Rudra could still feel the hunters' presence in his mind.
Even though they had retreated, their threat lingered like a shadow over the
ruins and the forest beyond.
He had barely returned to Shivgarh Village when the Void
Core inside him began to pulse violently, sending ripples of energy through his
body. The sensation was unlike anything he had felt before — sharp, intense,
yet strangely familiar.
He dropped to his knees, clutching his chest, and whispered,
"What… what is happening?"
Then he felt it — something alive, ancient, and watching.
The Call
It started as a whisper in his mind. Not words exactly, but
emotions and images.
Fear. Power. Hunger. And a deep, unshakable loyalty.
Rudra shivered as he realized the truth: the ancient unknown
beast had sensed him. It had been dormant, hidden for centuries in the ruins,
and now his awakening energy had reached it.
"Show yourself," Rudra said quietly, trembling. "I don't
know if you're friend… or foe. But if we are going to survive, we must
understand each other."
For a long moment, nothing happened. Only the wind moved
through the trees outside.
Then, from the shadows of the forest near the ruins, a
massive figure emerged.
It was black — black as midnight, black as obsidian — and
its shape was vaguely humanoid but also bestial, towering over Rudra. Its eyes
glowed red, but instead of anger, there was curiosity, as if it was sizing him
up.
Rudra felt the Void Core inside him thrumming in response.
"You…" Rudra whispered. "You're… alive…"
The beast tilted its head slowly. Then it spoke — not in
words, but in a voice inside Rudra's mind, echoing like a distant thunder.
"Heir of Mahakaal… I am Kaal. I am yours… if you survive."
Rudra's heart leapt.
"This… this is my companion?" he asked aloud.
The creature's presence washed over him like a storm. He
could feel its strength, its ancient wisdom, and its hidden ferocity. It was
unlike any normal beast — it radiated power beyond what he could imagine.
The Bond
Rudra instinctively placed his hand over his chest, over the
Void Core. The beast did the same, lowering its massive head to meet his
gesture.
A wave of energy surged between them. Rudra felt a
connection forming, a bond deeper than anything he had experienced.
Kaal's essence merged partially with Rudra's Void Core, not
fully, but enough for Rudra to feel the beast's thoughts and instincts.
Trust. Protect. Grow. Survive.
Rudra's eyes widened. "I… I can feel you…"
The beast gave a low, rumbling sound — almost like a growl
and a laugh at the same time.
Together, we will become strong.
Rudra nodded slowly, a smile forming despite the fear. "Yes…
together."
Training Begins
Rudra soon realized that Kaal was not just a companion. He
was a teacher, a guide, and a living weapon.
Kaal nudged him toward a nearby clearing, demonstrating
movements that mimicked combat stances, energy flow, and instinctual reflexes.
Rudra copied, fumbling at first, but the Void Core inside him adjusted with
Kaal's guidance.
Every time Rudra made a mistake, Kaal would correct him —
not with words, but by sending small pulses of energy, showing him how to move,
strike, and sense the flow of energy around him.
By the time the sun was setting behind the Black Ridge
Mountains, Rudra was exhausted but far stronger than before. His senses were
sharper, his reflexes faster, and he could feel Kaal's presence even when the
beast was not directly in sight.
"This is… incredible," Rudra whispered. "You're more than a
beast… you're part of me."
Kaal's voice resonated in his mind once more:
Part of you. But only part. You must grow, heir of Mahakaal.
The world will test you. Many will come for you. Many will fall… but together,
we endure.
Rudra clenched his fists, the fire of determination igniting
in his chest.
"I will become strong… stronger than anyone. And I will
survive."
A New Threat
Far away, beyond the mountains, the leader of the hunters
observed a faint energy ripple in the forest.
"Interesting," he murmured. "The heir has awakened… and he
has found a companion. This changes everything."
A shadow of a smile crossed his face.
"Very well," he said. "Let the hunt begin… slowly. Let the
boy grow, and we will see if he is worthy of the Mahakaal bloodline."
And somewhere in the distance, the forest whispered. A new
legend had begun.
