Chapter 100: The Attack of Illusion
Rin raised his hand and gestured to Miguel at his side, making a fist and slowly pressing it downward.
Miguel understood instantly; his footsteps were as light as a cat's as he used the shadows of the battlefield ruins to quickly retreat and hide behind the broken wall behind Rin.
The remaining piece of the black rope cursed tool was tightly gripped in his palm.
He knew better than anyone that without the complete black rope, he could not participate in a battle at the Special Grade level.
Previously, when facing Satoru Gojo, the other party clearly hadn't used his full strength, yet that overwhelming pressure had already made it difficult for him to breathe.
It wasn't until he witnessed the power of the "Reversed Cursed Technique: Red" just now that he truly understood what Satoru Gojo's title of "the strongest" really meant.
This remaining black rope had to be saved for the most critical moment to be effective.
Rin did not turn his head; after confirming with his peripheral vision that Miguel was hidden, his gaze instantly sharpened.
Without the slightest hesitation, he launched the first attack.
Black-red Cursed Energy exploded in the air, transforming into hundreds of pitch-black crows; their "caw-caw" cries pierced the air as they circled densely above the battlefield.
Some dove down, using their sharp beaks to peck at Satoru Gojo in the air, while others landed on the surrounding buildings, forming a loose encirclement that blocked part of his view.
Almost at the same time the crows appeared, the Gargoyle behind him suddenly spread its newly generated wings, its massive body shooting into the sky like an arrow released from a bow, accompanied by the whistling wind!
It locked onto Satoru Gojo, its sharp claws gleaming with cold light as it swiped toward his ankles.
This was the first step Rin had planned long ago.
Use the Gargoyle's aerial assault to attract attention, then use the crows' interference to disrupt the rhythm.
Satoru Gojo floated in mid-air, watching the incoming Gargoyle with not a ripple of emotion in his Six Eyes.
He didn't even raise his hand; his "Limitless" Cursed Technique triggered automatically, with an invisible barrier blocking his front.
As soon as the Gargoyle's claws touched the barrier, they were repelled by a tremendous force, and its massive body stumbled in the air, nearly losing its balance.
"Do you think you can stall me with such petty tricks?" Satoru Gojo's voice carried a hint of mockery, pale blue Cursed Energy gathering in his palm. "Too naive."
Rin did not retort.
He knew better than anyone that the purpose of this battle was never to "defeat," but to "stall."
Before finding a way to break the "Limitless" Cursed Technique, let alone defeating Satoru Gojo, he couldn't even touch the hem of his clothes.
Without the restraint of the black rope cursed tool, the "Limitless" Cursed Technique around Satoru Gojo had no constraints at all.
He no longer had to worry about collateral damage to unrelated targets and could release his speed and Cursed Energy without reservation.
Just as Rin finished controlling the crows to complete a new round of harassment, he saw Satoru Gojo's figure suddenly vanish from the sky!
Even his Sharingan only caught a glimpse of a pale blue stream of light.
The next second, a fierce gust of wind from a fist struck from behind, carrying a suffocating pressure.
"Not good!" Rin's heart tightened; he instinctively wanted to turn and counterattack, but his body felt as if it were being pulled by an invisible force.
Satoru Gojo's fist was wrapped in special Cursed Energy, which actually carried a powerful attractive force, locking his body firmly in place and making even his dodging movements sluggish.
"Bang!"
A dull, loud noise exploded on the street.
Rin's figure, like a kicked cannonball, smashed straight into the wall of the office building nearby; the concrete wall was instantly impacted into a human-shaped crater, and gravel and dust fell down with a rustle.
Just as he was about to push himself up from the wall, he saw a red beam of light pierce through the smoke and dust, blasting toward his position.
It was Satoru Gojo's "Reversed Cursed Technique: Red"!
"Boom!"
The beam of light blasted straight through the entire building, tearing a charred trench several meters wide into the wall, and glass shards fell like a torrential rain.
Miguel, hiding behind the broken wall, felt his heart stop; he instinctively wanted to rush out, but was held back by the "standby" signal Rin had left behind with his Cursed Energy.
He knew that going out now would be futile.
Meanwhile, the Gargoyle in the air, seeing Rin under attack, immediately flapped its wings and dove down, its iron fist smashing toward Satoru Gojo's head with a whistling sound.
But when the fist landed, it only struck an afterimage.
Satoru Gojo's figure had already appeared beside the Gargoyle, his right hand clenched into a fist, ready to blast the Cursed Spirit's head.
But just as his fist was about to touch the Gargoyle, Satoru Gojo's movement suddenly stopped.
His azure Six Eyes flickered slightly, his gaze sweeping over the Gargoyle's body, and a knowing, faint smile curled at the corners of his mouth.
The Gargoyle beside him had recovered, its sharp claws swiping toward his waist, but Satoru Gojo showed no intention of dodging, instead speaking slowly:
"Is this your illusion?"
The moment his words fell, the Gargoyle's figure shattered like bubbles, turning into a wisp of black-red Cursed Energy and dissipating into the air.
Satoru Gojo slowly turned his head to look at the empty street behind him.
It should have been empty, but with the fluctuation of Cursed Energy, Rin's figure slowly emerged; there wasn't a single scratch on his body, and even his clothes were neat.
The Gargoyle beside him was also unscathed, staring vigilantly at Satoru Gojo with its wings slightly spread.
The scenes of being knocked away and hit by the "Reversed Cursed Technique: Red" just now were all illusions created by Rin using his Sharingan in conjunction with Cursed Energy!
On the battlefield, apart from the crows circling the sky and the building that had been blasted through, there were no real casualties.
Rin stood on the street, looking at Satoru Gojo, his cautious gaze hiding a trace of undisguisable gravity.
Although his Three Tomoe illusion was not top-tier, it had never failed against Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerers, or even Suguru Geto and Yuki Tsukumo.
Moreover, Satoru Gojo's Six Eyes possessed a sight with no blind spots, which meant that Satoru Gojo could not rely on shifting his gaze to avoid Rin's illusion like others.
Yet Satoru Gojo had managed to see through the flaw in just a few seconds; this level of Insight far exceeded his expectations.
Furthermore, Satoru Gojo didn't rely on massive Cursed Energy to break through his illusion directly, but rather detected it using his Six Eyes.
Could these eyes not only see through an enemy's Cursed Technique, but also resist Rin's illusion?
"How interesting."
Satoru Gojo floated in the air, pale blue Cursed Energy flowing around him:
"Such a unique Cursed Technique, it really opens my eyes, but what will you do next?"
No joy or anger could be heard in his words, but the Cursed Energy around him became increasingly dense.
Clearly, having seen through the illusion, he no longer had the patience to continue "playing around."
