Chapter 6 - Three Obsessions

She gathered her things slowly, giving him one last long hug at the door, her arms wrapping around him with that extra clinginess that always made him feel both safe and slightly overwhelmed. "Sleep well, okay? And thank you again for the flower. It made my night."

With that, she slipped out into the hallway, her footsteps fading down the stairs, leaving the apartment feeling emptier than before.

Noah locked the door behind her and leaned against it for a long moment, exhaling a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding.

The silence settled in heavy now, broken only by the distant hum of traffic outside and the occasional drip from the leaky faucet in the kitchen.

He pulled out his phone, the screen still showing that bank notification from earlier, the five hundred dollars sitting there in his account like it had always belonged. His balance had ticked up exactly as the system promised, no explanation, no pending transaction that made sense.

"This can't be real," he muttered to himself again, pacing the small living room slowly, his bare feet padding against the worn carpet. "I died today. Or at least I think I did. And now there's this… voice, this screen talking about spending on the girls to get money back multiplied."

He sat down heavily on the edge of the couch, staring at the phone in his hands as if it might hold answers. The system had disappeared after the flower purchase, just like it had the first time in his bedroom, but the memory of it lingered sharp and clear.

He looked around the apartment cautiously, eyes darting to the windows and the thin walls as if someone might be listening, then nervously cleared his throat and called out into the empty room, his voice low and hesitant. "System… are you there?"

For a few seconds, nothing happened. The quiet stretched on, making him feel foolish, like he was talking to thin air after the longest day of his life.

Then the cold, mechanical voice returned, echoing clearly inside his head without any visible screen this time, steady and emotionless as if it had been waiting for him to ask.

[ Affirmative Host. Yandere Wealth Multiplier System is online and bound exclusively to Host Noah Reed.]

Noah jumped slightly at the response, even though he had expected it.

He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, and spoke again, keeping his voice barely above a whisper. "Okay… explain this to me. All of it. How does it actually work? The multipliers, the spending, everything. And what the hell are those affection meters?"

The system responded without pause, the voice delivering the information in clear, precise segments as if reading from a manual only he could hear.

[ The core function of the System is simple. Every dollar spent by the Host on pampering, dating, gifting, or intimately claiming the three designated yandere partners is multiplied and instantly credited back as real-world cash, stocks, properties, or influence. The final payout is calculated as: Amount Spent × Current Base Multiplier × Average Affection Bonus from the involved partner(s).]

[ Base Multiplier starts at 10x at Level 1 and increases automatically with Host Level. Levels are gained through spending on the yanderes, which functions as EXP. Every ten million dollars spent grants one Level and ten free Attribute Points to distribute among Stamina, Charisma, Intelligence, or Vitality.]

[ Affection Meters Explanation: Each meter (0–100) measures the current emotional intensity and possessiveness of a designated yandere toward the Host. Higher affection directly boosts the multiplier for spends involving that girl. Affection rises through quality time, gifts, dates, and especially through physical claiming (intimate acts). Low or dropping affection risks negative multiplier events or punishment scenarios.]

[ Current Affection Meter Readings: Mia 68/100, Lila 42/100, Selena 25/100. Average across all three: 45/100.]

[ Important Restriction: Spending on non-designated individuals or personal items yields no multiplier or EXP. Only interactions with the three yanderes count toward system progression. The system is invisible and inaudible to all others. It exists solely for the Host.]

Noah sat there absorbing the words, his mind turning them over carefully. The mechanics were straightforward in a way that felt almost too simple, like a game designed to keep him hooked on the very girls who already complicated his life.

He asked the next question that came to mind, still speaking quietly to the empty room. "So if I take one of them on a date and spend money, I get it back multiplied? And the more they… like me or feel attached, the bigger the return?"

[ Correct. Intimate claiming sessions yield the highest potential multipliers due to sharp affection spikes. Group interactions with multiple yanderes can compound bonuses. However, excessive neglect of any yandere may trigger temporary negative multipliers or system warnings. The Host's second chance is tied directly to maintaining balance among the three.]

He ran a hand through his hair, the weight of it all settling deeper. Three obsessions, Mia with her quiet, suffocating care and that sweet smile hiding depths he'd only glimpsed, Lila with her flashy energy and the way she turned every moment into something public and intense, Selena with her cool commanding presence that still lingered from that one heated night months ago.

The system had locked onto all three, tracking how deeply each one felt pulled toward him, and now his path forward seemed to run straight through keeping them happy, spending on them, and claiming them in ways that would push those affection numbers higher.

The secret of it burned in his chest, this power belonged only to him, and none of them could ever know. Not Mia, who would dig with her protective instincts until she uncovered everything.

Not Lila, whose online savvy and dramatic nature would turn the discovery into chaos and certainly not Selena, whose influence and resources could expose the truth faster than he could blink.

Noah stood up and paced the small living room again, the system's explanations echoing in his mind like rules he now had to live by.

He thought about the small test with the flower earlier and how quickly the five hundred dollars had appeared. If he leaned into this deliberately, starting with dates or gifts for one girl at a time, the money could snowball.

His broke, grinding life, endless office hours, scraping by on cheap meals, juggling the complicated pulls from three very different women, suddenly had an exit ramp, but one that required walking a tightrope with all three of them.

He checked his phone once more, confirming the extra balance was still there, solid proof that none of this was just his imagination.

The apartment felt quieter than ever as the reality sank in. Three obsessions, each with their own hooks buried deepand now this secret system tying his second chance to how well he managed them.

Noah exhaled slowly, his thoughts completely fixed on the strange mechanics and the careful balancing act ahead.

He would have to start testing it properly soon, small spends, careful dates, watching how the affection numbers shifted, while keeping every detail hidden from the girls who already watched him so closely.

The night stretched on outside his window, but sleep felt far away as the weight of his new reality pressed down, one calculated step at a time.
