Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

That night, Izuku Midoriya was added to a group chat created by Tenya Iida.

DEKU: Hello, everyone.

Momo Yaoyorozu: Who is this?

Ochaco Uraraka: I know! It's Izuku-kun.

Toru Hagakure: Wow, so many people joined already? Iida's fast.

Tenya Iida: Midoriya, please change your name as soon as possible. It may cause misunderstandings.

Izuku Midoriya: Sorry, that's my fault.

After staring at his phone for half an hour, Izuku finally set it aside. He organized his books for tomorrow's classes, then glanced at the sandbags and iron weights beside him.

"…The new weights won't arrive until tomorrow…"

"…But these aren't enough anymore…"

"…Should I still wear them tomorrow?"

After thinking for a moment, he picked up his phone again.

Izuku Midoriya: I have a question for everyone.

Tenya Iida: What is it?

Denki Kaminari: Please don't let it be about studying. I won't understand.

Izuku Midoriya: The 60 kg of sandbags and weights I currently use for training are no longer enough for me. The new equipment won't arrive until tomorrow, so I was wondering… should I still wear the 60 kg to school tomorrow?

The chat instantly exploded.

Tenya Iida: !!! Midoriya, you train that hard?!

Minoru Mineta: Are you serious… or just showing off?

Momo Yaoyorozu: If you need them immediately, I can provide them.

Izuku Midoriya: Really?! That would help a lot! Thank you, Yaoyorozu!

Momo Yaoyorozu: My Quirk is Creation, after all. How much do you need?

Izuku Midoriya: …Then 30 kg for now. The rest will arrive tomorrow.

Tenya Iida: As expected… someone this strict with himself can enter U.A. Midoriya, could you share your training routine with us?

Izuku Midoriya: I'm not sure that's a good idea. It might mislead people.

Tenya Iida: It's fine. We'll treat it as reference.

Kyoka Jiro: I'm curious too.

Minoru Mineta: Stop bragging already.

Denki Kaminari: Yeah, I want to see it too.

Eijiro Kirishima: Same here.

Izuku Midoriya: …Alright.

Izuku pulled out three of his training notebooks, flipped through them, took photos, and sent them into the group.

Silence.

Izuku Midoriya: …What's wrong? Why did everyone stop talking?

Minoru Mineta: Be honest… is this even a human training plan?

Denki Kaminari: Or are you not human at all?!

Izuku Midoriya: ???

Tenya Iida: Ahem… I do not recommend anyone follow this plan. Midoriya, your training is… extraordinary.

Eijiro Kirishima: This is seriously hardcore.

Kyoka Jiro: These plans prove you weren't born strong… you built yourself up.

Denki Kaminari: But running 20 kilometers every morning is insane… I was already dying after 3,000 meters today.

Minoru Mineta: I'm shutting down.

Mashirao Ojiro: Midoriya, wouldn't this kind of training destroy your body?

Izuku Midoriya: It was really tough at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes manageable. I started with just 5 kg. No one can handle high intensity from the beginning.

Minoru Mineta: I'm out. I'll just think about how to get closer to Yaoyorozu instead.

Denki Kaminari: Yeah… good luck with that.

Izuku glanced at the chat one last time, then opened his diary.

"February 17 — Today…"

Meanwhile—

Bakugo Katsuki happened to check his phone and saw the three training plans Izuku had shared.

"…Damn nerd…"

The next morning—

Momo Yaoyorozu walked into the classroom carrying a large box.

"Can someone help me? This is really heavy!"

Iida immediately stepped forward and helped her set it down.

"Yaoyorozu, what's inside? It's quite heavy."

"Didn't I say I'd prepare 30 kg of weights for Midoriya? This is it."

She wiped sweat from her forehead.

"…I didn't expect it to be this heavy…"

"So it's for Midoriya."

Just then, the classroom door opened.

Izuku Midoriya walked in.

"Iida, did you call me?"

"Midoriya, perfect timing. Here—your weights."

"Thank you so much, Yaoyorozu!"

Izuku opened his jacket—

Revealing a shirt lined with small hidden pockets.

"What are you doing…?"

"These weights are easier to carry this way."

He calmly began inserting the iron pieces into the pockets sewn into his clothes.

"Yes… I modified my uniform for this."

A few minutes later—

He finished.

Four sandbags remained—about 20 kg total.

"What about those?"

"I'll attach two to my arms and two to my legs."

He smiled as he secured them in place.

"…You're insane," Mineta muttered.

"The next step is adapting to the new weight. Normally I'd run outside, but since class is about to start…"

"…I'll use another method."

"What method?"

Izuku pulled two grip strength trainers from his bag.

"One for the arms…"

"And one for the legs."

"…That's actually kind of impressive."

"It's nothing special. Just part of the plan."

"Sometimes when I'm tired, I only do ten sets of push-ups at night."

"…How many per set?"

"…One hundred."

"…I shouldn't have asked."

Mineta collapsed back into his seat.

"Hey! What are you all doing over there? Save it for after class!"

Present Mic had arrived.

"This is English class, yeah?! Let's go!"

His class was energetic—but still exhausting.

Even so, Izuku listened carefully—

While continuing to train his grip strength.

Time passed quickly.

Soon, it was lunch.

U.A.'s cafeteria was run by the cooking hero: Lunch Rush.

"Ah… pork cutlet rice really is the best."

"So that's your favorite, Izuku?"

"Yes. It's nutritionally balanced—carbohydrates, protein, and vegetables."

"…That's such a serious answer."

"…But my mom's version is still the best."

"Of course. Nothing beats a mother's cooking."
