Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Fairy Tail

Magnolia—a historic magic commerce city.

Beyond the towering Kardia Cathedral at its center stood a single guild:

Fairy Tail.

"So this is Magnolia… it's completely different from the Northern Continent," Gray and Lyon bounced around like wild creatures, eyes shining as they looked everywhere at once.

Ultear was just as curious, but she restrained herself, staying obediently beside Arlen and Ul.

Ul smiled gently, patting her daughter's head. "Let's head to the guild first. After that, we'll explore properly."

"Okay!" Ultear nodded eagerly.

"Gray! Lyon! Get back here—we're leaving!" Ul called out.

"…Coming!"

Bonk! Bonk!

"Don't run around!" Ul scolded.

"Sorry!!" ×2

Arlen watched the scene, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly. "…Let's go."

Soon, they arrived at the highest point in Magnolia.

There stood a single, iconic building—

Fairy Tail.

Arlen looked up at the emblem: a simple fairy silhouette, with the words FAIRY TAIL beneath it.

He pushed the door open.

Silence.

The once rowdy guild hall fell completely quiet.

All eyes turned toward them.

Including—

The small old man sitting at the bar.

Arlen and Ul's gazes locked onto him immediately.

White shirt. Orange coat. Jester-like hat with horns.

A staff in hand.

Makarov Dreyar.

Guild Master of Fairy Tail.

One of the Ten Wizard Saints.

"Are you here to join the guild?" Makarov asked.

He had already sensed their magic from outside—especially Arlen and Ul.

"Yes," Arlen stepped forward. "I am Arlen Viviamilio. I wish to join Fairy Tail."

"…Viviamilio…" Makarov murmured, then suddenly froze.

"…Wait. Did you say—Arlen Viviamilio?"

"Yes."

Makarov studied him carefully.

"…So you're the son of Duke Yass. Impressive. At your age, with that level of magic…"

Then he asked:

"Why do you seek magic?"

Arlen answered without hesitation:

"To protect my family… and those I cherish."

"…Good."

Makarov smiled.

"You're in."

Arlen blinked internally.

That easy? No test?

"…Thank you, Master."

Makarov then turned to Ul.

"You're Ul, the newly appointed Wizard Saint. I've heard about you—defeating Deliora."

Ul shook her head. "It wasn't just me. Arlen played a major role."

Makarov nodded calmly.

"I can tell."

He had already sensed it.

Arlen—though slightly below Ul—was among the top of S-Class.

"…So," Makarov leaned forward slightly, eyes gleaming, "will you join Fairy Tail?"

Join. Join. Join.

His inner thoughts were practically shouting.

Ul hesitated…

Then glanced at Ultear, Gray, Lyon—and Arlen.

"…Alright. I'll join."

YES! Makarov cheered internally.

"We're joining too!" Gray and Lyon said instantly.

"As long as Mom and Lord Arlen are here, so am I," Ultear added softly.

Makarov's serious face instantly broke into a wide grin.

"Excellent! Then all five of you—welcome to Fairy Tail!"

He raised his mug high.

"Listen up! We've got new family members! Let's celebrate!"

"OOOOHHHH!!!"

Chaos.

Pure, glorious chaos.

Mugs flew. Plates clattered. People cheered, drank, and fought all at once.

"STOP BREAKING THINGS, YOU IDIOTS!!" Makarov roared.

No one listened.

Moments later—

He joined the drinking.

"…This is amazing," Gray and Lyon stared, eyes glowing.

"So this is a guild…"

Ul held her forehead. "…Is this really okay…?"

Ultear sparkled with excitement. "Everyone feels so alive…"

Arlen stood quietly, watching.

A rare smile appeared on his face.

"…This is Fairy Tail."

"Freedom. Equality. Warmth."

"Exactly as I imagined."

"Come here," Makarov called, holding the guild stamp.

"One by one."

Arlen — gold, right hand.

Ul — blue, left wrist.

Ultear — blue, right wrist.

Gray — black, chest.

Lyon — white, chest.

"From now on—you're family."

BOOM!

A chair smashed through the door.

Makarov's face turned green.

"I SAID STOP BREAKING THINGS!!!"

…And then—

He went back to drinking.

Laughter echoed.

The guild roared with life.

And just like that—

A new chapter began.
