Chapter 165 - Awareness instillation

Within Dragon Nest Canyon, which was considered a forbidden area of the Dragon Clans Territory, not only was the largest treasury in the Dragon Clan Territory located here, but it also housed the largest complex of experimental buildings in the Dragon Clans Territory.

Some of these experimental building complexes included laboratories exclusively for Kalon, and half belonged to other Scholars within the territory and mages loyal to the Dragon clan.

Some exceptionally important experiments that required strict secrecy would be conducted here, or some plans not under the jurisdiction of the Department of Magical Integration, such as the 'Kings of Knowledge' series of experiments, were carried out here.

In a spacious laboratory, two Scholars, accompanied by several apprentices, were gathered around a human whose limbs were bound.

This human was a prisoner, with the marks of shackles on his limbs, which were bound to a bed-like instrument. At this moment, he was staring wide-eyed, his face filled with terror and his breathing rapid, at the apprentice approaching him with a syringe-like instrument. Unfortunately, the cloth strip, like a smelly sock, stuffed in his mouth made it difficult for him to speak.

The apprentice, already extremely skilled, injected the bright red liquid from the transparent tube in his hand into the prisoner's bloodstream, then stepped back, leaving space for the two Scholarmages who squeezed forward.

The two Scholar mages watched the prisoner's reaction, occasionally glancing at the timer.

"Uh," the prisoner initially showed no reaction, but after a period, he suddenly became agitated, struggling continuously. The veins on his body bulged, and his previously terrified eyes became somewhat intimidating.

His skin looked as if earthworms were crawling all over him, and his originally thin body actually became a bit fuller under visual observation.

The restraints binding the prisoner's limbs also snapped and creaked, but these experimental tools were specially made; even if the prisoner possessed the strength of a Young Dragon, he would not be able to break free, let alone the fact that the prisoner's strength had not received such a terrifying increase.

"Red Blood Potion, injected, takes about fifteen minutes to take effect, twice as fast as oral administration," the observing Scholar mage said, but he was not talking to himself; instead, he instructed the apprentice beside him to record this experimental information.

This slender Scholar seemed not to fear the increasingly violently struggling prisoner at all. Instead, he pinched the prisoner's skin and bones, used instruments to probe, and occasionally even used small spells for measurement and reconnaissance.

"Skin toughness doubled, bone hardness increased and continuously changing, muscle strength increased twofold, healing ability increased fivefold, reaction speed almost doubled, overall physique greatly improved,"

Another Scholar lifted the prisoner's eyelid, and after a series of tests, gave his conclusion.

"Life changes are not yet stable, but currently, it appears to increase lifespan by approximately two to five years," the previous Scholar said indifferently while observing the blood, which had been re-drawn from the prisoner, in an instrument.

"Pfft," just then, the prisoner actually used his more flexible and powerful tongue to spit out the cloth from his mouth, opening it wide and cursing loudly: "Damn it, you sons of bitches, how dare you use me…Woo woo woo,"

An apprentice quickly stuffed the cloth strip back into the prisoner's mouth, while the Scholarmage calmly said: "Record that injecting the Red Blood Potion makes one's temper exceptionally irritable!"

After a series of observations and tests were completed, one of the Scholars took the apprentice to compare these data with previous experimental data and then drew a conclusion.

"Compared to oral administration, direct injection of the Red Blood Potion yields greater benefits. The only drawback is that the personality becomes more irritable than before, whereas oral administration of the Red Blood Potion causes gradual changes through digestion, and the personality is less prone to drastic changes."

The Scholar leading the experiment nodded and instructed one of the apprentices: "Take this fellow away and bring another person over. We want to try the effect of direct injection into the heart."

This apprentice was a simple-looking young man. He asked his teacher somewhat puzzled: "Isn't there not much difference between direct injection into the body and into the heart? Why waste time and resources on redundant attempts?"

The Scholar mage glared sternly at this usually obedient apprentice and said solemnly: "The first principle for Scholars in conducting research is rigor. Do not let go of any possibility, and achieve the optimal solution. Go back and copy this sentence a thousand times."

"Also, go tell Germott that the people needed for the experiment will soon be insufficient. We still have Green Blood, Blue Blood, and Black Blood that haven't been tested yet. Ask Germott to send the experimental materials as soon as possible."

"Dad, why are you in such a hurry to contact that big guy? Does that big guy owe Dad gold coins? When I learn this knowledge, I will help you get it back!"

World Tree Ovo was very cheerful during his rest time. Apart from Kalon, this guy only wished to communicate with the two Titanoboas that resided on him. This pride, it was hard to say it wasn't inherited from Kalon.

Kalon shook his head, his long, thick True Dragon horns glowing like legendary divine swords.

"Do you think I'm strong enough, Ovo?"

"You're very strong, Dad! You're almost as strong as one of that big guy's branches. Although that big guy can't move, it's very powerful!"

World Tree Ovo replied cheerfully. The young World Tree did not look down on the Red Dragon because of this. He was born from the Red Dragon and naturally felt an extra closeness to Kalon, so what he said was from the heart.

Kalon could only reveal his smile. He did not ask how many branches that big guy actually had; instead, he gently said, "But I'm not strong enough, Ovo."

"There can only be two types of existence in the world: either a hunter or prey. And I want to be the hunter who always pursues others, not to become someone else's prey, or a puppet controlled and influenced by others."

Kalon's tone was extremely firm, causing the World Tree Ovo to quiet down and listen carefully to his father's unconscious will infiltration and consciousness infusion.

"You need to quickly master and digest this knowledge. I will soon enter a deep sleep. When I awaken from that sleep, that will be the moment I truly embark on the path of the hunter."

"By then, Ovo, promise me that you can bypass the big guy's restrictions and find the world I need on your own!"

"I will work hard, Dad, I will help you, Ovo promises!" The World Tree's consciousness cheered for being needed.

Kalon patted the World Tree's body and looked towards the distant horizon. Infinitely far away, that was where the big guy, the World Tree cultivated by the ancient mages, was located.
