Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Absolute Overdrive, The Primal Core Awakes

The Gilded Kraken rode the crest of the massive, purple-stained wave, its colossal tentacles whipping through the air as it lunged forward to crush the shore.

Tyler Levison braced his weight against the sand, his single remaining crystal anchor holding firm. He leveled his free arm at the descending shadow, his knuckles rippling as a torrent of organic diamond surged outward, broadening into a massive, sloped canopy. The structure flared open like an armored pavilion, reinforced by a thick crystalline shaft driven deep into the bedrock.

The golden tentacles slammed into the shield with a series of bone-shattering impacts. Under the immense pressure of the Warlord's advanced physical stats, the diamond barrier began to spider-web with deep, glowing fractures, shedding crystalline dust into the boiling foam.

Tyler didn't waste a millisecond waiting for the shield to shatter. With a sudden burst of red light, his mass dissolved into the Void-Wraith. He slipped through the gaps of the fracturing crystal, a phantom streak moving at impossible speed along the length of the Gilded Kraken's flank. His eyes scanned the shimmering hide, but the specialized training had left no openings. The muscles were woven together like an impenetrable golden mail.

"You waste your breath, Levison!" Vilgax's voice rose from the depths of the bay, a resonant, prideful rumble that shook the skiff floating far down the shore. "My frame has no seams! You cannot crack what has been forged in the deep!"

The phantom didn't answer. He swept back across the water, solidifying on the blood-flecked sand of the beach. Standard power levels were useless against a biological fortress of this caliber. He needed an error.

Tyler looked down at the pulsing red interface on his wrist. "I didn't want to open this seal again so soon. But you aren't leaving me many choices."

He slammed his palm down on the jagged dial. The crimson glare that erupted was thick, suffocating, and far more violent than before, staining the sky the color of a bruised vine.

Vilgax's triumphant smile faltered. His breathing hitched, his massive crimson eyes locking onto the raw energy radiating from the dunes. This wasn't the measured, defensive output from their previous encounters; it was something ancient, unhinged, and entirely malicious.

As the red fog dissolved, Tyler's expression settled into a rigid, terrifying grin. The absolute intent to slaughter flooded his neural pathways, overriding every human restraint.

Inside the gray static of his consciousness space, Tyler's mental manifestation slowly slumped against a phantom wall, his hands dropping to his sides. The towering, red-eyed avatar of the Carnitrix's core logic stepped forward, watching him with a silent, heavy intensity.

Tyler looked up, his voice echoing coldly through his own mind. "Go ahead. I'm letting go of the leash."

In every battle before this, Tyler's human willpower had fought to suppress the watch's unholy bloodlust. Now, he stepped aside, letting the pure, uninhibited malice of the system take the controls. It was the only way to draw out the absolute maximum threshold of the glitched template.

Tyler opened his eyes in the real world. They were no longer human; they were a pair of glowing crimson slits that mirrored the warlord's own gaze.

"The frequency... it shifted again!" Vilgax felt a sudden, chilling drop in pressure, a weight of pure oppression that made his tentacles twitch with uncharacteristic hesitation.

The red fog split as the Four-Armed Brute lunged from the surf, his four fists moving in a rhythmic, heavy cadence that rained down on Vilgax's golden skull.

"Is that the extent of your wrath?!" Vilgax roared, swinging his massive limbs to intercept the blows, trying to reassure his own mind as much as intimidate his foe.

Tyler didn't stay to trade blows. He shifted mid-motion, his form blurring into a savage quadruped that ducked beneath the sweep of the tentacles, his obsidian claws digging deep grooves into the gold-plated hide. Before Vilgax could pin him, Tyler's form erupted into the Hell-Fire King, venting a torrent of pale violet flames across the warlord's face.

Then came the shift into the Plague-Wasp. A stream of highly flammable, corrosive mucus layered directly over the white-hot inferno.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A chain reaction of concussive, chemical explosions detonated across Vilgax's head, the sheer force causing the titan to shatter the surrounding ice shelf.

"Gah... you wretched creature!" Vilgax's voice carried a genuine note of pain for the first time. The golden hide was burning, the heat seeping through the reinforced layers.

High above the spray, Tyler cycled his form again, his silhouette expanding into the heavy, metal-plated furnace of the Nuclear-Demon. He opened his chest vents, releasing a direct, unshielded pulse of atomic energy against the kraken's skull.

"I can endure this!" Vilgax bellowed, holding his ground through the blinding flash of the detonation.

The mushroom cloud of superheated steam was torn apart instantly as Tyler shifted inside the smoke. The Bio-Hazardous Bolt emerged from the cloud, his hands extended as he channeled the residual nuclear heat into a massive, concentrated current of electricity.

The bay acted as a perfect conductor. The violet lightning arc'd through the saltwater, wrapping Vilgax's entire frame in a high-voltage cage.

"ARGH! GAHA!"

Vilgax's muscles locked, the golden plating humming with a violent, numbing vibration. For all his training, his nerves were still biological, and the current was cooking him from the skin inward.

Tyler's manic laughter echoed over the roaring surf. Given the lack of a cooldown, his mind was combining the attributes of his registry into a seamless, lethal rhythm.

Vilgax gritted his teeth against the shock, forcing a single, massive tentacle through the lightning to strike Tyler down.

Tyler stayed perfectly still, watching the shadow fall over him.

WHOOSH.

A burst of freezing air followed a flash of light. The Winter-Specter emerged, his phantom wings spreading as his body went entirely transparent. The golden tentacle passed through him like wind through trees.

The specter dropped toward the sea surface. The moment his feet touched the water, a wave of absolute zero energy rippled outward.

The bay froze. A dense, reinforced sheet of ice locked the Gilded Kraken in place, the frost rising up his golden flanks until he was pinned to the center of the bay.

"A few inches of frost cannot hold me!" Vilgax thrashed his upper limbs, the ice cracking under his immense strength.

But Tyler was already shifting again, the red light casting long shadows across the ice. The Void-Wraith drifted out of the glare, his long claws dragging across the frozen surface with a sickening screech.

"You said your hide was unbreakable from the outside, correct?" the phantom whispered, his vertical eye fixed on the warlord's chest.

"What are you implying, error?!" Vilgax's crimson eyes narrowed, a cold knot of dread tightening in his gut. The presence before him was no longer a warrior; it was an executioner.

"I'm going to see how well those muscles hold together from the inside."

The Void-Wraith went transparent, diving forward in a single, fluid motion that ignored the golden armor entirely, sinking deep into Vilgax's chest cavity.

The kraken's breathing stopped. He waited, his gold-striped muscles tense, but there was no immediate pain. "My internal organs are as dense as iron, boy. You cannot tear them. You'll only find yourself dissolved by my system!"

WHOOSH.

A beam of blinding, blood-red light burst from Vilgax's open jaws.

Inside the warlord's assignment, Tyler didn't use claws or teeth. He dialed the primary template. A massive, silver-and-red frame began to expand exponentially, rising within the confines of the golden hide.

With a wet, catastrophic tear, the golden armor split. Vilgax's skull fractured along the seams, his entire biological structure pulverized and torn apart from the center outward as a greater titan rose from his remains. The ice sheet turned a deep, solid crimson.

"To die... like a hollow shell..." Vilgax's vision blurred, the light fading from his crimson eyes as his consciousness dissolved into the red tide.

The World-Breaker stood tall in the afternoon sun, the blood of the warlord dripping from his armored palms. He raised his hands, wiping the stains from his fanged visage with a low, rumbling rumble of pure satisfaction. "That... was efficient."

Above the clouds, the steady drone of approaching engines broke the silence. A squadron of remaining Plumber-tech combat drones descended, their turrets locking onto the massive titan standing in the bay.

Tyler's jagged smile returned. He didn't wait for them to fire. He leaped into the sky, his form shrinking down into the sleek, silver-winged frame of the Jet-Slayer as he crossed the sound barrier.

A streak of crimson lightning tore through the sky. One by one, the automated drones were cut in half by the sonic wake, their metallic hulls exploding into the sea until the sky was completely clear.
