Ivy's pov
Nicholas's eyes widened fully in genuine shock the second my teeth sank into his neck.
The entire courtyard froze.
Every single person stopped moving at once. The guards. Father. Elena. Even the warriors fighting moments ago seemed stunned into silence beneath the night sky. Nobody spoke. Nobody dared move.
Because no one—absolutely no one attacked Nicholas Vault and survived.
Blood flooded my mouth instantly, warm and metallic against my tongue, but I didn't care. Fury had already consumed every rational thought inside me.
My hands gripped his shoulders violently while tears blurred my vision beyond recognition.
"You stabbed her!" I screamed against his skin, my voice breaking apart. "You stabbed her!"
Nicholas didn't shove me away immediately.
That terrified me more than anything else.
He simply stared up at me from the ground, while blood slowly trickled down his neck where my fangs had pierced him deeply.
Then suddenly.
"Shit."
