Chapter 1 - PRISON OF WHISPER

The door slammed as she was too busy figuring out how to escape; she landed on the floor filled with cold iron, and pain surged into her like an addictive medicine as the guards barked, "Lock her in!" I sat on the ground gathering myself together. They can't see me cry, I told myself, tears fighting to stream down with the chains rattling anytime I move!

My name is Adele Luketon, or at least that's the name thrown to the warden office. I live in a world where silence is misjudged as obedience and strength is mistaken for fear. To them I was a serious case, the girl who broke many rules of silence, the girl who said no, once that uttered the division of the world, the girl who brought the first heresy to the community the word 'no.' Don't get me wrong, the word 'no' is said in my community, but not from a woman to a man or a woman to the society. But I, Adele, said no to society, to the rule that killed my mother and my best friend, the rule that made every lady a living mat to be trampled on and used to infinity.

I can tell you I wasn't like this. I was a light that shone and outshone the darkness. My mom told me that my smile could heal a depressed woman, and I believed that until the betrayal. Before they decided I was the problem that needs to disappear. But I promise myself I won't die until the rules are removed. I will breathe my last when I seek vengeance and revenge for those who killed my mother and Mara, the council who made my life cursed. I gnashed my teeth in anguish and pain.

I remember the sound before everything went wrong. Mara's voice, trembling. My mother's eyes begged me to stay quiet. But I couldn't.

The word slipped out of me like lightning breaking the night. And that one word burned everything. I said no to a man, and they called it rebellion. That one word that means you believed in yourself and have the right to make judgement for yourself, but instead they rule it as

treason and heresy.

But let them know they've caught the wrong one. They think I'm broken, because I'm in this prison but they're wrong.

I may be in chains, but my silence isn't theirs anymore.

I will not die until the council falls. I will breathe my last only when I've seen their world burn. I can hear footsteps coming from Who Knows where. If this is where my story ends let them know how it start
