"Gosh, I wish I had your hair, Luna. It's so soft and pretty."
I hummed absentmindedly as Bree ran the comb through my hair. She had insisted on helping me settle in for bed, despite me refusing over and over after dinner.
She was quite strong-willed when she wanted to be. The comb glided through my hair, the strands falling around my shoulders, shifting when I tilted my head to the side. With a sigh, I let my eyes fall shut, replaying everything that had happened today.
We had gone for a union meeting at the hospital. Lunas were usually in charge of the health and medical concerns of the pack. I remembered attending a few of those meetings with mom, even though it was years ago now.
Standing in that room, listening to conversations I had once heard her lead, had brought all of it rushing back. It had taken every ounce of strength I had to keep my head up and not crumble. Jayden still hadn't found mom and Stephen, and I was beginning to fear the worst.
