Chapter 310: Forgive My Bluntness, But March Is Not Suitable For You
However, that fleeting thought vanished as quickly as it appeared. Stelle shook her head vigorously, physically tossing the distracting notion away.
"Doing business is absolutely out of the question..." she mumbled softly. Her mind briefly flashed back to her chaotic stint as the interim manager of the Reverie Hotel in Penacony. A phantom headache pulsed at her temples. "Actively earning money just isn't my style. I'm much better suited to simply receiving money... or, better yet, shamelessly freeloading off other people's hard-earned resources."
She quickly shoved the shiny Pass back into March 7th's hands, her golden eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Quick, let's see what good stuff is next! Don't even think about running a business. My true calling is the vast sea of stars, not some boring interstellar trade route!"
"Got it, got it!" March 7th giggled, happily stowing the Pass away. She pivoted her attention toward the second item hovering in the air, which pulsed with a soft, azure glow.
The light faded to reveal an octagonal runestone. Its surface was weathered, etched with an abstract, stylized rooster pattern.
[Chicken Talisman]
[Quality: Blue]
[Source: Jackie Chan Adventures and related derivative worlds]
[Description: A magical talisman containing the source of psychokinesis. After fusion, it grants the user the ability to control psychokinesis based on their mental strength. Abilities include, but are not limited to: making oneself or others float and fly, moving objects telekinetically, forming psychokinetic barriers, etc. The strength and precision of the effects increase with the user's mental power.]
The moment Stelle spotted the familiar octagonal stone resting in her companion's palm, she nearly jumped out of her skin.
"That shape, that exact pattern... you don't even need to tell me the name! That thing is definitely the Chicken Talisman!" She rubbed her chin, her chaotic gamer instincts kicking in. "By the way, just how many of these talismans are floating around out there anyway?"
She began counting on her fingers. "It feels exactly like collecting a set of trading cards. Just counting the ones we've stumbled across so far, we already have the Sheep, Tiger, and Rat Talismans. Now a Chicken Talisman joins the roster... So, what kind of magical cheat code does this one offer?"
Instead of answering immediately, March 7th simply curved her lips into a mysterious, incredibly smug smile. She gently clasped the Chicken Talisman in her palm, her ice-blue eyes fluttering shut in deep concentration.
A second later, under the slightly astonished gazes of Stelle and Mimi, March 7th's boots silently detached from the floorboards. Her entire body became entirely weightless, floating gracefully half a meter into the air. Her vibrant pink hair swayed and danced, caught in the gentle currents of an invisible force field.
"Oh? So it's just flying, huh..." Stelle blinked, her deadpan tone heavily implying a distinct 'that's it?' sentiment. She stroked her chin thoughtfully. "It looks like it has the exact same function as my bamboo dragonfly. This ability feels a bit... hmm, lacking in the novelty department, don't you think?"
Before Stelle could finish her critique, the smug smile on March 7th's face deepened into a full-blown grin. With a mere shift in her thoughts, a surge of mental energy poured directly into the runestone.
Instantly, an invisible, kinetic ripple expanded outward, using the archer as its epicenter.
Within the luxurious confines of their private Bath Palace, a bizarre phenomenon unfolded. Deliberately bypassing Stelle, Mimi, and Little Yue, the invisible wave latched onto every other loose item in the room.
A half-drunk cup of goat's milk on the mahogany table trembled. The decorative Amphoreus pottery jar nestled in the corner rattled against the floor. Dozens of scattered trinkets and accessories suddenly broke free from the laws of gravity.
They wobbled, then rose. Suspended in mid-air, the objects drifted aimlessly as if submerged in an invisible ocean, supported by a gentle yet absolute power. It was a stunning, zero-gravity spectacle.
Stelle stared at the room full of floating debris. Her mouth hung slightly open as she silently swallowed the word 'useless' back down her throat.
"...Alright, I take back what I said," Stelle admitted, her golden eyes widening. "So this Chicken Talisman doesn't just make you fly, it grants full-blown telekinesis over external objects? This ability... it's practical! Extremely practical!"
A brilliant light sparked in Stelle's eyes as a cascade of excellent, highly efficient lazy solutions flooded her brain. If she was too lazy to get off the couch for snacks, she could just telekinetically drag the chip bag to her face. In battle, she could remotely hurl a mountain of random trash to blind her enemies. And best of all... when helping Pom-Pom clean the Astral Express, she could just force all the dust bunnies to float into a single, easily vacuumable clump!
Just visualizing the sheer convenience made her feel like her quality of life had instantly leveled up.
Basking in Stelle's glowing approval, March 7th looked thoroughly satisfied. She reined in her psychokinesis, carefully guiding the floating cups, jars, and trinkets back to their exact original positions. Not a single drop of milk was spilled.
She touched down lightly on the floorboards and clapped her hands together, her cheeks flushed with the giddy excitement of mastering a brand-new superpower.
Then, her gaze shifted toward the final—and undoubtedly most perplexing—blue item from her recent ten-pull.
It was a complex crystal, radiating a captivating, faint blue luminescence. Deep within its translucent core, countless microscopic geometric structures constantly materialized and shattered in an endless loop. It hovered quietly in the air, exuding an aura of infinite knowledge and boundless possibilities.
[Core of the Herrscher of Reason]
[Quality: Blue]
[Introduction: Originating from a world ravaged by the Honkai yet giving rise to countless heroes, it is one of the Herrscher Cores representing the absolute authority of Understanding and Construction. Its core ability is Understanding Replication.]
[Description: After fully comprehending all information regarding an object—including its internal structure, operating principles, and material composition—the holder can consume their own energy to perfectly replicate it out of thin air. The completeness, power, and duration of the replicated object depend entirely on the holder's depth of understanding and energy reserves.]
[Warning: Knowledge is power, but it is also a shackle. Forcibly attempting to replicate an object without full comprehension may lead to structural instability, functional defects, or severe physical backlash. This Core demands extremely high levels of knowledge, analytical ability, and computational power from its host.]
As March 7th read aloud the influx of information regarding the Core of the Herrscher of Reason echoing in her mind, Stelle couldn't help but widen her eyes. She slowly looked her pink-haired companion up and down, a highly complex, incredibly subtle expression twisting her features.
"March..." Stelle began slowly. "First of all, let me just state for the record: I am really not looking down on you!" She raised both hands in a gesture of pure innocence, though the sheer, unfiltered doubt dripping from her tone completely betrayed her.
"But this thing... it sounds like a god-tier artifact specifically tailor-made for high-knowledge, super-computational geniuses. People like Uncle Yang, Madam Herta, or Screwllum, right? 'Fully understanding the structure and principles of an object'? That baseline threshold sounds absolutely terrifying."
Stelle crossed her arms, shaking her head. "I mean, sure, 'replicating out of thin air' sounds incredibly overpowered. You could theoretically create guns, heavy artillery cannons, or even an entire interstellar battleship! But the glaring issue here is... March, can you really fully understand how any of those complex things are actually manufactured?"
She leaned in, her golden eyes locking onto March's. "Do you know what specific alloys are used to forge a Star Destroyer's engine? Do you know how the quantum energy circuits are laid out? Do you even know the mathematical formula to calculate the structural integrity of a dreadnought's hull?"
Stelle's rapid-fire questions struck like a relentless artillery barrage, each one landing a critical hit directly on March 7th's massive knowledge blind spots.
March 7th opened her mouth, desperately trying to organize a coherent defense. She wanted to yell that she could learn, or perhaps argue that replicating a simple ice cream cone wouldn't be that complicated.
But the moment she actually tried to think deeper—attempting to mentally construct the basic structural diagram and kinetic energy transmission principles of a standard-issue pistol—a wave of intense vertigo washed over her. It felt as though thousands of unrecognizable mathematical symbols and physics formulas were violently crashing together inside her skull.
