Chapter 38 - Wizards, Chickens, and Relocations

## Chapter 40: Wizards, Chickens, and Relocations

Lucy had barely stepped away from the noisy school courtyard to find a quiet corner when her phone began vibrating wildly in her hand. The caller ID flashed *Jimmy*, bringing an instant, relaxed smile to her face. She leaned against the brick wall of the school building and answered.

"Hi, Jimmy," she greeted warmly. "How are you doing?"

"So angry," Kim-Jo's voice pouted through the speaker.

Lucy blinked, her smile faltering in surprise. "Ooh. Why?"

Instead of an answer, a sudden, violent shuffling noise erupted over the line. It sounded like a piece of furniture had just been knocked over.

*"Give me that damn phone, you rat!"* Seo-Joon's voice suddenly roared in the background.

*"No, give me first!"* Lee-Dae yelled, his voice muffled as if he were trying to tackle Kim-Jo.

*"No! Give me first!"* Seo-Joon argued back.

More aggressively loud rustling followed. Lucy pulled the phone slightly away from her ear, her eyes widening as she pictured the absolute wrestling match currently taking place wherever they were. She slowly pressed the speaker back to her ear, fighting a smile.

"Ooh," Lucy murmured, nodding to herself. "I... understand."

Suddenly, Kim-Jo's voice was back on the line, breathless and adopting an extremely dramatic, crying tone.

"Lucy, help me!" he whined desperately, clearly running away from the other two. "These two wicked wizards want to kill me!"

The line went completely dead for a split second before Lee-Dae's highly offended voice cut through the background.

*"You called me a wizard?"* "No!" Kim-Jo instantly backtracked, his voice squeaking slightly in panic. "I didn't! Why would I do that? Am I mad?"

*"Of course you are!"* Seo-Joon shouted, sounding absolutely fed up. *"You are mad! Even the chickens know that you are mad!"*

Standing alone by the brick wall, Lucy completely lost it. She burst out laughing, her shoulders shaking as she listened to the ridiculous, chaotic bickering of the three boys. It was exactly the distraction she needed.

"I love you," Lucy laughed, finally putting an end to the ridiculous bickering.

*"We love you, Lucy!"* the three boys shouted back in unison, their voices echoing through the speaker before she finally hit the red button to end the call.

Still smiling to herself, she lowered the phone, only to realize the courtyard was much quieter than it had been a few minutes ago. She turned her head and noticed a small group of students standing nearby, openly staring at her. Clearly, her sudden fit of laughter had drawn an audience.

Instead of blushing or looking away, Lucy just flashed them a brilliant, confident smile and casually flicked her hair over her shoulder. Let them stare.

She turned to head back inside, but before she could take a single step, her phone vibrated in her hand. *Ping.* Assuming it was Jimmy texting her another dramatic complaint about Seo-Joon and Lee-Dae, she casually swiped open the notification. But it wasn't Jimmy. It was a message from Mrs. Hanuel.

> **Mrs. Hanuel:** *Hi Baby girl. How have you been? Don't worry about us. We have been doing great. Anyway dearest, we are coming home in the next two weeks on Friday. I know you miss us so much and we miss you too. Success in your exams. We love you.*

Lucy stopped dead in her tracks. All the color drained from her face, her eyes widening as she read the text a second, then a third time.

"Friday?" she gasped out loud to absolutely no one. She aggressively rubbed her temples. "Why Friday of all days?"

A heavy groan escaped her lips as she shoved the phone deep into her uniform pocket. The timing couldn't possibly be worse. The boys were currently taking up every inch of space at her place, and if Mrs. Hanuel walked through the front door and found three massive, secretly famous musicians living there, it would be an absolute disaster.

"I will inform the boys later," Lucy muttered to herself, her mind already racing with backup plans. "They need to relocate. Fast."

Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, she turned on her heel and marched back into the school building, her peaceful morning officially ruined.

**Understood completely. No Lucy, no packing chaos, just the boys, their staff, and their manager.

Here is the scene rewritten exactly to your specifications, focusing entirely on their salon prep, their California plans, and their meeting with Jim.

The heavy scent of expensive hairspray and the loud hum of blow dryers filled the air of the boys' private styling room. They didn't have to lift a finger to pack; their hired staff had already prepared their luggage, loaded the equipment, and organized every detail for their trip to California.

Right now, the only thing the BVS Kings had to do was sit in the plush leather salon chairs while a team of stylists meticulously washed, cut, and styled their hair for the upcoming birthday performance.

Kim-Jo stared at his reflection in the brightly lit vanity mirror, tilting his head as a stylist carefully applied a sleek gel to his hair.

"Thirteen hours on a plane," Kim-Jo sighed dramatically. "I am going to need at least three hydrating face masks so my skin doesn't completely dry out before we even land."

"You can just sleep, you know," Seo-Joon muttered from the next chair over. A stylist was carefully trimming the edges of his hair, and he kept his eyes closed, fully leaning into the relaxation. "That is my plan. Headphones on, seat completely reclined, and sleeping until the tires hit the runway."

"Boring," Kim-Jo retorted. "What about our free time? Once we finish performing at this birthday party, we have two full days to ourselves. I am hitting Rodeo Drive. I need new sunglasses, and maybe I'll check out the beaches."

Lee-Dae chuckled softly from the third chair, tapping away on his phone while two staff members carefully steamed the wrinkles out of the designer jackets they were about to wear to the airport.

"You can have the beach, Kim-Jo," Lee-Dae said, not looking up from his screen. "I am going ring shopping. California has some of the best jewelers, and I need to find something completely perfect for Paige before this wedding."

"Just don't get mobbed by fans while you do it," Seo-Joon advised, opening one eye to look at Lee-Dae in the mirror. "We are supposed to keep things moving smoothly this trip."

"Speaking of moving smoothly," Kim-Jo chimed in, gently pushing the stylist's hands away and standing up from his chair. He checked his luxury wristwatch. "We need to wrap this up. **Jim** is already waiting for us at the studio to go over the final itinerary before we head to the airport."

Seo-Joon sighed, finally sitting up straight as the stylist brushed the loose hair off his shoulders. "Alright. Let's get dressed and get out of here. The sooner we meet the manager, the sooner we can get on that plane."

The stylists quickly moved in with their airport outfits, handing them their freshly steamed jackets. Within minutes, the boys were fully prepped, looking effortlessly perfect, and ready to head straight to the studio to face Jim.
