The next morning, Xiao Wu was woken up by the sound of birds.

She opened her eyes and found herself wrapped in a sleeping bag, covered by Mo Bai's coat. The campfire had gone out, leaving only a pile of ashes. Teacher Mo Bai was sitting not far away, filling a water bottle with dew collected in the early morning.

"Awake?" Mo Bai said without turning his head. "Get up and wash; we'll head out after breakfast."

Xiao Wu sat up. Her body felt a bit sore, especially her inner thighs. She pulled open the sleeping bag and checked—her clothes were perfectly neat, and her underwear was clean. But with the slightest movement, a familiar, wet sensation came from between her legs.

It wasn't much, but it was definitely there.

She blushed. Memories of last night surged up—those cotton papers, that glass tube, the teacher's fingers, and her own uncontrollable leaking... she shook her head, not daring to think further.

Breakfast consisted of leftover roast rabbit from the night before and dried rations. Xiao Wu ate very little; she had no appetite. Mo Bai didn't force her, he simply handed her a pale green pill after she finished.

"Eat it," he said. "It's for consolidating your foundations. You just obtained your second soul ring; your body needs conditioning."

Xiao Wu obediently swallowed it. The pill had no taste, but after swallowing it, she felt her lower abdomen grow warm, and that annoying wetness seemed to lessen slightly.

Having packed up the camp, the two set off on the road back to Notting City.

The morning in the forest was very quiet, with only the sound of footsteps and occasional bird calls. Xiao Wu followed half a step behind Mo Bai, her head bowed, watching her teacher's boots step on the fallen leaves. She had many questions she wanted to ask, but the words died in her throat.

Ultimately, Mo Bai spoke first.

"After we go back, do not use the second soul skill in front of others for the time being," he said. "If anyone asks, say your second soul skill is 'Soft-Bone Strengthening,' which enhances your body's flexibility."

Xiao Wu nodded, then asked softly: "Then... then when can I use it?"

"When I allow it," Mo Bai said. "'Spring Stream' is not a combat soul skill; it is only used when I need it. Understood?"

"...Understood."

After walking for a while, Xiao Wu asked again: "Teacher, am I... have I become very strange?"

Mo Bai stopped, turning to look at her. The morning light filtered through the leaves and fell on his face in patches of light and shadow.

"What do you mean by strange?" he countered.

"I... my soul skill..." Xiao Wu's face turned red again. "Other Soul Masters enhance their combat power, but mine... mine is... that kind..."

"That kind?" Mo Bai raised an eyebrow. "Speak clearly."

Xiao Wu couldn't say it. She twisted her fingers, tears welling in her eyes.

Mo Bai sighed—it wasn't out of helplessness, but more like a pedagogical patience.

"Xiao Wu, in the world of Soul Masters, power takes many forms," he said. "Some fight with fists, some with fire, some with ice. And your power... lies in your body itself."

He reached out, pinched her chin, and lifted her face.

"Your first soul ring, 'Charm Bone,' made your skin more sensitive and your body more flexible. This in itself is a weapon—a weapon to confuse enemies, a weapon to please me. Your second soul ring, 'Spring Stream,' turns the inside of your body into a warm nest. This is another kind of weapon—a weapon to keep me, a weapon to make me willing to spend time on you."

His thumb rubbed her lips.

"So don't think it's strange. You are simply walking a... different path. A path that belongs only to you, and serves only me."

Xiao Wu looked at him, and her tears finally fell. But this time, it wasn't out of shame or fear, but a kind of... relief.

So that's how it is.

So my soul skill isn't useless.

So I can be useful too—even if the way I'm used is different from others.

"I understand, Teacher," she said hoarsely. "I will... I will use these soul skills well. Only for you."

Mo Bai released her and continued walking forward.

"Keep up."

It was already afternoon when they returned to Notting Academy.

In front of the working student dormitory, Wang Sheng and several children were playing. Seeing Xiao Wu return, Wang Sheng's eyes lit up and he ran over.

"Xiao Wu! You're back! Was obtaining the soul ring successful? What is your second soul skill?"

Xiao Wu instinctively looked at Mo Bai. Mo Bai gave her a slight nod.

"It... it was okay." Xiao Wu struggled to make her smile look natural. "The second soul skill is 'Soft-Bone Strengthening,' it makes my body more flexible."

"Wow! Doesn't that go perfectly with your first soul skill, 'Waist Bow'?" Wang Sheng said excitedly. "You'll be even better at fighting now!"

Xiao Wu managed a forced smile. She felt her crotch get a bit wet again—it wasn't an activation of the soul skill, just a reactive response. Every time she thought about her true soul skill, her body would react this way.

"Xiao Wu is tired." Mo Bai stepped forward, standing between Xiao Wu and Wang Sheng. "Let her rest first. We'll talk about anything else tomorrow."

Wang Sheng held a bit of awe for Teacher Mo Bai and quickly nodded: "Yes, Teacher! Xiao Wu, get some good rest!"

Returning to the teacher's dormitory area, Mo Bai's room was at the very end of the corridor, relatively quiet. Only after closing the door and shutting out the noise from outside did Xiao Wu breathe a sigh of relief.

"Go take a bath." Mo Bai pointed to the bathroom. "Change of clothes is in the cupboard. Come see me in the study after you're washed."

Xiao Wu nodded. She went into the bathroom, locked the door, and took off her clothes. The mirror reflected her body—her skin was fair, and because she had just obtained her second soul ring, her whole person seemed to have filled out a bit more; the curves of her chest were more pronounced, yet her waist was thinner.

She looked at herself in the mirror, her hand slowly sliding to her lower abdomen.

She circulated her soul power slightly.

A familiar heat surged out, flowing down the root of her thighs. In the mirror, her face turned red, and her eyes grew watery.

It really... has become different.

Before, her body was just a body. Now, this body seemed to have its own consciousness; it would grow hot when she thought of her teacher, and grow moist when she heard her teacher's voice.

She turned on the faucet and let the warm water wash over her body. Her fingers unconsciously slid between her legs, where it was wet and hot. She thought of the teacher's fingers from last night, thought of that glass tube, thought of the way the cotton paper was soaked through...

"Mm..."

She bit her lip, her finger lightly pressing on that little bead of flesh. Soul power surged over uncontrollably, the effect of "Spring Stream" was triggered, and more liquid poured out, mixing with the bathwater.

No.

I can't do this.

Teacher is waiting.

Xiao Wu forced herself to stop, hurriedly finished her bath, and dried her body. There were indeed clothes prepared in the cupboard—not her usual working student uniform, but a pale pink dress made of soft material, knee-length, with lace trim at the neckline.

She put it on; it fit perfectly. Walking to the mirror, she froze.

The dress fit well, making her skin look whiter and her waist thinner. But most importantly... beneath the skirt, she was wearing no underwear.

Teacher Mo Bai had not prepared any.

Or rather, he had intentionally not prepared any.

Xiao Wu's face burned. She hesitated for a moment, then pushed open the bathroom door and walked out.
