Synopsis
Decades ago, in the great Kingdom of Oceania, a sacred law ruled over the throne. Before a new ruler could ascend, the reigning Emperor had to surrender the throne willingly. When age finally claimed him, he would step down peacefully and embrace death with honor. That was the tradition. That was the law. Until he changed everything. Emperor Azarus… A ruthless merman feared across the oceans. His body glowed both day and night, powerful and perfectly built. Handsome was an understatement; his presence alone commanded fear and admiration. Yet beneath that divine beauty lived a heart without mercy,Cold,Heartless and Unforgiving. How did he claim a throne that was never meant to be taken by force?Let history take us back thousands of years. Before Azarus ruled Oceania, the crown belonged to his elder brother, Emperor Sabirna. Unlike Azarus, Sabirna was beloved by his people. He was young, strong, and ruled wisely. The kingdom flourished under his reign, and nothing suggested his rule would end anytime soon. But it did.History tells a dark story — one whispered rather than spoken aloud. Azarus betrayed his own brother. He captured Sabirna and bound him in the deepest part of Oceania Hell, a cursed abyss no soul had ever escaped. There were no witnesses, no farewell, and no mercy. Soon after, the records declared that Emperor Sabrina was dead. And just like that, Azarus ascended the throne. From that day forward, the oceans bowed to one ruler alone…Emperor Azarus. Centuries passed under his merciless reign. Until she appeared.Far above the ocean, in Seoul, South Korea, lived a young human girl named Marimar. Beautiful, yet burdened by a life filled with mysterious suffering. Every day felt heavier than the last, and hope slowly slipped through her fingers. Tired of fighting battles no one could see, Marimar made a decision. Tonight, everything will end.Standing before the vast ocean, she believed that if she jumped, her pain would finally disappear. Without hesitation, she stepped forward and let the waves swallow her whole. But death did not claim her.Instead, Marimar opened her eyes at the deepest part of the ocean… inside the hidden Kingdom of Oceania. A world she never knew existed.A world ruled by the feared and ruthless Emperor himself—Azarus. What happens when a human girl is brought before a king who shows no mercy? How will she survive in a kingdom where she does not belong… where she has no tail? And perhaps the greatest question of all. Is Emperor Sabirna truly dead…or has history been lying all along?

Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Triton, Moana… kill me already," she begged the two guards who were pulling her toward the palace gate… one was a merman and the other was a mermaid… She too was a mermaid.

Marilina shivered under their grabs,She glanced at the both of them, the two closest and ruthless guards of Emperor Azarus. But they weren't actually really ruthless to her because they knew her very well. But she messed up real bad and they weren't gonna save her this time.

She crossed the boundary this time. She didn't only cross the boundaries; she jumped into the deepest part of pain and hell because of her own greed.

To her it wasn't just guilt. All she wanted to do was to gather some money to save her dying mother. But she chose the wrong path to raise the money.

What did she actually do?

She stole the priceless jade ring of Emperor Azarus! She was really doomed.

She was able to do it because she was one of the Emperor's personal servants.

Triton and Moana both stared down at her, with disapproval on their faces. They looked away from her.

"It's beyond us," Triton said.

"I don't want to face the Emperor… just kill me and report to the Emperor that I'm already dead… please!!!" Marilina begged.

"It's beyond us, like Triton said. The Emperor is not someone to be easily deceived," Moana rebuffed her suggestion.

"The Emperor might be…" Before Triton couldn't finish his words, a force immediately dragged them to the throne's magnificent hall.

Gasps escaped their throats as they all bowed their heads before the mighty throne facing them… actually it was an empty throne but it carried so much powerful aura. The presence of Emperor Azarus hovered around it, but he wasn't present.

"Please give me a painless death, Emperor!" Marilina bowed her head lower, pleading, because she knew the Emperor would never spare her. All she was pleading for now was a painless death.

Everywhere turned so silent and calm… only the beating hearts of the three ocean creatures could be heard… especially Marilina's… she was waiting for the Emperor's judgment.

She slowly raised her head to glance at the empty throne… but what happened next was what she never expected… gasps escaped her throat and those of Triton and Moana as they watched an invisible force grab Marilina's neck, strangling her so hard she could barely breathe.

She struggled as the invisible force shook her, sending deadly shivers and chills down the spines of the other two ocean creatures.

They watched as Marilina turned into blue water bubbles, disappearing instantly.

They gulped, lowering their heads at once.

Actually, the Emperor had given her the opposite of what she requested… she really dared defy the merciless, ruthless Emperor.

In the middle of their thoughts, a force carried them away. They both found themselves at the mighty bath tuna. Before they could lower their gaze to the Almighty Emperor Azarus, who was having his usual blue butterflies bath, a force immediately grabbed their necks, strangling them both.

Of course they knew the Emperor was punishing them… giving them that punishment for making suggestions about the thief and traitor Marilina. Would he kill them? Would he spare them?

Although he was calm with his eyes closed, they knew inwardly his eyes were burning like blue flames. His usual blue butterflies covered his face, so they couldn't see his expression.

For them to live, they shouldn't dare beg him to spare them. That would have been a nonsensical, suicidal act.

Since they couldn't speak, they decided to say the words inwardly.

"We don't deserve your mercy, Emperor…" they thought.

That minute, their necks were released immediately. They both left the bath tuna without being told.

More beautiful blue butterflies appeared, pestering the Emperor's body, allowing him to relax further into the steamy hot bath.
