Chapter 79 - Upgrades people!

"Got it. Oh right I also stole Caesar's autodoc. So he'll either let a person do the surgery in desperation or just die outright given enough time." I said casually.

Both House and Jess went silent for a moment to process what I just said.

"An unexpected but welcome variable. With Caesar out of the picture to guide the legion I calculate that within the seventieth percentile it will fracture and devour itself. He will survive long enough for the second battle of the Dam before perishing from that tumor even if he flees to regroup once more." House said calmly.

I clicked my tongue and pointed finger guns at the screen with a grin "That's the idea." I say smugly.

"Yeah sure great but there's a small problem. We are still here!" Jess hissed.

"Pfft, That's no problem at all. You COULDN'T have stolen it since you never even entered his command tent in the camp and have been under the watchful eyes of his legion the entire time. He'll probably assume some NCR ranger got into the camp while my elemental was humiliating his forces and ran off with the autodoc." I said brushing off the concern entirely.

"What about you though?" she asked.

"Ha! I could moonwalk through his entire army and they couldn't even leave a scratch on me. There's literally no risk to me at all. Besides I have a stealth boy packed away still that I plan to use to leave the way I came in with no one the wiser." I say smugly.

"Sound tactical planning if rather superfluous." House agreed.

"Now that that's settled I'm going to send my elemental ahead to clear out the enemies. No reason for you to take any risk now that my magic's out of the bag." I say casually summoning the Dawn elemental from my inventory.

"A energy based lifeform? Such things were only theorized before the war. It's quite remarkable to see one in person even if it's only a magical construct with no mind to speak of." House said intrigued and no doubt scanning the thing vigorously.

"What is THAT supposed to mean?" Jess asked confused.

"Right yeah, I forgot that I didn't actually tell you how my magic works. I'll cover the details once everyone is all gathered up but to simplify it I can summon stuff. Spells, creatures, artifacts, the works. But every creature I summon is a construct, a sort of mindless puppet no matter how much it seems otherwise." I explained.

"It didn't seem very mindless when I was fighting it earlier." she pointed out.

"Oh course not. It was fulfilling the order I had given it. It's a very to the letter type deal. Any order I give one of my summons is executed exactly as I said it. The only exception is if I order something to harm me as that conflicts with one of the rules of my magic where none of them can harm me. It's an unfollowable order, paradoxical in nature and thus void." I said calmly.

"Not dissimilar to the widely recognized laws of robotics that don't actually work most the time. A problem with adaptive processing unfortunately." House said calmly.

"Exactly like that but pertaining to me specifically. I could order my stuff to kill everyone else in the world and they'd go make an attempt at it without issue." I say casually.

"And this thing is invulnerable and untiring." Jess said horrified.

"Not untiring exactly so much as VERY hard to tire. But yes it is invulnerable." I correct her.

"So the difference between hard to stop and unstoppable then. That makes it so much better. Is that your trump card?" she asked and I laughed.

"Oh no, I've got things that make this look like a puppy. Go through this installation and destroy anything hostile." I commanded my summon that immediately moved through the hallway ahead of us.

"You have stuff that makes the thing that left the entire legion kicked out of their camp helplessly look like a puppy? Do I even want to know?" She asked with a sigh.

"It would probably be for the best if you didn't. Though if you have time I would be quite interested in knowing exactly what you do have at your disposal. It would make future planning considerably easier." House said calmly.

"I don't mind sharing most of it but I do have a few that i'll keep in reserve as insurance. You understand." I said casually ignoring the sounds of combat coming from further in the bunk.

"Naturally. I'd be far more concerned if you didn't." House said calmly.

Soon the sounds of combat vanished and there was only silence as the elemental floated back into the room and was put away into my inventory.

"Shall we go give these bots an upgrade?" I asked Jess with a grin.

She nodded and we walked down the steps to the opened doorway that further led to a long wide hallway with windows on either side showing a vast army of Securitrons in standby mode under red light. The rest of the hallway was strewn with the forms of broken turrets, other robots and maintenance boxes. At the far end of this structure was a single server room with a folding out computer Keyboard and computer screen.-

I pulled it out and it booted up, detected the platinum chip and gave a set of options. Namely update, self destruct and full activation. Naturally I hit the update option which made the entire bunk shake as the securitron army shifted awake and into the updated software.

"I hope you know what you are doing giving House an entire army like this." Jess said worriedly.

"He's got an actual plan to drag humanity out of this dark age. Which is better than anyone else can say." I point out.
