Title: The Unspoken Love
It was a rainy afternoon. Standing under an umbrella on a busy city street, Tithi looked restless. After five long years, she was finally going to meet Ayan again.
Ayan—once her closest friend, yet the one to whom she never confessed her true feelings.
As she pushed open the café door, her eyes fell on a familiar face sitting at the corner table. Ayan. Just like before—calm, but with a hint of tiredness in his eyes.
Tithi walked toward him.
"Hi."
Ayan looked up. For a moment, time seemed to freeze.
"Tithi! How are you?"
"I'm good… you?"
"Managing."
An awkward silence settled between them. Five years of untold stories, yet neither knew where to begin.
The waiter came and took their order. Ayan smiled faintly.
"Remember? You always took extra sugar with your coffee."
Tithi looked surprised and smiled softly.
"You still remember that?"
"I haven't forgotten everything."
The words were simple, but they carried a weight of unspoken emotions.
Gathering courage, Tithi asked,
"Why did you suddenly want to meet after all this time?"
Ayan paused.
"Because… there were things I never said."
Tithi's heart started racing.
"What things?"
Ayan looked into her eyes.
"The day you left… I wanted to stop you. But I couldn't."
"Why?"
"Because I was afraid. What if you said no?"
Tears formed in Tithi's eyes.
"Do you know why I left?"
Ayan shook his head.
"I was waiting for you to say something. But you stayed silent."
They both fell quiet.
Outside, the rain grew heavier.
Tithi spoke softly,
"I loved you, Ayan."
Ayan seemed to forget how to breathe.
"Do you still?"
Tithi smiled through her tears.
"Does love change that easily?"
Ayan slowly reached out and held her hand.
"I still love you too."
A long silence followed—but this time, it was peaceful.
"Then all this time…?" Tithi asked.
"We wasted it," Ayan said with a faint smile, "but maybe it's not too late."
Tithi looked outside. The rain was beginning to slow down.
"Can we start again?"
Ayan nodded firmly.
"This time, I won't stay silent."
Tithi smiled—no hesitation left in her eyes.
Just like the sky clears after the rain, their love found a new beginning.
Sometimes love takes time—but if it's real, it always finds its way back.
