Chapter 692 - The Emperor of Demise! From Dominant Dragon to Docile Old Man!

Chapter 692: The Emperor of Demise! From Dominant Dragon to Docile Old Man!

In a dimension far removed from the mundane peace of Earth.

A world of chaos, mana, and ancient beasts.

High above a sprawling landscape of jagged valleys, verdant forests, and turbulent seas, a streak of white lightning tore through the sky.

It was a dragon. A magnificent, feathered white dragon, glistening like pearl under the alien sun. Electricity crackled around its horns and claws, leaving a trail of ozone in its wake.

This was Kanna Kamui.

Her azure eyes swept over the terrain with a mix of desperate longing and primal hunger.

"Tohru-sama... where did you go?"

Kanna spoke, her voice carrying the soft, childlike timbre of a human girl, yet amplified by dragon magic to echo across the mountains.

She was looking for Tohru. Since her friend and idol had been injured and subsequently vanished after crossing into the other world, Kanna had felt an unshakeable emptiness.

The Chaos Faction was boring without Tohru. The food was tasteless without Tohru.

Finally, after circling the site of the last great battle, her sensitive nose picked up a lingering trace. It was faint, incredibly subtle, but it was there—the scent of Tohru's mana, mixed with the strange, metallic tang of a spatial breach.

"Mmm... Tohru was banished. If I can't find her here, I'll go to where she was banished."

Kanna's logic was simple and direct.

She hovered in mid-air, gathering mana in her throat. The static electricity around her surged, turning into a blinding sphere of energy.

"Open."

BOOM!

A beam of pure dragon breath erupted, tearing a ragged hole in the fabric of space-time. The reality around the tear shimmered and cracked like broken glass.

Without a second of hesitation, the white dragon folded her wings and dove into the void, following the faint spiritual thread connecting her to Tohru.

...

Meanwhile, in another location within the Dragon Realm.

"Hmm?"

Ren stood on a rocky precipice, his hands in his pockets. His perception, which covered dimensions like a fine net, twitched slightly.

He sensed a small, powerful entity—a white dragon—piercing the barrier of this world and heading straight towards the coordinates of his own main world.

"What's wrong, Ren? Is something amiss with our world?" Tohru asked, noticing the slight shift in his expression.

She was currently in her human form, wearing her maid outfit—a stark contrast to the rugged, barbaric landscape of her homeworld. She stuck close to Ren, her tail swaying anxiously.

"Nothing serious," Ren replied casually, withdrawing his gaze from the void. "It's just that your little friend seems to have crossed over to look for you."

"Eh?"

Tohru blinked, surprised. Her tail stopped swaying.

"A friend actually came to look for me?"

She racked her brain. In the Chaos Faction, relationships were often based on power and rivalry. Who would actually care enough to cross dimensions?

"Is it Lucoa? No, she's an ex-god, she wouldn't bother. Fafnir-san? No, he's probably guarding his treasure..."

She couldn't guess for a moment.

Ren knew exactly who it was—the adorable loli dragon, Kanna—but he didn't elaborate. That was a surprise for later.

Instead, he turned his attention back to the current situation.

He surveyed the overall state of this world. To put it mildly, it was a mess.

It was a world perpetually at war. Various races—humans, elves, monsters, and dragons—were locked in an eternal cycle of slaughter. The air itself smelled of blood and burnt mana.

The strongest entities here were undoubtedly the Gods and the Dragons.

And the faction Tohru belonged to, the Chaos Faction, was one of the most feared.

The leader of this faction was none other than Tohru's father, the legendary Emperor of Demise, Damocles.

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

The wind suddenly changed direction. The ambient mana in the atmosphere grew heavy, suffocatingly so.

Ren looked at a rapidly approaching red star in the distance and smirked.

"Heh heh. Speaking of family reunions... Tohru, your father seems to have come to say hello."

"!!!"

Tohru's face went pale.

Her senses, though dulled by her human form, suddenly screamed in alarm. That specific magical signature... that overwhelming, tyrannical pressure...

"Fa-Father?!"

"Wh-what should I do?" Tohru stammered, her hands instinctively clutching her apron.

She knew how powerful her father was. He was the pinnacle of dragonkind, a being who had fought gods to a standstill. The fear was ingrained in her very DNA.

"Don't worry," Ren said, his voice calm and grounding amidst the rising storm. He reached out and patted her head. "I'll have a good talk with your father-in-law."

"Ren..." Tohru blushed at the term 'father-in-law', but the fear didn't completely vanish.

"TOHRU!"

A roar that shattered eardrums and shook the tectonic plates echoed from the clouds.

The red light spot had arrived.

It was a colossal Red Dragon, easily the size of a mountain range. Its scales were the color of dried blood, and magma seemed to flow between the cracks of its armor.

Whoosh!

Its massive dragon wings beat once, stirring up a hurricane that flattened the surrounding forest. The sky turned dark as his massive body blotted out the sun, casting a terrifying shadow over the two tiny figures below.

Ren and human-form Tohru, standing on the cliff, seemed smaller than ants in the face of a natural disaster.

This was Damocles. The Emperor of Demise.

His gigantic golden eyes, burning with ancient rage and authority, looked down at his daughter.

"Tohru! Why have you taken that disgraceful human form?! And where have you been hiding?!"

He was questioning his daughter, his voice dripping with disappointment and anger.

More importantly, his gaze shifted to the insignificant speck standing next to her.

"And why are you standing so obediently next to a human? Have you forgotten our pride?!"

Although Damocles didn't want his daughter to follow the destructive path of the Chaos Faction blindly, and had indeed wanted her to see the world, seeing her essentially domesticated by a human was a slap in the face to his lineage.

"I..."

Tohru's body trembled violently. She wanted to speak, to defend Ren, to explain her happiness, but the pressure was too immense. Her reverence for her father's authority couldn't be erased overnight.

However, Ren never looked up the entire time.

He stood with his hands in his pockets, staring at the dust on his shoes as if it were more interesting than the apocalypse hovering above him.

"Sigh," Ren let out a soft breath. "I really hate looking up at people. It's bad for my neck."

He turned his head slightly to the trembling maid beside him.

"Tohru, do you mind if I'm a little rough with your father?"

"Eh?"

Tohru was stunned. She looked at Ren's face. He was smiling. It wasn't a smile of arrogance, but of absolute, unshakeable confidence.

Meeting those eyes, the panic in her heart subsided. She swallowed hard and nodded with difficulty.

"P-Please... just don't kill him."

"Human! What arrogant words!"

The Emperor of Demise heard this exchange. His rage boiled over.

"You dare speak of me with such insolence?!"

ROAR—!

He let out a deafening roar, preparing to unleash a breath attack that would vaporize the entire mountain range. The air current alone caused the ground beneath Ren's feet to crack and collapse.

But Ren remained motionless. His clothes didn't even ruffle in the wind.

He lifted his gaze slightly, his eyes turning cold.

"Stop yelling. You're too loud."

Then, he uttered a single command.

"Get down."

Buzz—!

The world went silent.

"Gaa-woo!"

The Emperor of Demise's roar was abruptly cut off, choked back into his throat.

It wasn't that he didn't want to yell anymore. It was that he couldn't.

An invisible, terrifying force slammed into his massive body from above. It was as if the weight of an entire galaxy had suddenly materialized on his back.

BOOM!!!

The majestic flight of the Emperor of Demise came to an abrupt, humiliating end. His giant body plummeted from the sky like a stone.

He slammed into the earth with catastrophic force. The ground shook violently, creating a crater that stretched for kilometers. Dust and debris shot into the stratosphere.

"!!!"

Damocles's dragon eyes widened in shock and confusion.

'What... what is this?!'

He tried to push himself up. His muscles, capable of crushing mountains, bulged and strained.

But he couldn't move.

Not an inch.

The invisible pressure pinned his head, his wings, and his tail to the dirt.

'Magic! I must use magic!'

He attempted to gather his mana to counter-attack, to blast this pressure away. But the moment he reached for the ambient mana... nothing happened.

It was as if his connection to the world had been severed. This human hadn't just used gravity; he had imposed his own Authority over the area, rendering the Dragon Emperor powerless.

How was this possible? How could a mere human possess power that surpassed the Gods?

Ren floated down slowly, hovering just above the crater until he was looking down at the massive dragon head.

He showed a faint, polite smile.

"See? It's much more comfortable looking at you this way. Face to face."

...

Tohru stared blankly at this scene, her mouth slightly agape.

Her own father. The Emperor of Demise. The calamity that kept the gods awake at night.

He was subdued. Instantly.

He didn't even get to launch an attack. He was swatted out of the sky like a noisy fly.

"This..."

Tohru felt a shiver run down her spine—not of fear, but of awe.

Knowing Ren was stronger than her father was one thing. She had assumed it would be a fierce battle, a clash of titans.

But witnessing this one-sided domination firsthand was another matter entirely. It solidified Ren's position in her heart as the absolute supreme being.

Ren turned to her, casual as ever.

"Tohru, do you think it's appropriate for me to treat your father like this? Is it too much?"

Tohru snapped out of her daze. She looked at her father, who was groaning in the dirt, and then at Ren.

She bowed respectfully.

"I believe Father was disrespectful to Ren-sama first. This is the lesson Father deserves."

...

The Emperor of Demise heard his daughter's words. Under normal circumstances, he would be furious.

But now, pinned under the heel of this monster, he didn't feel there was anything wrong with her assessment.

Dragons respected power above all else. And the human in front of him possessed power that defied logic.

"Human..."

Damocles gritted his teeth, his voice straining against the pressure.

"Who... exactly are you...?"

The Emperor of Demise intended to communicate formally for the first time. The arrogance was gone, replaced by wary caution.

Seeing that the old lizard had calmed down, Ren snapped his fingers.

Snap.

The crushing pressure vanished instantly.

Feeling the weight disappear, the Emperor of Demise let out a ragged breath. However, he did not immediately fly up or attack. He knew better now.

Instead, the massive Red Dragon's body began to glow.

The light shrank rapidly, condensing until the mountain-sized beast was gone.

In its place stood an old man. He wore a dark, aristocratic cloak and had a long, flowing white beard. He looked distinguished, if not for the dirt on his clothes.

He flew out of the pit and landed before Ren, his expression exceptionally solemn.

He had already witnessed Ren's abilities. He knew that he was not even an enemy in Ren's hands—he was a toy. Probably no one in this entire world would be his opponent.

Ren smiled. "As you can see, I am a human. But not from this world."

"..."

The Emperor of Demise narrowed his eyes. He sensed the faint, unfamiliar aura on Ren.

He also roughly understood what was going on.

"Tohru's disappearance... was because she went to your world?"

"Correct."

"And you... you are the ruler of that world?"

"Something like that."

"Powerful human... no, Visitor from Beyond," the Emperor of Demise said, his tone respectful. "Why have you come to this world? Is it invasion?"

He had no choice but to probe. If this man wanted to conquer their world, the dragons and gods combined couldn't stop him.

Ren shrugged, looking bored.

"Because I discovered that this world is adjacent to the world I am in. The dimensional barriers are thin."

Ren gestured to the chaotic battlefield in the distance.

"I came to confirm the level of chaos in this world. I don't want some random dragons or gods crossing over and disturbing my afternoon tea."

He took a step closer to the Emperor of Demise, his voice dropping an octave.

"I'm afraid you also know that the wars between races in your world are quite messy. It's annoying."

Ren said meaningfully, "If you also think so... I can easily erase the noisy ones. Or perhaps, erase the source of the noise entirely."

"..."

The Emperor of Demise broke into a cold sweat.

He did not doubt for a second that Ren had such an ability. The threat was clear: Control your people, or I will wipe you all out.

Although Damocles was the leader of the Chaos Faction, it didn't mean he truly wanted the extinction of his race. He fought for freedom, not annihilation.

The stronger the life form, the more it understands the rules and balance of the world. Survival is the first rule.

The old dragon bowed his head slightly.

"Powerful Visitor, if possible, you don't have to resort to such extreme measures."

He took a deep breath.

"I, Damocles, am willing to lead the Dragon Race in the name of the Emperor of Demise. We will supervise the dimensional boundaries."

"I will personally ensure that no unauthorized entity crosses into your world. This, I swear on my hoard."
