The blue tracking dot on Marcus's screen bounced rapidly as Arthur's car sped down the main highway line. Miles away from the office, Harrison's car was pushing through the turns, the sound of the engine roaring through the open radio link.
"He is moving too fast, Marcus," Harrison's voice came through the speaker, low and tight with control. "Give me a better line. We are two minutes behind him."
"Stay on the current route, Boss," Marcus said, his fingers flying over his keys as he tried to stabilize the data feed. "He is heading straight toward the central city crossing. If he gets through that intersection, he can choose five different paths out of the territory."
Suddenly, the blue dot moved into the dense commercial sector of the city. The tall structures and massive electronic billboards created a wall of network interference. The bright line on the screen began to flicker violently, turning from blue to a faint grey before vanishing completely.
