This was the cheat God gave Souya. Aside from being able to walk the paths himself to engrave Heroic Spirits, he could also borrow power from other Heroic Spirits on the Throne of Heroes.
Although it was far inferior to Manaka Sajyou, who could freely enter and exit the Root, in the Nasuverse, the setting of Heroic Spirits was inherently a product aligned with the soul materialization of the Third Magic.
Souya, who could access the Throne of Heroes, possessed a sliver of a chance of becoming the user of the Third Magic.
Combined with Souya's absurdly large innate mana pool, this pushed him closer toward the direction of the Third Magic.
Of course, the above was mostly just Souya's wishful thinking. On the path of the Third Magic, there was someone far ahead of him.
Namely, the Saintess of Winter, Justeaze Lizrich von Einzbern. She was the one who completed the Third Magic.
Besides its high cost, this magecraft had many restrictions.
The borrowed Heroic Spirit power was incomplete; often, even the Noble Phantasms could not be fully brought down. It also required the Servant's acknowledgment. Because this technique was more like an illegal immigrant's invitation to Heroic Spirits other than Saints and believers, it was highly likely to be difficult to gain their acknowledgment.
Strictly speaking, this magecraft was a tool God gave Souya to summon his own people, afraid Souya would recklessly get himself killed.
Even among "his own people," this required affinity.
For the current Souya, the Heroic Spirits he could summon numbered only three. One was the Iron-Fisted Saintess Martha, who carried the skill "Jacob's Limbs" and an Anti-Dragon Special Attack. Another was the human incarnation of the Archangel Michael, an unquestionable Saint: St. George, Georgios.
Compared to Martha, Georgios was incredibly stingy toward Souya. Besides a fixed portion of base parameters, there were no skills and no special attacks. He did, however, bring down one Noble Phantasm.
Namely, the Anti-Army Noble Phantasm: "Abyssus Draconis."
The appearance of the Noble Phantasm was the surcoat bearing a red cross draped over Georgios's shoulders.
Its function was simple: whoever he pointed at became a Dragon Kind.
It did not give the target the power of a dragon, but rather branded them with the label of a dragon, making it easier to trigger special attacks.
For Souya, who possessed neither an "Anti-Dragon Special Attack" nor Georgios's Noble Phantasm "Interfectum Dracones," how was he supposed to use this Noble Phantasm?
It was essentially useless.
As for the power of the third Heroic Spirit, Souya could only say:
It was hard to believe he could borrow from this guy, and one that specialized in that aspect, no less.
For certain reasons, Souya temporarily could not casually use the power of this Heroic Spirit.
Given his strength and status, just using Martha drained him this much. If he switched to him, he would probably be squeezed dry into a mummy.
God's cheat lived up to the name "Holy Spirit Projection." In a true sense, it could only project Saint-class Heroic Spirits down.
Suddenly, Souya thought of a question.
Since "Holy Spirit Projection" could communicate with other non-Christian Heroic Spirits, then what about himself, Lamorak?
According to the system's description, because Lamorak was himself, even though he was genuinely engraved on the Throne of Heroes, the lack of his own soul meant others could not summon him.
Then what about Souya himself?
Through "Holy Spirit Projection," could he fully summon Lamorak down, granting himself power truly rivaling top-tier Servants?
Due to time constraints, combined with the fact that he always thought the power belonging to Lamorak was hidden within the nine paths, Souya had not realized that Heroic Spirits had to rely on the Throne of Heroes.
The scenes he saw in the paths were likely just projections or slices from the Throne of Heroes.
If the theory holds, why could the practice not begin?
Souya's breathing became rapid. Having been troubled by this question for so long, he only now realized that the answer had been hidden in his hands all along.
The trash system called itself a guide, yet everything still depended on himself.
Souya was bursting with the excitement of wanting to use "Holy Spirit Projection" to summon himself, Lamorak.
Unfortunately, both his skills and body were currently on cooldown. No matter how anxious he was, he could not do it.
Seemingly noticing Souya's absentmindedness, Amakusa spoke.
"Souya? Are you listening to me?"
"Ah, yes, I am listening."
Snapping out of his daze, Souya looked at Amakusa with an awkward expression.
Amakusa smiled helplessly and continued.
"So, based on your conversation with the Black Saber, assuming he was not deliberately misleading us, is his True Name confirmed to be the Dragon-Slaying Hero of the Nibelungenlied, Siegfried?"
"Yes. Based on my observations of him, I believe he was not lying."
Souya nodded.
"It is indeed him. It seems my prediction was not wrong."
Amakusa appeared calm regarding the fact that the enemy Saber was Siegfried.
Long before, when he learned that their side's Berserker was Kriemhild, he had faintly guessed that the opponent's Saber or Rider would likely be the great hero whose life was entangled with this Princess of Vengeance: Siegfried.
"If it is Siegfried, then we need not worry too much anymore."
As if feeling victory was within his grasp, the corners of Amakusa's mouth curved up slightly.
"Originally, I planned to let Achilles deal with him. But since we have Kriemhild on our side, we can safely leave Siegfried to her."
"As Her Highness the Princess, descending in the Berserker class, I believe she will definitely resolve Siegfried for us."
Amakusa turned his gaze back to Souya.
"Oh, right. There is one more thing, Souya."
"Hm?"
Souya, still pondering the projection matter, looked up.
"Speaking of which, our side's Saber and her Master will likely arrive to report in around noon today. If you are interested, do you want to meet her with me?"
"The Saber of Red, Mordred?"
Instinctively, Souya looked up and cast his gaze at Morgan.
Morgan met his gaze with a calm yet inexplicable look in her eyes.
That look seemed to say: Do not look at me, she is your kid.
