Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: That Night

It was raining a lot that night.

Not the soft kind of rain people enjoy. It was heavy, loud… almost annoying. The kind that makes you feel uncomfortable for no clear reason.

Amina was sitting on her bed, holding her phone, scrolling without really paying attention.

Nothing interesting. Same posts. Same people. Same boring night.

She sighed and put the phone next to her.

"I need a change…" she murmured.

She stood up and walked slowly toward the window. The glass was covered with drops of rain, blurring the lights outside. The street looked empty, just a few cars passing from time to time.

Everything felt normal.

Too normal.

For a moment, she just stood there, watching the rain. Then she frowned slightly.

"Why do I feel like something's going to happen…?"

She laughed quietly at herself.

"Yeah, right… like in movies."

She turned away from the window and walked to the mirror.

She looked at herself.

Same face. Same expression.

But something felt strange.

She couldn't explain it.

It wasn't fear. Not exactly.

Just a weird feeling inside her chest… like her heart was trying to warn her about something.

She shook her head.

"I'm just tired."

Her phone vibrated suddenly.

She jumped a little.

"Damn…"

She picked it up.

Unknown Number.

She hesitated.

"Should I answer…?"

It kept ringing.

For some reason, she felt nervous.

But then she pressed "accept".

"Hello?"

No answer.

Just silence.

She pulled the phone away and looked at it, thinking the call had ended.

Then—

A voice.

Very low.

Almost a whisper.

"Don't trust anyone."

Amina froze.

"What…?"

But the call ended immediately.

She stared at her phone, confused.

"Was that a joke…?"

Her heart started beating faster.

That didn't feel like a joke.

Before she could think more—

A loud sound exploded outside.

CRASH!

"Wait—what was that?!"

She rushed to the window and looked down.

Two cars had collided in the middle of the street. One of them was completely damaged in the front. Smoke was rising slowly.

"No way…"

She grabbed her jacket quickly and ran outside without thinking.

The rain hit her face as soon as she stepped out. Cold and strong.

People were starting to gather around the accident, shouting, calling for help.

Amina moved closer, trying to see what happened.

"Move back! Move back!" someone shouted.

But then…

She saw him.

A man standing a few meters away from the crash.

He wasn't helping.

He wasn't talking.

He was just… standing there.

Still.

Watching.

Something about him felt wrong.

Like he didn't belong there.

Amina's eyes stayed on him.

And then—

He looked up.

Straight at her.

Their eyes met.

Her body went cold.

She didn't know why… but it felt like she had seen him before.

Somewhere.

But she couldn't remember where.

Her head suddenly started hurting.

"Ah…!"

She grabbed her head.

Images flashed in her mind.

Quick. Broken.

A dark room.

Blood on the floor.

Someone screaming.

Her voice.

"No… this is not real…"

She stepped back, breathing fast.

The man was still looking at her.

Not surprised.

Not confused.

Almost like he was expecting this.

"Who are you…?" she whispered.

But before anything else—

Everything went black.

Amina opened her eyes slowly.

White ceiling.

Bright light.

A beeping sound.

"Where… am I…?"

Her voice was weak.

She tried to move, but her head hurt.

"Easy."

A man in a white coat stepped closer.

"You're in the hospital. You fainted near an accident."

She blinked, trying to remember.

"The accident…"

"Yes," the doctor said. "You're safe now."

She nodded slowly.

But something was missing.

Something important.

Then she noticed someone standing behind the doctor.

Her heart stopped for a second.

It was him.

The same man.

From the street.

Standing quietly.

Watching her.

Again.

Her breathing became faster.

"You…"

The doctor looked confused.

"Do you know him?"

She didn't answer.

She was staring at the man.

"Who are you…?" she asked softly.

He stepped forward.

Calm. Too calm.

"You really don't remember me?"

She shook her head.

"No…"

He stayed silent for a moment.

Then he gave a small smile.

"Good."

Her eyes widened.

"Why…?"

He looked straight into her eyes.

"Because if you remember…"

He paused.

"…things will get dangerous for you."

Amina felt a chill run through her body.

"Dangerous…?"

But he didn't answer.

He just turned and walked away.

Leaving her there.

Confused.

Scared.

And with one question stuck in her mind—

What did I forget?
