Chapter 8 - The practical 2

The scene shifted to the towering gates of the battle centers, the tension from the students rolling in waves.

Kyso looked around curiously, keeping most of his attention in search of some floating clothes he had come to known very well, but to his dismay he just sees the broccoli haired kid looking like a loser again as the guy with the glasses was yelling at him for distracting a girl while she was trying to focus while holding his shoulders and shaking him as if trying to wake him up.

After failing to spot teru, he concluded she was in another battle center.

...

As he ignored the scene and along with all the other examinees waited for a countdown they all heard the loud voice of the blond man again.

"STARTTTT!!"

The kids blinked, totally confused before the blonde man yelled again.

"What are you waiting for? There are no countdowns in real battles! Run, run, ru-"

He was interrupted as Kyso just started running right away, the students snapping out of their surprise and following after him.

--

Kyso looked around him as he ran, watching the glasses guy zoom by using some metal engines straped on to his calves and then watching a blonde guy with a laser shooting out of his stomach fly past while he threw up rainbows.

Kyso quickly jumped out of his momentary surprise, looking for robots and stumbling opon a three-pointer. A large, heavy-duty robot that who's head was bigger than his body, but kyso didn't panick. He took a deep breath, sliding a glove of his hand and walking towards the three-pointer

He ducked down to dodge a large, green hand from turning him into paste before quickly reaching up all five fingers, the cracks in his hands glowing white.

When kyso's fingers touched the green paint of the robot, the vibrant green turned a decaying grey. Then, the screeching of the robot's engine was replaced by a sound like a million dry leaves being crushed. The grey armor didn't dent, it blossomed into a web of grey fissures identical to the ones on kyso's arms, spreading faster than the eye could follow, then shook violently as a quiet as the sound shifted to a low, heavy hissing, like the static of an old television. Then only a silhouette of the robot remained, before being blown away by a passing breeze.

And as the story progresses into the backround, it is I the narrator making my first appearance! For any of the nerds out here who plan to point out something about his powers, i will provide an explanation to! Entropy, in this form, is the ultimate breakdown of intermolecular forces, the logic behind it is thateverything in the world is held together by invisible 'bonds', Kyso's Quirk sends a discordant 'vibration'through these bonds! It's like a singer hitting a high note that shatters glass, but Kyso hits the 'note' that shatters the very idea of a solid object, Becausehe has no plan or training, he can't 'tune' the vibration. He just releases it. This is why the robot doesn't just break, it unravels. It loses the ability to be 'metal' and becomes 'atoms.'! Now you are educated for the general workings of his quirk!

------

Kyso didn't linger by the fallen dust of the robot and the reminder of the danger of his power as he heard a shout for help from a student trapped in rubble.

So Kyso quickly ran over to find it was a simply ordinary looking girl, black hair, black eyes. But Kyso didn't dwell on her appearance as he ran over, quickly pulling her out of the rubble and checking for injuries.

"Are you okay?"

"...yeah." she coughed from the smoke before speaking again. "Thank you.. um.."

He realized she was asking for his name and quickly replied "Stelzer, Kyso Stelzer."

"Thank you, Stelzer-san."

She gave a deep bow of thanks, before running off to look for robots.

Meanwhile elsewhere, a group of heroes sat watching a large monitor showcasing the students.

The monitoring room was dark, either by choice or poor lighting. Though it didn't seen to faze the heroes present.

"In this practical exam, the examinees aren't told where the villains are. They have to find them in a limited time inside of a wide area."

Snipe remarked, crossing his arms as he leaned forward and narrowed his eyes.

"There are a lot of different requirements.."

Then besides him, sipping a cup of tea as if he owned the place, which he did. Nezu spoke up.

"The ability to asses a situation quickly and calmly."

"The ability to go to the situation faster than anyone else." Midnight added.

Then sitting in a quiet corner, obscured by more shadows than the room was enveloped in remained EraserHead.

"The ability to remain calm in any situation." He added as well, in a tired, flat tone.

Then vlad king added lastly.

"And lastly, the wisdom to clearly maintain peace in any given situation. Those are basic requirements for a hero."

The monitoring kept playing on, Katsuki Bakugo blasting robots into scrap, yuga aoyana blasting through the air with his laser, and tenya lida sprinting past robots.

"This years batch looks promising."

Vlad king added.

"Then let's see how they handle this."

And then someone pressed a big red button labeled 'Zero pointer.'

---

Kyso looked up after helping a student, finding a giant green robot in the sky. Square head, 8 red sensors and humongous hands. The zero pointer.

"What the heck?"

He quickly dodged a piece of debris from turning him into paste.

He looked around, kids were running in circles and some guy even yelled at him to start running but he couldn't as he saw the broccoli haired student leap into the air, a green glow enveloping him as kyso watched him take down the robot with a single punch before getting saved by some girl.

"What the hell."

——

As the exam wrapped up, the teachers decided on the scores.

"The cumulative results for the practical exam are out!"

"I can't believe he got second place with no rescue points!"

The monitor highlights Katsuki Bakugo's name at the very top of the list with 77 Villain Points and 0 Rescue Points.

"The faux villains acquire their targets and draw near them. In the second half, as others were slowing down, he used his flashy Quirk to keep bringing them close and then counterattacked. It's the result of his perseverance."

Then present mic pointed to Izuku Midoriya's score, 0 villain points and 60 rescue points.

"On the other hand, look at this guy. Seventh place but no villain points!"

"What about first place though?"

Everyone then suddenly remembered the first place winner as the monitor showed the list.

"Kyso Stelzer, 1st place. 31 villain points, 47 rescue points."

"The hell? This guy got first place in a one point difference."

"Not bad." Someone in the back commented.

A bit of a lackluster chapter (as any other one I've uploaded is), but this has been in my drafts for a while so I finally decided to finish it and post it.
