Very quickly, Lucas encountered a serious problem.
Nagini was enormous.
Far larger than she looked in the films.
Which raised one extremely practical question.
How exactly was he supposed to take her with him?
Then Lucas suddenly remembered something important.
"System," he called internally. "I killed five werewolves myself this time. Don't tell me there's no reward?"
After all, Nagini had personally wiped out the other five almost single-handedly.
Lucas strongly suspected that if Nagini had stolen all the kills, the system would've shamelessly refused to pay him anything.
"Ding! Host successfully cleared a werewolf camp and prevented the Dark Lord from obtaining his future pet. Reward granted: Max-Level Undetectable Extension Charm!"
Lucas's eyes lit up immediately.
"Now that's useful."
He had always considered the Undetectable Extension Charm completely ridiculous.
Newt Scamander's suitcase alone proved how absurd the spell could become. From the outside, it looked like an ordinary case. Inside, it practically contained an entire ecosystem filled with magical creatures living in separate environments without interfering with one another.
And Newt's spell mastery probably wasn't even maxed out.
So what kind of effect would a fully mastered version produce?
Lucas was suddenly very excited.
Meanwhile, Nagini lowered her enormous head beside several corpses.
"Hiss… (Lucas, may I eat them? I'm a little hungry.)"
Lucas immediately shook his head.
"Hiss… (Better not to eat humans. I'll find something else for you instead.)"
He wasn't refusing simply out of morality.
Someday, if he managed to break Nagini's blood curse and restore her humanity, he didn't want her remembering years of casually eating people.
That would absolutely destroy someone psychologically.
After Nagini mentioned food, Lucas also realised he was starving.
So he began searching through the camp for supplies while Cassandra finally emerged cautiously from behind the tree where she'd hidden during the battle.
The first thing she saw was Lucas calmly talking to the gigantic snake.
Meanwhile, Nagini happily hissed back while casually swatting several small trees flat with her tail.
Cassandra stared blankly.
"I think I'm losing my mind," she muttered softly.
By now, she had already guessed Lucas possessed Parseltongue.
Originally, she'd been curious about why he had such a rare bloodline talent. But after remembering he'd grown up in an orphanage, she immediately decided not to ask.
Parseltongue was usually inherited through family bloodlines.
Asking an orphan about his ancestry just to investigate magical genetics sounded unbelievably insensitive.
Even Cassandra knew better than that.
"So…" she said carefully while approaching them. "You two became friends?"
"Yes." Lucas smiled. "Honestly, without Nagini's help, this fight would've been much more troublesome."
Then he added:
"Oh, and Nagini is her name."
Cassandra blinked.
"You named her?"
"No, she told me herself."
Lucas continued chatting casually while searching through the destroyed camp.
Looting had rapidly become one of his favourite hobbies.
Eventually, he discovered the least damaged tent among the wreckage and dragged it over.
Unfortunately, "least damaged" still meant horribly destroyed.
The Obscurus power had simply been too destructive. Everything it touched looked like it had survived a natural disaster.
"Oh right…" Lucas suddenly turned toward Cassandra. "Miss Vole—"
"You can just call me Cassandra," she interrupted immediately.
The tips of her ears had turned red again.
Lucas nodded naturally.
"Alright, Cassandra. What's the incantation for the Repairing Charm again?"
Cassandra blinked.
"You want to repair the tent?"
"Yeah." Lucas looked helplessly at the torn remains. "It's getting late, and we need somewhere to sleep."
Cassandra immediately switched into explanation mode.
"Tents like these usually have Undetectable Extension Charms already attached. Normal repairs don't work very well on magical tents. Even if you repair the outer fabric, the internal enchantments often fail permanently."
Coming from an old wizarding family, Cassandra already possessed far more magical knowledge than most children her age despite not officially attending Hogwarts yet.
Still, she answered properly.
"The incantation is Reparo."
Lucas nodded casually before raising his wand.
"Reparo."
"Of course, simply knowing the incantation isn't enough," Cassandra continued automatically. "You also need the proper wand movement and magical rhythm when—"
She abruptly stopped speaking.
The destroyed tent was rebuilding itself before her eyes.
Torn fabric rewove seamlessly.
Broken poles snapped back into place.
Collapsed sections straightened smoothly as though invisible hands were reconstructing everything piece by piece.
Within seconds, the tent looked completely brand new.
Cassandra's mouth slowly opened in shock.
This was Lucas's first time casting Reparo.
Even fully trained adult wizards would usually need several attempts and a decent amount of concentration to restore heavily damaged magical tents properly.
Yet Lucas had repaired the entire structure perfectly with a single casual cast.
Not only that—
The tent looked newer than before.
Cassandra had seen people restore objects to pristine condition before, but restoring a magical tent this thoroughly should have required incredible skill.
Meanwhile, Lucas had simply waved his wand casually while saying the spell once.
Where were the casting gestures?
Where were the controlled pauses during pronunciation?
Where was the concentration?
Cassandra suddenly bit her lip stubbornly before pulling out her own wand.
She pointed it toward a damaged iron pot nearby.
"Reparo!"
Nothing happened.
Cassandra froze awkwardly.
Then, remembering all the proper techniques she'd been taught, she carefully adjusted her posture, corrected her wand movement, focused properly, and cast the spell again.
This time, the iron pot slowly began repairing itself.
The result was excellent.
Under normal circumstances, anyone would praise her talent enthusiastically.
After all, Cassandra Vole was considered one of the most gifted children in her family generation.
Unfortunately, after witnessing Lucas cast magic moments earlier, she suddenly felt like a complete amateur.
Meanwhile, Lucas stared at the repaired pot with genuine admiration.
"Wow," he said sincerely. "You're really good at Reparo."
Cassandra clenched her teeth so hard she nearly cracked them.
For the first time in her life, she felt an overwhelming urge to kick someone.
How was his magical talent this ridiculous?!
Five minutes ago, he hadn't even known the incantation for the spell!
