"Claw marks?" Alice's voice was heard from over the line… and somehow, impossibly… it had become even darker, it was to the point where it almost resembled a growl more than it did human speech.
"Yeah, It's like someone put a wild animal inside here. No idea what happened… I think they got in through a window or something. Anyways, you know where I live right?" Alan asked over the phone as he released a sigh, slightly exaggerated however with the current situation that was occurring at the moment, it wasn't like she would notice anything about it.
"Wild Animal… Yeah… I guess that would be a way to describe them. I mean… however attacked and destroyed your home." Alice said, the first words that left her mouth and were transferred over the phone were said with such venom that i clearly carried through the line, the tone itself held what could only be called pure hate, it felt even worse than what Alan himself was feeling at the current moment and the situation had happened to him. Not Alice in the first place.
'She… sure does sound… over protective… and in a way, it seems like she does have some kind of information on who this could possible be. Could it be that the Cullens and these guys actually know eachother? Unlike with Johana who was from another city… these guys or this thing could be based on or around Forks.' Alan thought as an idea instantly formed inside of his mind as he tried to piece together whatever he could from the information that he was trying to glean from his conversation with Alice over the phone.
"Alright, I'm already in my car, I'll be there in a bit, just hold the line if you need to." Alice said over the phone, her voice having grown softer, losing its previous edge, turning into something that almost resembled words of comfort directed towards Alan.
"No… It's fine, I'll see you when you're here, just come up the stairs, the doors open so you should be able to see which apartments mine." Alan replied, he had no need to keep her on the call when he had other thoughts inside his mind, acting with her was tiring especially if he had to start thinking about what he actually had to do. He had a great ally in the Cullens however at the same time, whilst the danger wasn't inherently from them anymore as he had learned, it was from the system itself, the thing had warned him, if he told the Cullens about its existence, the penalty would be death, a penalty that he didn't want to test or try even slightly, he did not know for sure if he would still get the penalty even if he accidentally exposed himself. And so he was still in danger, however he had chosen to at least do the danger that he could somewhat prevent and try to avoid, which in this case was indeed the system.
Meanwhile the other danger was the thing that had attacked his apartment, he couldn't control that danger in any way, he couldn't even predict when it would occur again either, so he had chosen the lesser of the two dangers to deal with in a way.
"Alright. I'll be right there." Alice replied over the phone before the call ended as the phone showed the call ending screen before Alan flipped it closed once more and slowly stood up from his seated position where he had been with his back against the wall.
Standing up to his full height, he slowly walked to his window and with a single look, it was clear that the attacker had chosen this as his entrance, the window itself wasn't shattered, if one looked from the outside they wouldn't have noticed anything however as soon as Alan lifted his hand and grasped the handle, it was clear that it was broken and barely handing on, the hinges having completely broken as well.
'It just jammed the window back in… thats why It looks normal. There's no fuckin hinges at all, he just crammed it shut.' Alan thought as the entire window just came together with the broken handle, falling down onto the floor besides him.
*Shatter*
As soon as it fell, the glass shattered as well and Alan was left there, looking down at his shattered and completely broken window, his deadpan expression slowly cracking as his eyebrows twitched, a vein starting to bulge on his forehead as he his hands slowly curled up into fists.
'I have to pay for this shit too huh…' Alan thought to himself as he slowly walked closer to what had once been his window and was now just an opening in the wall to look outside, leaning against it, he put his head out as he felt the evening wind softly blowing against his face.
'I wonder… why am I so angry?' Alan thought to himself suddenly, it was a sudden unexpected thought that had just occurred to him as he was leaning out from the window sill.
'I've faced worse odds and I've been angry before, but never… quite this explosively. It… It almost feels like I was betrayed… why?' Alan questioned himself inside his own mind as he tried to find a reason and yet he wasn't coming up with anything that made sense.
