Ch 5:
They arrived at the abandoned industrial district. The lab's address led them to a nondescript building. Jin-Woo's gut told him they were close to the truth.
Jin-Woo and Tae-Oh approached the lab's entrance, their footsteps echoing in the deserted alley. The air was thick with tension as they pushed open the heavy metal door.
Inside, they found a maze of corridors and dimly lit rooms. A sign on the wall read "Project Echo: Confidential."
Tae-Oh's eyes scanned the area. "This looks like a research facility. I think Soo-Young was investigating Project Echo before she died."
Jin-Woo's phone buzzed - a text from Alex Chen: "Room 304. Look for the files."
They moved cautiously, finding Room 304 locked. Jin-Woo picked the lock, and they entered a cluttered office with a computer and scattered papers.
On the screen, a video log played: Soo-Young's face appeared, recording a message. "If you're watching this, I've been silenced. Project Echo is real. They're using it to—"
The video cut off abruptly.
Jin-Woo's eyes widened as he found a file marked "Echo Dossier." Inside, he discovered documents linking Hyundong Inc. to a secret government project involving genetic experimentation.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed outside. Jin-Woo and Tae-Oh exchanged a look - someone was coming.
