? Does this mean I've transmigrated into Jujutsu Kaisen?
"I'm... fine..."
"Looks like he's scared stiff..."
At that moment, a tall silver-haired man wearing a single-lens blindfold descended from the sky. It was Satoru Gojo.
"Nanami, the ones upstairs... confirmed dead. This kid seems to be the only survivor."
As he spoke, he took a photo from his pocket and compared the boy's appearance to it.
"Are you Kagura Shin?"
The boy called Kagura Shin didn't speak. Instead, he stared blankly at the air in front of him. He saw something familiar the Minecraft interface. It looked like the Creative Mode panel, except most of the blocks and items were greyed out. Only Dark Oak, Cobblestone, and Dirt were lit up, though they all had a small number "0" in their bottom-right corners.
Is this my Curse Technique Minecraft? But there's no explanation. How do I unlock these items?
He suddenly remembered the experience sound he heard earlier and immediately closed the panel. Sure enough, at the very bottom of his field of vision was an experience bar with the number 1 written on it.
While he was dazed, Satoru Gojo had already gone upstairs, grabbed some clothes, and tossed them to Kagura Shin. Only then did he snap out of it change and follow the two of them into a nearby building. Upon entering, Kagura Shin saw blood dripping on the floor, leading all the way up the stairs. An inexplicable sense of panic rose in his heart.
No, why would I feel this way...? These aren't my family members... At most, I should only feel the pity of someone who shares a similar fate..
The closer he got to a certain door on a certain floor, the more panicked Kagura Shin became. He shouldn't have known which door belonged to this body's home and he shouldn't have known this body's family yet...
Kagura Shin's hand trembled as he pushed open the half-open door. Inside, he saw a scene like a living hell. A couple with mutilated bodies lay on the floor their hands reaching toward the doorway as if trying to grasp something. Kagura Shin wanted to look closer but his vision suddenly blurred. He subconsciously reached up to wipe his eyes, and tears streamed down his cheeks.
No... it shouldn't be like this. I don't even know them! Has my soul actually lost to this ordinary body in this matter? This only happens when... the body is far stronger than the soul!
Kagura Shin couldn't suppress the sorrow in his heart at all. He slowly sank to his knees, covering his face with his hands, weeping silently.
Behind him, Satoru Gojo slightly lifted his blindfold, revealing his Six Eyes, and raised an eyebrow.
Oh? What interesting Cursed Energy. Two completely different Cursed Energies have actually merged
Downstairs Gojo had already noticed two distinct Cursed Energies of differing strengths within Kagura Shin's body. They were as clear as fire and water refusing to mix. But for some reason, the two powers had now completely fused, becoming a presence that could not be ignored.
Once Kagura Shin finished crying, Satoru Gojo repeated his earlier question.
"You are Kagura Shin, right?"
Kagura Shin, his eyes red from crying, looked up at Satoru Gojo and said,
"Yes, I am Kagura Shin!"
Satoru Gojo stared at him for a moment and suddenly laughed. He then made a phone call for an Assistant Supervisor to come and handle the funeral arrangements for the Kagura family.
After a period of silence among the three in the room Satoru Gojo was the first to speak.
"Nanami, tell this kid about what happened just now and some things about the Jujutsu World. He has real talent as a Jujutsu Sorcerer."
Kento Nanami glanced at Kagura Shin and began to explain slowly.
"The monster you saw just now is called a Cursed Spirit. They are monsters born from human negative emotions. We that is Jujutsu Sorcerers exist for the purpose of exorcising these monsters..."
Nanami's explanation was long and detailed. The three of them stayed in the room until the Assistant Supervisor arrived to clean up, then they left for a specialized funeral home.
...
Kagura Shin watched as his parents bodies entered the incinerator. Rest in peace..
