One evening, they stayed late together.
Lina leaned back in her chair, tired but content.
"You know," she said, "I used to think a CEO like you would be… untouchable."
Adrian looked at her, amused.
"And now?"
"Now I think… maybe even CEOs need someone to come home to."
His smile softened.
"Then I guess we'll just have to be each other's home."
She laughed quietly.
"And work partner."
"Of course," he said. "Partners in everything."
And for the first time, there was no tension, no distance.
Just them.
