It's a brand new day. After tonight, Xeno will officially be fully healed. Finally, he'll be able to redo what he once could.
Xeno: 'Some part of me is going to miss being crippled.' Xeno thought, resting under the shade of a tree.
Don't get him wrong, he is overjoyed to have his mobility back. It's just that he can no longer use his disability to his advantage anymore.
He can't slack off during work now. I mean, he can, or rather, will just continue using Envy to do his butler duties. Ram will just complain a lot more going forward.
There's also the fact that Emilia primarily spoils him because of his disability. Regrettably, he's going to lose that.
Xeno: 'Looks like I have to find another way to make Emilia spoil me. I'm sure I can think of something.'
"May Rem join you?" Looking to his right, Xeno saw Rem approach with a beautiful smile on her face.
Xeno: "Make yourself at home." He said this, closing his eyes, content to feel the cool breeze.
Xeno: "Hmm?" He felt a weight nest on him.
Opening his left eye, he saw Rem leaning on his chest, resting her head on his shoulder, making herself comfortable.
Xeno: "Rem... What are you doing?" He asked, slightly taken aback.
Rem: "Rem is 'making herself at home,' Xeno-kun."
Ever since their date, Rem had been more... assertive? No, that's not it. It's more accurate to say Rem had been more physical, knowing he would enjoy it.
And she'd be right. He enjoyed that. It feels nice. He wouldn't mind if she was more assertive.
Xeno: 'If only, she's more the submissive type, A bit... Too submissive, in fact.'
Anyway, there was no point in thinking about that. It was best to just relax. Eyes closed, leaning against each other, the two did exactly that.
Gradually, sleep consumed them.
...
"Xen— plea— wake—"
Xeno's mind began to wake, feeling someone gently yet hurriedly tugging at him. Feeling annoyed, he tried to shoo them away with his hand.
Only for them to grasp his hand and squeeze it. Grumbling, Xeno reluctantly opened his eyes to see Rem on edge.
Rem: "Xeno-kun, come. There's a matter I need to share." She helped the drowsy Xeno up.
Xeno, seeing this, blinked, but just nodded, trying to keep his eyes open while Rem, holding his hand, tugged him along.
...
In Crusch's office.
Xeno, rubbing his eyes, sat in a chair while Rem stood at his side. Across from them were Crusch and Felix.
Seeing everyone had arrived, the Royal Candidate nodded her head at Rem, signalling her to start the debriefing.
Rem: "What I felt was something like a presence through the senses I share with my sister. My sister could've used her clairvoyance to give a cleaner picture, but I—"
Crusch: "So you gained an ominous sort of synesthesia from her. We don't know the details, either. Yet it comes from the Mathers domain, which you know as Margrave Roswaal's domain territory. It seems troubling movement has been seen in the vicinity of his domain. Parts of his territory are already on high alert. Though... We did foresee a situation like this coming when Margrave Roswaal declared his intentions to bring back Emilia, a half-elf."
Xeno: 'Did she have to stretch things out
this much?' He thought, barely keeping up.
Xeno: "Is this happening because of prejudice?"
When Xeno asked this question, Crusch merely nodded. Seeing this, he let out a heavy sigh.
Xeno: "Great.Talk about a giant red flag."
He rubbed the bridge of his nose.
Crusch: "A... Giant red flag?" She said, not understanding the metaphor.
Xeno: "It means a bad omen or a prelude of a hidden danger that needs to be dealt with."
Crusch: "A red flag. I think I'll remember it. So, Xenophanes, what are you willing to do with this information if you believe this to be a bad omen?"
Xeno: "You're testing me again, aren't you?"
He narrowed his eyes.
Crusch didn't respond. Instead, she gave a small smile, surprising both Rem and Felix.
When had this development occurred?
Xeno: "Alright, fine... Let's me think... Well, I doubt something bad will happen. But you know what they say, 'better to be safe than sorry.' I plan on doing exactly that."
Felix: "Nyan never heard of it." He flatly said.
Crusch: "It is a good saying regardless."
She would remember it as well.
Xeno: "Right, in that case, Crusch, can I request you do my treatment right now, so I can leave fully healed, then head out?"
Crusch: "It's no issue. Felix, finish Xeno's treatment. Don't delay it any longer." She commanded with a sharp look in his direction at the catboy.
Rem: 'Don't delay it any longer?' She repeated suspiciously, while Xeno found Crusch's look odd.
Felix: "R-Right away, Crusch-sama!"
His tail straightened up, becoming stiff.
Crusch: "Meanwhile, I'll ask Wilhelm to prepare a carriage for you to depart—"
Xeno: "No need!" He yelled in a panic, surprising the two.
Crusch: "Are you sure? It wouldn't be a problem for us to prepare one."
Rem: "That isn't the problem, Crusch-sama... It's the earth dragons they are the problem." She clarified.
Crusch: 'Earth dragons? Wilhelm did mention Xeno likely having a Divine Protection related to Earth Dragons. And his previous behaviour seems to reinforce that.'
When they came to her estate, Xeno had requested a tour so as not to get lost, to which Wilhelm was assigned the task. The tour was simple, but one thing stood out.
Xeno refused to go anywhere near the stables housing the earth dragons.
Crusch: "Does it have anything to do with earth dragons' fondness for you? Worry not. Our dragons are highly trained and disciplined. They will not cause any issues."
Xeno: "Fond is... Too weak of a word. More like obsessed with me. Once I went to Flanders, the earth dragons' capital. When I went to a stable to get my own earth dragon, do you know what happened?" Xeno's pupils vanished.
Xeno: "Every single dragon in the stable went on a full-out battle royale, all for one purpose... To be my ride... So again, better safe than sorry." He said with embarrassment.
Crusch & Felix: "..."
...
At long last, Xenophanes is back to full health. His last treatment only took around five minutes this time... For some reason.
Anyway, outside of the manor, Crusch and Felix were here to see them off. Soon, Crusch stepped forward, intending to say a few words.
Crusch: "Xenophanes, your presence here was more eventful than any of us could have anticipated, but a welcome one nonetheless. I wish you two a safe journey."
Xeno: "Thanks, Crusch, and I hope next time meet, it'll be under good circumstances."
Crusch: "I believe so too, Xenophanes. Give Emilia this message, as you're her knight. Let us compete in a manner that will bring neither of us shame."
Xeno: "I'll let her know. Goodbye, Crusch, Felix."
Rem and Xeno curtseyed, then left the premises in search of a carriage to take them to Roswaal's Mansion.
...
In the streets of the capital, the duo faced a problem Xeno didn't think was even possible.
The capital was facing a shortage of dragon carriages.
Rem and Xeno searched for nearly half an hour to no avail. It was really getting on his nerves.
Xeno: "At this rate, we'll never get to Roswaal's Mansion. Rem, you got any idea to get one?"
Rem: "Sorry, Rem is unsure how to proceed." She shook her head.
Xeno: "If only we could split up, things would be much faster." He slumped, but no. There was still a risk he could get attacked by the knights.
"Sniff, sniff, sniff, sniff. You looks very depressed and smell very weird." A cheery voice said from somewhere.
Xeno: "Huh?" He looked around to see the speaker, but couldn't find them. Seeing Rem look down, he did so too.
It was a girl with orange hair wearing white robes. Her most noticeable feature was that she was a cat demi-human.
Xeno: "What did you want, kid?"
"Mimi, no getting into mischief. I'm awfully sorry she bothering ya. Hmmm...Aren't you Xeno-kun, right? Emilia's knight and butler. Ain't that a coincidence."
Xeno: "Anastasia Hoshin!" Turning to her, he was surprised. She was the last person he expected to meet.
Rem: "Greetings, Anastasia-sama." She greeted with a respectful bow.
Anastasia: "Sorry for the inconvenience Mimi caused ya. If you don't mind, can we talk somewhere else where we can rest our legs?"
Xeno: "Sure, lead the way."
'I wonder if I can get a carriage from her.'
...
Soon, the group found themselves in a diner. Mimi, Anastasia, Rem, and Xeno sat down, enjoying a sandwich.
Rem initially refused, seeing it as inappropriate for her status, but Xeno insisted. She finally agreed when Anastasia said she didn't mind.
With this event, she did find out more about the two. Their relationship was far more intimate than that of coworkers, that's for sure.
Anastasia: "So then, Xeno-kun, don't you think we should break the silence?"
Xeno: "Allow me then. Thank you for the treat. These are good, but I doubt that's why you brought us here, so what's up?"
Anastasia: "Straight to the point, I like it. In that case, I won't beat around the bush. There are two matters I want to discuss with you."
Xeno: "Okay." He crossed his arms, now that he was finished eating.
Anastasia: "I'm sure you noticed the capital being busier as of late?"
Xeno: "Yeah, that's because of the Royal Selection, right?" He nodded, following along for now.
Anastasia: "That's right. When the top brass moves, people move, items move. The value of various things is changing right now. Iron is especially valuable. Someone is buying swords and spears."
Xeno: "That's oddly specific? What are they planning, going to war?" He tilted his head.
Anastasia: "It's also possible what they want isn't the items, per se, but to get the economy rolling."
Xeno: "You sound really confident about that. I'm guessing you have a hunch who it is."
Anastasia: "It's someone you know well, Xeno-kun. Duchess Crusch Karsten."
Both Xeno and Rem's eyes widened at the reveal.
Xeno: 'Crusch? Now that I think about it... Crusch did mention she was gathering people and objects yesterday.' He had a surprised and thoughtful look on his face.
Xeno: "So that's your plan here, getting information out of me about Crusch, huh? Sorry to disappoint, but I don't know what she's planning."
Anastasia: "That's quite alright, Xeno-kun. Let's move on, shall we?" She said, her expression not changing. She knew he was telling the truth.
Xeno: "Buuut... That doesn't mean I have no information to give... For a price, that is."
Anastasia: "Oh?" Her smile widened.
"That's more like it. Xeno-kun, what can I offer ya?" Her merchant thought of several possibilities and how to achieve it in a favorable position.
Xeno: "I'll be honest, what I want is barely going to be an inconvenience to you. So don't expect much from it. And if it's secretly very important information or not, isn't my problem. You still want to continue?"
Anastasia: 'Barely an inconvenience, but no guarantee it will be useful to me.'
"Very well. Let's hear your price first, Xeno-kun. Then we can discuss the rest."
Xeno: "What I want is simple... A Dragon Carriage."
Anastasia stared at him. For several seconds, she said nothing.
Anastasia: "A dragon carriage, that's it?"
Xeno: "Yep."
She blinked. She had expected many things, but that was not one of them. Sure, they were scarce, but that was, like Xeno said, barely an inconvenience for her.
A small laugh escaped her at the absurdity.
Anastasia: "You really are a strange one."
She said with amusement.
Xeno: "Right... I'm going to take that as a yes, then..." Anastasia nodded.
"Okay, like I said, I don't know much. All I know is that Crusch was super busy. I wasn't exactly paying attention to what she was up to. But what I did notice was the stream of visitors she had. One stood out amongst the rest, though."
Anastasia: "How so?" She looked intrigued.
Xeno: "I don't know who he was, but apparently he was important, since Sir Wilhelm immediately excused himself from our conversation just to greet him at the door. He looked like a merchant, a tall guy with dull blonde hair, blue eyes, a weird goatee, and a high-quality suit."
She quickly connected the dots.
Anastasia: "Russell Fellow. He's a pretty big fish. That information was far more valuable than you realize. Thanks, Xeno-kun."
Xeno merely shrugged, not really interested in this whole ordeal.
Xeno: "Good for you. So, how about that dragon carriage?"
Anastasia: "So impatient, Xeno-kun. But I respect the directness."
She pulled out a quill and a piece of paper and began writing something down. She explained that dragon carriages were hard to come by, as someone was buying them.
Once she finished, she folded the paper and then handed it to him.
Anastasia: "Here. The address I wrote down should have a carriage left. I've signed it with my own name, so everything should be fine."
Rem took the paper and quickly scanned it, memorizing the address.
Xeno: "Welp, pleasure doing business with you, Anastasia." He stood up, and so did Rem.
Anastasia: "The pleasure is all mine." She also stood up alongside Mimi. Saying her farewell, the two walked out the door.
And so did literally everyone inside the diner, following her. It was only then Xeno realized all of them were wearing the same white cloak as Mimi, making them Anastasia's men.
Xeno: "Damn... Talk about excessive."
Rem: "Xeno-kun... May Rem ask something?" Having been silent the entire time, she spoke now that they were alone.
Xeno: "Shoot."
Rem: "How did you learn to negotiate?"
While it no where near perfect, she could tell he had put lots of practice into this.
Xeno: "...Let's just say my trips during the weekends were more than me disguising myself." He vaguely answered.
During some weekends, Xeno would tell Rem to do a very specific disguise for him. Then he would go spend the weekend there.
And would return secretly with bags of coins.
Rem: "If Xeno-kun says so." And, like always, he never answered those concerns.
...
Now that the two had acquired the carriage, they set off without further delay. Rem drove the transport while Xeno sat in the passenger seat.
Xeno: "Hey, Rem, did you get anything more from Ram?" He called out, being bored.
Rem: "No. Our shared senses are controlled consciously, to an extent. I think what I sensed earlier exceeded what my sister could control."
Xeno: "So she didn't intend for us to know? Wonderful." He said sarcastically.
After that, he talked about a few other things to pass the time, having hours to spare.
Travelling down Lifaus Highway, the journey was uneventful. The sun was setting, and at the pace they were going, they should reach the mansion by morning.
Looking out to view the yellow sky, Xeno wondered how everyone back home was doing. It's been nearly a week since he left.
Beatrice, Ram, Emilia, Meili... Did they miss him? And what's happening there? Nothing too bad since Ram hasn't done it again... He thinks.
While Xeno contemplated this, he noticed someone waving at him.
Otto: "Hey! Let's exchange information!"
Said someone around his age, with grey hair that falls just below his chin. Bright blue eyes, clad in green belted wardrobe, as well as a dark green hood held by a red ribbon, green ushanka decorated with a white feather. Both his hat and cloak were trimmed with gold.
Xeno: "What the?"
As Rem and Xeno stopped the carriage, the two of them followed a merchant, calling himself Otto Suwen, as he led them to his colleagues.
Surrounding a campfire, Xeno and Rem sat with Otto alongside his colleagues.Taking the opportunity, Xeno explained where they were going, starting up a conversation.
Otto: "So you're heading to the Mathers territory?"
Xeno: "Yeah."
Otto: "Isn't it dangerous since it's nighttime?"
Xeno: "We were planning on camping midway through."
Otto: "We were planning on camping as well, so why don't you join us?" He politely offered.
"That's what you say, Otto. But aren't you planning on selling them some of your oil?" One of the merchants teased.
Otto: "T-That's not what I was intending!" He waved his arms around in a slight panic.
Rem: "What about oil?" She asked curiously.
Otto: "It's nothing. I just made a mistake." He turned to face Rem.
"I have a lot of oil right now, even though its price is average."
Xeno: "You're hoping to sell the oil in mass, then?"
Asking that question, the sound of an eagle echoed in his mind.
Otto: "That's the plan." He let out a weak sigh, sulking before snapping his head up and looking at Xeno with an almost desperate look.
"Say, Xeno-san, you're heading to the Mathers territory, right?"
Xeno: "Umm, yeah?" He answered, confused.
Otto: "Tell me, what have you heard about someone named 'Ainavol' living there?"
Xeno & Rem: "Ainavol?" Both of them were shocked, but for very different reasons.
"Ainavol? Don't tell me you're planning on selling your oil to him. He's way out of your league." Another merchant wearing a bandana said, amused by the thought.
Otto: "N-No, I'm just curious, that's all."
He frantically responded, which nobody bought.
Xeno: "Hey, Otto, can you tell me more about this Ainavol guy?" He stared at him with completely empty eyes, freaking Otto and the other merchants out.
Rem: 'Ainavol...Isn't that the name of Xeno-kun's disguise?' She listened in very closely.
Otto: "R-Right! Ainavol... He is... a mysterious rising star in the commercial world! He did what was originally thought impossible. He made the town of Hanumas, often thought of as an earth dragon exchange point, into a culinary-enriched town!" He spoke with reverence.
Rem: 'Xeno-kun did mention going there once as well?'
"What else has Ainavol done?" She said seriously, since it was related to her hero.
Meanwhile, Xeno was doing everything in his power not to look or act suspicious, staying quiet.
"Ainavol, in the span of a month, brought nearly all the merchants in the town together to form a big alliance. I also heard he brought a couple of opposing wealthy families together and even helped them get married."
Said the bandana Merchant.
"He's also hailed as kind, ruthless, with a strong sense of justice. I heard he single-handedly exposed the crimes of numerous criminals. Supposedly, he has a Divine Protection that allows him to see people's sins, keeping every merchant in his alliance in check using fear. Refusing to work with people who have done hideous things."
Continued an another other.
Rem: "Ainavol sounds like an incredible person. I would love to meet him." She said with a small smile, a feeling of awe and pride budding in her heart.
Otto: "He sure is. Sigh... If only I could meet him. Unfortunately, he rarely shows himself. Last being seen in Roswaal's territory." He thought dejectedly.
Xeno: "A... Shame indeed." He nodded, internally dying for embarrassing.
Xeno wasn't never a smart or thoughtful person. He was reckless, naive, and many other things.
But giving "Ainavol" a face, something he suggested as a joke, was perhaps the most RECKLESS and DUMBEST thing he has ever done.
And that's saying alot.
Calling everything he done and not getting caught in the process "a miracle" would a massive understatement.
...
Fortunately for him, though, the conversation quickly shifted away from his disguise to something else.
Rem made dinner, which everyone expressed gratitude for. Afterwards, most of them went to sleep.
The only ones awake were Otto, Rem, and the bandana merchant keeping watch.
Inside the carriage where Xeno and Rem intended to sleep, they hadn't really brought any camping gear.
However, the carriage had enough floor space, just not enough to be comfortable to sleep in.
If you weren't Xeno, that is.
With a snap of his fingers, a soft mat covered the entire floor of the carriage.
Arms wide open, he let gravity take him, sinking into the softness of his dark purple pillow, blanket, and mattress.
Xeno: 'Ah, the sheer convenience of my power is unmatched.' He thought, closing his eyes to sleep.
But...
He couldn't sleep. Not for now, at least.
One quirk of his was that he couldn't sleep in new environments or on the floor without taking hours long into the night.
Xeno: 'Stupid brain.'
The door of the carriage opened, and in came Rem. She promptly laid down next to him, wrapping herself around his left arm, sharing his pillow and blanket.
Xeno: "Rem?"
Rem: "You couldn't sleep either, Xeno-kun?" She innocently questioned, as if her actions were completely normal.
Xeno: "...Why are you doing this?"
Rem smiled, giving a simple response.
Rem: "Because I want to."
Xeno: "..."
"Try not to snuggle with me too hard."
Rem: "No promises." She closed her eyes.
Xeno: "...Right. So, are Otto and the other guy still keeping watch?"
Rem: "Otto-san is trying his best... Rem doesn't know about the other one Xeno-kun mentioned."
Xeno: "Really? Did bandana guy go off somewhere?" He said curiously.
Rem: "...Who are you speaking of, Xeno-kun?" She said, perplexed.
Xeno: "You know... The merchant wearing a bandana who kept teasing Otto?" Now it was his turn to be confused.
Rem: "Rem has no recollection of any of the six merchants wearing a bandana."
Xeno: "Rem... There were eight of them."
The moment he said that, Rem's eyes widened before sharpening. She got up and rushed out of the carriage. Xeno followed suit.
She clearly remembered there being only six. Yet her hero counted eight? Something was definitely wrong.
And she was right. Mist lightly covered the area. It wasn't like this before.
Rem: "Otto-san!" She rushed towards a confused and frightened Otto.
Otto: "Rem-san, W-What is happening?"
He, too, realized something was wrong.
Xeno: "Otto, you alright?" Catching up, he looked at the increasing fog.
Otto: "F-Fog... No, no, no! Fog! It c-can't be!!!" He panicked.
Xeno: "What's wrong? Do you know what's happening?"
Otto: "Xeno-san, Rem-san, wake everyone! We need to run now!" He didn't wait to explain, bolting away towards the carriage.
Xeno: "Seriously."
He turned to Rem, who looked terrified, seeing something behind him.
"What's going on...!!!!"
He snapped behind to gaze at what Rem was looking at.
Only for it...
To stare right back.
...
A giant eyeball, bigger than Xeno's entire body, stared at him with a predatory gaze through the fog.
Pure fear enveloped Xeno. His instincts took over. He screamed, falling over and flailing his arms. Dark purple bones struck the eye.
The creature let out a roar of pain.
Rem caught her hero before he could fall. She was in a panic. This was the worst possible encounter. They needed to run NOW.
Xeno yelped as Rem carried him in her arms, running towards the others as fast as she could.
Relying on her sense of smell rather than sight, she quickly reached them just in time to see Otto and the others hurriedly tugging on their dragon carriage to move.
With a powerful leap, she boarded the carriage Otto was on moments before it started moving.
Which didn't take long for to reach top speed.
Xeno: "Would someone please tell me what the heck is going on!!!" Coming to Otto's side, he yelled in pure panic.
Otto: "Don't you understand, Xeno-san!? There is only one thing this large that swims around in the misty sky! It's the White Whale!"
Xeno: "The White Whale!!? ...Rem, are the others okay?"
Rem: "They are all behind us, following along, Xeno-kun."
A monstrous roar filled with fury pierced everyone's ears. Looking behind, the White Whale was hot on their trail.
Xeno: "Damn, it really didn't like me shooting it in the eye!"
Otto: "You did WHAT!!!"
Xeno: "I panicked, okay!!!"
Just as he said this, he noticed the gaping mouth of the White Whale open wide as the beast suddenly began to inhale.
It felt as if both he and the carriage were being sucked in by a hurricane.
Hearing the screams of both Xeno and Otto, she knew she had to do something, or else they would get swallowed.
With her horn protruding out from her forehead, she suddenly jumped high into the air, preparing to stop the beast.
Rem: "AL HUMA!"
Rem summoned massive, dense pillars of ice, comparable to a central pillar of a mansion in size. They fired at high speeds.
The result was the beast getting hit with tremendous force, just as she landed back on the carriage to Otto's left.
Xeno: "Turn left now!!!"
Otto: "Yes!!!"
With everyone doing their best to survive the White Whale, the carriage jerked around violently, Xeno barely clinging on. He didn't want to imagine what would have happened if he fell off.
Otto: "It's catching up to us!" He shouted, full of terror.
Their situation was getting worse and worse. It wouldn't let them escape with how furious it was. If nothing changed, it would kill everyone here.
Xeno's hands tightened until they turned white. He needed to do something. And he needed to do it now.
He once again looked at the furious White Whale, and an idea popped into his head.
A very frightening, reckless idea.
Xeno: "Rem, keep everyone safe."
Rem: "Xeno-kun, what are you...!?" She said in surprise, seeing the look in his eyes.
A look she was very familiar with.
Which only filled her with fear, desperately hoping he wasn't going to do what she thought.
Xeno: "I'm going to jump off the carriage and distract that thing. I want you to keep everyone here safe."
Rem: "No!!!" Her response was instant.
Xeno: "Now isn't the time, Rem!!! That thing is pissed off because of me. I'm the perfect target for it."
Rem: "No means no, Xeno-kun! Rem won't let you use yourself as bait!" She rejected that plan. She absolutely refused to let him.
"Let me do it. I'll intercept it. Use that time to successfully escape." She fiercely told an alternative.
Xeno: "Are you insane!? You'll die if you do that!!!"
Rem: "So will you, Xeno-kun. And Rem will never let that happen!"
Xeno: "You think I want to fight that thing!? Hell no, but there's no other choice! It's do or die, Rem! And I'm powerful enough to keep it distracted AND escape it."
Rem flinched. Her heart felt like it was struck by needles. She knows he's right.
She's too weak to hold the White Whale off. She will likely die.
Unlike her, her hero is powerful, stronger than her in every way. He can do things she can only dream of.
And once again, because of that strength, her hero has to jump in to save everyone like he did before.
All because she's too weak.
But...
She still refuses to let him carry it out. She knows she isn't the smartest or the strongest, but...
If her death stalls that monster for even a few seconds to let everyone live...
She'll do it, even if it went against his wishes.
Rem turned around, attempting to hop off the carriage, only to be stopped by Xeno.
Rem: "Xeno-kun... Please let Rem go!"
She pleaded.
Xeno: "Like hell I will."
Using Envy, he chained her legs to the carriage before turning to leave himself.
And just like him, Rem too stopped him, hugging him tightly from behind.
Rem: "Wait, Xeno-kun! I won't let you go. I won't let go. I-If you die, I-I..." She couldn't form the words.
Xeno: "I'm sorry, Rem." He muttered softly.
She was knocked away from him, falling onto the ground.
She looked in shock as two bone wings emerged from Xeno's back, folding themselves just to fit in.
Xeno: "Otto, do me a favour and make sure she reaches Roswaal's Mansion safely. I've already placed all the money I have below the seat "
And before any more could be said, Xeno sprang straight off the carriage.
Rem: "Noooo!!!"
She watched in horror, chained as he leapt off. With a flap of his wings, he stabilized himself in the air.
He gazed at her one last time. His expression solemn with evidence fear.
Before flying off.
