Chapter 41 - Teaching Kakashi and Sakumo the Lightning Body Tempering Technique — The Stronger the Backer, the Better

"Why not?"

Akira shrugged casually. "Teacher didn't hesitate to pass down his family swordsmanship and ninjutsu to me. Why should I hold anything back?"

"But… your control over lightning nature is still below mine for now, so you can only learn the simplified version of the Lightning Body Tempering Technique. You need to understand that."

Kakashi didn't have the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, and his chakra control wasn't at Akira's level.

The full version's requirements were simply too high.

Maybe in the future, once Kakashi developed something like Raikiri and improved his lightning control, he could try the complete version.

Kakashi nodded calmly. "Yeah, I'm aware of my limits."

"Good."

Akira liked that attitude. He stood up and said, "Then let's begin. Even the simplified version will be painful. You'd better be prepared—the feeling of being electrocuted isn't pleasant."

"But in return, the gains are huge. It rapidly strengthens your physique. The pain also tempers your will and even passively improves your mental strength."

"Chakra is the combination of mental energy and physical energy. Improve both, and your chakra will grow rapidly."

"And during the process, your chakra control will be tested constantly."

"In short—master this technique, and your strength will increase dramatically."

The Lightning Body Tempering Technique had already gone through multiple upgrades.

Recently, Akira had even integrated the Iron Shirt technique he obtained from the eighth exchange, making it even more powerful.

"Thanks."

Kakashi nodded, genuinely moved.

"Heh, what are you two talking about?"

At that moment, Sakumo Hatake walked in from outside carrying groceries, smiling as he asked.

"Father! Akira is going to teach me his self-created Lightning Body Tempering Technique."

Kakashi replied directly.

"Oh?"

Sakumo raised an eyebrow and looked at Akira. "Kakashi doesn't meet the requirements yet, does he? That technique demands very high lightning chakra control."

"That's right."

Akira nodded. "But I've developed a simplified version with much lower requirements. Kakashi can manage it for now."

"However, Teacher—I intend to teach you the full version. I hope you won't refuse."

This was something Akira had already decided.

The stronger Sakumo became, the better.

"…This…"

Sakumo hesitated. "Have you thought this through? The value of your technique surpasses even S-rank ninjutsu—possibly even Cloud Village's Lightning Body technique. Its potential is immense."

The enhancement it provided to the body was simply too comprehensive.

Most ninja weren't particularly strong physically—except for specialists like Might Dai, Might Guy, or the Raikage lineage.

Even Sakumo couldn't deny he was tempted.

If he mastered it, his endurance, reaction speed, and lightning-based sword techniques would all improve significantly.

"Of course."

Akira nodded firmly. "Teacher, you didn't hesitate to pass down your own techniques to me. This is nothing."

"Besides—you're my backer. The stronger my backer is, the better. Heh!"

"Haha, you brat…"

Sakumo chuckled. "Alright, then I'll accept it."

Though touched, he didn't say much.

In his heart, he had already decided—Akira's matters were his matters.

"Then let's begin. The village—and the ninja world—aren't exactly peaceful right now. The stronger you and Kakashi become, the better."

With that, Akira began teaching both of them the Lightning Body Tempering Technique.

Sakumo, as a seasoned Kage-level ninja with strong lightning affinity and swordsmanship, grasped the basics in just over ten minutes.

Of course, true mastery would come gradually through practice and adaptation.

Kakashi, on the other hand—even with the simplified version—struggled.

By dinner time, he still hadn't succeeded.

"This technique is way too difficult… Even the simplified version—is this really something humans can master?"

Kakashi felt a bit defeated.

Especially knowing Akira had created it himself.

The gap between them felt overwhelming.

This guy… isn't human.

"I feel like you're indirectly insulting both me and Teacher."

Akira looked at him speechlessly. "What do you mean 'not human'? We both mastered it—so what does that make us?"

Kakashi: "..."

Akira laughed and patted his shoulder. "Don't get discouraged. You're still young—your chakra control isn't fully developed yet. Keep practicing, and you'll get it soon."

"Teacher already said it—the difficulty is at least S-rank. Even the simplified version is still A or B-rank level. Take it step by step."

There was no shortcut to becoming strong overnight.

Not even the Akimichi clan could pull that off.

Over the next three days, Kakashi became completely obsessed with mastering the simplified Lightning Body Tempering Technique.

He even practiced at the academy.

Several times, when Obito Uchiha tried to approach him, he got electrocuted instead—his hair standing on end.

Obito was so furious he nearly tried to fight him.

"Akira, what's wrong with Kakashi?"

Rin Nohara asked with concern, glancing at Kakashi.

Kurenai Yuhi also looked over.

They knew Akira trained with Kakashi regularly—he should know what was going on.

"It's nothing. Don't worry—he's just trying to learn a new technique."

Akira's shadow clone waved it off with a smile.

"I see…"

Rin and Kurenai both nodded.

"Oh right, Akira—how's your medical ninjutsu training going?"

Rin asked curiously.
