The next morning, you arrived at the university a little earlier than yesterday. The huge campus still felt unfamiliar, but at least now you knew one thing for sure… you weren't completely alone anymore.
As you walked through the hallway holding your books close to your chest, students whispered around you.
"Did you see her yesterday with Jungkook?"
"She's the new girl, right?"
"Why would Jungkook help her?"
You lowered your gaze, feeling nervous from all the attention.
Suddenly, someone tapped your shoulder.
You turned around and saw Jungkook standing there in his black hoodie, one hand inside his pocket while the other held two cups of coffee.
"You came early," he said calmly.
"O-oh… yeah." you said
He handed one cup to you. "Here."
Your eyes widened. "For me?"
He nodded. "You looked half asleep yesterday."
A small smile appeared on your face. "Thank you."
For a few seconds, silence surrounded both of you, but strangely… it wasn't awkward.
Before you could say anything, a cheerful voice interrupted.
"Jungkook! There you are!"
A handsome boy with bright eyes walked toward both of you along with a girl beside him.
"This is Taehyung," Jungkook said shortly. "And this is Jennie"
Jennie smiled warmly. "You're the new student everyone's talking about."
Your cheeks turned pink. "Everyone?"
Taehyung laughed dramatically. "Of course! Nobody has ever seen Jungkook help someone before."
Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Stop talking."
You couldn't help but giggle softly.
For the first time since coming to Hanual University, your nervousness started fading away.
But not everyone seemed happy.
From the other side of the hallway, a girl stood silently watching you.
She wore expensive clothes, had sharp makeup, and her eyes were locked directly on you.
"Who is she?" she asked coldly.
One of her friends answered carefully, "She's the new girl Jungkook helped yesterday."
The girl's expression darkened immediately.
"Interesting…"
Back near the classroom, Jungkook suddenly spoke.
"Be careful around some people here."
You looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?"
But before he could answer, the professor entered the class.
"Everyone, take your seats."
You sat beside Jennie while Jungkook sat near the window quietly.
During the lecture, you noticed something strange.
Even though Jungkook looked calm and distant… many students seemed afraid of him.
Some avoided eye contact.
Some whispered his name nervously.
And somehow…
It made you even more curious about him.
Who exactly was Jungkook?
And why did everyone fear him so much?
