Not only the villagers, but even people from nearby villages preferred to get their clothes stitched at "MH. Salim's shop."
The reason wasn't just his excellent tailoring…
It was his nature and honesty.
Salim bhai was known as a kind-hearted, sincere, and trustworthy man. Over the years, he had built a unique identity for himself in the village.
There had never been a single instance where he failed to deliver clothes on the promised date.
Because of this, people had complete trust in him.
One day, a villager named Shyamlal came to his shop to get a pair of pants stitched.
"Salim bhai, I have to attend a wedding the day after tomorrow… will the clothes be ready on time?" Shyamlal asked with a bit of concern.
Salim bhai smiled while continuing to work on his sewing machine.
"Don't worry, Shyamlal ji. Your clothes will be ready by tomorrow morning."
Shyamlal laughed.
"That's exactly why the whole village comes to you for stitching, Salim bhai."
His shop had become known as the most reliable tailoring shop in the village.
Salim bhai had come to this village nearly 25 years ago, after his marriage to Salma. Since then, he had been living here with his family.
Now, he was around 44–45 years old.
In the same village lived another family, whose name alone brought respect to people's faces.
This was the family of Vivek Verma.
Vivek Verma was around 53 years old and was considered one of the most respected and honest individuals in the village.
His daughter was already married, and his son was 24 years old.
Vivek Verma was always ready to help others.
Whenever there was a wedding in a poor family, he would often take responsibility himself.
Once, a villager named Gopal was deeply worried about his daughter's wedding. Finally, he went to meet Vivek Verma.
"Verma ji… I don't know what to do," Gopal said softly.
"The wedding is fixed, but I don't have the means to bear the expenses."
Vivek Verma immediately placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Gopal, why are you worrying?"
"This is the wedding of our village's daughter… and as long as Vivek Verma is alive, it will be celebrated with full joy and dignity."
And truly… he bore the entire expense of the wedding.
Because of this, the villagers respected him deeply. He always stood by them in difficult times.
Vivek Verma's younger brother, Shekhar Verma, was a District Magistrate (DM).
Whenever there was a major issue in the village, Vivek Verma would speak to his brother and find a solution.
And if the problem was even bigger, his cousin Sunil Verma, who was an MLA, would also step forward to help.
That's why the villagers often said—
"If Vivek Verma is with you… no problem can last for long."
