Chapter 1 - The times seem to have changed, but Dumbledore changed them back.

"When I call your name, put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted. Hannah Abbott!" shouted the Witch in deep green robes, wearing square glasses and with her black hair pulled into a high bun, her voice rising above the noisy chatter. The girl whose name was called walked to the center of the hall with a nervous heart, and an extremely dirty, patched-up, old pointed Wizard's hat was placed on her head."Hufflepuff!" the hat shouted... "Rune Derek!""Slytherin!"...The early morning sunlight filtered through the thin curtains, spilling into the room and bringing a hint of warmth and brightness. The air was filled with a fresh scent; it was a rare day of good weather, but what made Rune even happier was his status bar.Hogwarts' Perpetual Blessing: Through a magical ritual, four great Wizards converted the uncontrolled magic of young Wizards into standardized protection. Dumbledore later modified the ritual so that physical damage would also find it difficult to harm young Wizards. The recipient will gain extremely high physical and magic resistance. As a transmigrator, especially one who had crossed into the DC World, Rune had neither Kryptonian blood, nor relatives like Constantine, nor was he a Professor at Gotham University. Aside from a system that came with the Yellow Millet Dream talent, he had nothing. However, after one night, Rune couldn't wait to kiss this system.Yellow Millet Dream allowed him to travel across worlds and gain various magical skills just by taking a nap; this was his foundation for survival in the DC World! However, he didn't have much time for sentimentality because there was plenty to do at the Gotham Monastery. If he didn't start working early in the morning, it would be hard to make it to breakfast. But with something to look forward to, Rune was quite energetic even in his work, earning him praise from Sister Angelia.By evening, Rune washed his face and looked at the youthful face in the mirror, unable to help but smile. During this day, he had planned his learning priorities. In the current timeline, the Wayne couple were not yet dead. Just last night, they were attending a charity event. The reason he knew this so clearly was entirely because the monastery was one of the beneficiaries. To thank the couple for their contribution, he and other pretty children had gone to present flowers. The good news was that supervillains like General Zod, the Yellow Lantern, and Darkseid had not yet begun to set their sights on Earth, giving Rune plenty of time to grow stronger. But the bad news was that he only knew the current Batman was male and couldn't determine which DC Universe this was. Even more exaggeratedly, he couldn't even be sure if this world belonged to the Dark Multiverse. Therefore, his learning priorities were undoubtedly Charms and Transfiguration Class, as they were his direct path to becoming stronger. Next were Potions and Alchemy. For the former, he only needed to learn some concepts, as he wasn't sure if those herbs could be found in the DC World. Alchemy was a subject that required in-depth study, but unfortunately, this course could only be taken as an elective in the sixth and seventh years and required a certain understanding of Ancient Runes, so Rune placed it last.Defense Against the Dark Arts went without saying; except for a few years, this course basically relied on self-study. As for History of Magic, Astronomy, and the like, they were even more useless and hardly worth the effort. With a clear purpose, Rune closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he found that it was only six in the morning. He quickly got out of bed and checked the schedule. First-year Slytherins had two classes that day: Herbology in the morning and History of Magic in the afternoon. He had no intention of looking at the textbooks for those subjects and directly took out "A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration" to start previewing. This book introduced the classification and some principles of Transfiguration in detail, and after reading it a few times, Rune felt he had mastered it.So he took out his wand, pulled out a strand of his hair, and began trying to cast a spell on it, but unfortunately, he failed. He couldn't even change the color of the hair, which made Rune extremely frustrated. Perhaps his talent was insufficient? He made up his mind to go and ask Professor McGonagall, but before that, he needed to experiment a few more times on his own."Aha, looks like this is our dormitory's little bookworm." A youthful voice came. Rune turned to look; the boy's face wore a sneer. His name was Edward. He had humbly mingled with those Pure-blood Wizards at the sorting feast, but now, his face was full of pride."Then could you please tell me why I can't change the color and properties of this hair?" Rune asked. He didn't care about the other's attitude; after all, the other person was just a child in his early teens."Because that belongs to Human Transfiguration, you fool." Edward's tone was filled with contempt, his nose almost pointing at Rune.Human Transfiguration? Rune frowned. He picked up the hair; did an object pulled from a person count as part of the human body? He switched to a quill and tried to turn it into a needle. At this moment, Edward, who was watching from the side, couldn't take it anymore and took a box of matches from his clothes."Consider these borrowed." He looked at Rune with disdain."Thanks," Rune said, and then, under Edward's surprised gaze, he easily turned the match into a needle. The casting process was wonderful, feeling as if something had flown out of his head."Have you practiced Transfiguration?" Edward asked.Rune shook his head. So Edward said with certainty, "Then you must be a Pure-blood."But when Rune asked why simply changing a strand of hair counted as Human Transfiguration, Edward's face suddenly turned red, and he stammered some unintelligible words. Finally, as if he had thought of something, he said hurriedly, "You'd better hurry up and preview Potions. Although he is our Dean, my dad says he is the strictest Professor at Hogwarts."Potions was on Friday morning... However, Rune, who understood children, only hummed a few responses, not wanting to hurt the boy's dull self-esteem.Herbology Class wasn't difficult; they just learned about the effects of Dittany and such. However, since he hadn't previewed, Rune wasn't able to earn points for his house. After class, he went straight to the library. To him, learning magic itself was a form of entertainment, especially since there wasn't much other entertainment at Hogwarts at this time. The library was much larger than Rune had expected. He made a rough estimate that there were probably thousands of bookshelves in the entire library, with tens of thousands of books among them. Hogwarts' deep heritage was highlighted once again, and some of those books would become the nutrients for Rune's growth.By the third or fourth year, I must sneak into the Restricted Section to see those forbidden magics, Rune secretly resolved.
