Hajin tugged at his formal coat's tight collar while the four of them approached the palace gates.
'What a complete waste of good gold on all this stiff, useless fabric.'
He had spent over twenty gold on formal clothing for the entire group. Juna wore a long gray gown cut high enough that her tail could move without dragging the fabric.
Loccy wore a blue dress and kept adjusting its hem to protect her footing on the palace cobbles.
Vella had chosen a deep cyan dress with gold embroidery and elegant heels that clicked like a metronome.
"I cannot run properly in this thing," Juna said while she tested the gown with one long, suspicious stride.
"The side seam opens above your knee, so you can run," Vella replied while showing Juna the concealed split. "You simply cannot pretend this dress is real armor for battle."
Juna found the seam and gave the tailor her first silent approval of the evening.
