My eyes widened slightly when I heard Ian let out a quiet chuckle after Asher walked out, and then widened even more when I saw his face turn completely pink.
I couldn't stop a small chuckle myself. "What the hell?" I muttered, more amused than anything.
"Thanks," he said under his breath, still visibly blushing.
My brows pulled together in confusion. "Thanks for what?" I asked.
"He wouldn't have said that to me if it wasn't for you," he replied. "I know it's kind of pathetic that I kept sticking around him despite everything, but I knew what was between us was mutual… he just refused to say it out loud. But today… he actually did."
It was the first time I was hearing him speak this much in one stretch, and even more than that, the first time I was seeing him smile.
