Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Hit and Trial

Sam sighed at the twist of history, which was that only the first batch were given the privilege to awaken the System and talent, but later the Federation came to know, after many hit and trials, that 16 to 17 years is the perfect age to awaken the System and talent in the Sanctuary.

"Yeah. Later-born babies have to awaken the talent and system in the Sanctuary, and it was also for efficiency that the age was set: 16 to 17 years," and his blue hazy eyes stared at the cubical material, which was the medium for unawakened students to bring to the Sanctuary, and his eyes snapped out as words entered his ear.

...

The director glanced at the students who were standing at the corner of the stage and noticed that some students were anxious, enticed, and displaying myriads of emotions, and exhaled a deep breath.

Knocking on the podium, the director brought everyone's attention to him.

"Today is a very significant day of your life, and I believe that not every one of you is entitled to battle against monsters, and this is quite common, and our society also leapt into the world of technology, but foremost of all things, I believe that all of you are standing at the main branch of Federation College: Michael Memorial College, which was named after the revolutionary SSS-rank player who single-handedly created and elevated the position of the Federation in everyone's heart, and all of you also passed the AEET examination, whose selection ratio is 1 in 10,000, so believe in yourself and believe in your hard work."

In the group of first-semester students, one of the students who was dwarfed by another student grumbled, "That was hard work? That was labor work."

No one sympathized, because all of them were victims of the grueling training, harsh memorization of every monster's features, identification of herbs, and so on, and all for today.

"Anyways, that's all I have to say, and you can drip blood on the cubical material."

Biting his finger, Sam dripped blood on the cubical material, and in the next moment, he felt a very magical feeling, as if something inside him radiated a very warm and soothing aura to calm the soul. All the turbulence and chaos ceased to exist, and when he opened his eyes, he was standing in a bustling crowd.

"Special offers for newbie protection: 10k U.C. for 10 hours."

"Selling beginner-grade item for 20k."

Suddenly, Sam jolted, and a string of words started to resonate.

"Hoho."

Sam looked at the panel and felt that his heart was about to explode with excitement, and his breath became ragged. SSS Talent? I did it. I didn't fail my family. All those efforts didn't go to waste on me.

He suddenly felt that somehow the weight on his shoulders loosened, and all those anxieties and panic which were bubbling inside him, and the fear of not getting at least S-grade, which was killing him slowly yet dreadfully, now drifted far away from his vision.

"Hahah."

Sam had never felt as happy as he did today, but now all that was left for him was to live up to his expectations, and he decided to carefully explore the status panel.

"Deep-Lost Sanctuary? Gold Valley Shelter? As I expected," murmuring under his breath, Sam's eyes overlooked the bustling flea market, and the veteran players were already booing the newbies to buy.

As the quality of players continued to increase, they also set up this sanctuary as a base for newbies to spawn, because this was a full-fledged sanctuary and already too well developed. At least the newbies were secured within the shelter. This was all basic knowledge and also the basic knowledge that one should have.

Shaking his head to clear up all the miscellaneous information, his grin stretched across his face, but soon he regained his composure and his gaze fell on the panel.

Name was registered under the Player row.

Health Point, Mana Point, and rank are okay, since I'm a newbie.

W...What? Wait? I've already awakened both Main and Side Profession. But wasn't Side Profession awaken when you attain Mysterious Certificate Holder rank? And both profession has unique attribute.

A brilliant light seemed to flash through Sam's eyes.

Curiously, his finger tapped on the Main Profession, and the panel changed.

Main Profession: Lord of all classes

Attribute: Unique [Only one instance of this class will exist]

Authority: Shop [Lv.1]

Shop Points: 0

Description: What Profession you desire? You'll get all.

Shop Authority? I like it. His eyes sparkled, because it was taught in the syllabus of "Overview of Status Panel" that only Unique Professions had an absolute guarantee to have authority, while minor professions also had the chance to have authority, but it's all about luck.

Unable to resist, his finger pressed without giving much thought, since the explanation lay before him.

Authority: Shop

Level: 1

Shop Points: 0 [Exchange rune crystal to obtain shop points]

Profession: [Attributeless], [Unique attribute]

Wh..What? I can buy unique profession? Doesn't that mean... Controlling the urge to laugh aloud, he calmed down his hitched breath and decided to explore the profession till his turbulent heart could hold down the surging waves.
