Maren stood up twice and sat back down twice.

"So the delegate?"
"Mine," Yara said.
"You pointed him at me."
"Yes."
"You aimed a man at my head to make me look at a hole I didn't know I had." Maren's ears were flat and her tail was rigid and the air around her chair was warping. "Do you know what that did to me?"
"Yes," Yara said. "I watched all of it. I watched you go into the bathroom afterward and sit on the floor."
Maren's mouth opened.
Nothing came out.
