Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Set Out on Your Journey, Sanzang

Sanzang used reason and emotion, finally forcing Daniel to temporarily give up the idea of having her bear his child.

Well, only temporarily.

"I remember the Holy Grail has the function of granting Servants a physical body... Sanzang, how about we go snatch a Holy Grail, and after giving you a body, you have a child for me?" Daniel hadn't been quiet for two minutes before he got excited again.

"Why are you always thinking about me having a child for you!" Sanzang was both ashamed and annoyed, waving her khakkhara wildly, barely resisting the urge to smash it onto the young man's head.

"And where would a Holy Grail even come from in this world that's been dead for so long!"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. I don't know if it's because of my transmigration, but just now, I gained an ability called 'Wanderer.' It should be an ability that allows me to take others with me to other worlds."

"Divine power? You've gained divine power?" Sanzang asked Daniel in surprise.

"Rather than answering 'yes,' I might as well let you experience it directly." Daniel reached out his hand to Sanzang. "Coming?"

"Don't move around." Sanzang placed her hand on Daniel's palm with a half-threat.

In the next moment, their environment changed abruptly.

An endless desert replaced the hard stone ground.

A deep blue sky replaced the previous starry night.

Well, except there was a large white ring of light in the sky, which looked quite annoying.

"It really is divine power?" Sanzang looked in astonishment at Daniel, who finally dared to stand up from the ground. "Little Daniel, you wouldn't happen to be the type of person naturally suited to being a monk, would you?"

"I've figured it out. It's not divine power, just a similar-looking ability." Daniel's face turned pale when he heard Sanzang trying to persuade him to be a monk, and he quickly explained, "Also, I'm still waiting for you to have a child for me. Don't you go thinking of ways to make me a monk and end my bloodline."

"It's decided! I absolutely cannot let you get your hands on an evil thing like the Holy Grail!" Sanzang glared at Daniel with a red face. "Unless you give up that evil idea of making this poor monk have a child for you!"

To this, Daniel could only roll his eyes.

"But where is this place?" Seeing she had the upper hand, Sanzang looked around smugly, but her expression immediately fell. "I really don't have a good impression of deserts."

"Look at that ring up there," Daniel reminded her, pointing his finger toward the sky.

"Uwah! What is that thing!" Sanzang put her hand to her monk's hat and looked up at the massive ring of light.

"With that thing there, it means this world is a Singularity," Daniel replied with a shrug. "This world is currently undergoing a massive event called the 'Incineration of Humanity.'"

"Is it that mobile game you mentioned earlier where I appear?" Sanzang's expression instantly froze. "Then there wouldn't be two of me here, would there?"

"Don't be ridiculous. Two versions of the same person of the same class can't appear in the same place," Daniel replied with a pout. "The most likely possibility is that you replaced her existence and pushed her out."

"Besides, the place we appeared in is a desert... I'm afraid we've wandered straight into the Sixth Singularity."

"Oho! The Sixth Singularity, sounds like a very dangerous place," Sanzang exclaimed.

"Yeah, there are several top-tier Servants in this setting, even some that are off the charts," Daniel replied, spreading his hands. "Overall, no matter the outcome, this Singularity is doomed; no one can save it."

Unless the Lion King doesn't perform the Holy Selection.

"How about we leave?" Daniel suggested, looking at Sanzang.

When he watched it through a screen, he thought it was quite touching, but if you asked him to actually experience it, he would absolutely refuse.

"No! Since we've appeared here, we must have a mission," Sanzang refused firmly. "Perhaps this is also the Buddha's guidance."

No, that gentleman is probably still slacking off right now.

"In any case, let's find a place to settle down first," Sanzang suggested, staring at Daniel. "After all, while Servants don't need to eat, as a human, you can't go without food, right?"

"Well said, but I've never walked through a desert," Daniel replied expressionlessly. "Forget about choosing a faction to join; I can't even tell which way is which."

"Uh... then you'd better follow me." Sanzang froze for a moment upon hearing this, then awkwardly scratched her cheek with a finger. "Although my sense of direction isn't great either, at least I've walked through a desert before; I'm more familiar with the path than you."

Daniel silently tore the sleeves off his pajamas and wrapped them around the soles of his feet.

After all, they had to trek through the desert. It wasn't too hot yet, so he could manage, but once the desert sand got scorched, his soles would be ruined.

"Hey, Little Daniel, which faction do you think we should join?" Sanzang planned to get some plot spoilers from Daniel, since she didn't have Clairvoyance and couldn't see the future.

"There's the Holy City led by the Divine Spirit Lion King, who plans to take only specimens with holy souls to escape the Incineration of Humanity; there's the faction of Ramesses II, who has given up and plans to hold out until the last moment, currently sitting on his throne in his tomb; there's the local faction led by Hassan, who is working hard to find a way to survive; and then there's the Chaldea faction, whose goal is to save humanity, though I don't know if they've arrived yet."

"Then should we join Chaldea?" Sanzang asked.

"Let's go take a look first," Daniel glanced at Sanzang and reminded her. "No matter how much I say, it's just game settings. This is a real world, and the core intentions of these four factions might change with various events. So, it's better to see these factions with our own eyes before making a decision."

[Log

Having arrived in a new world and faced with a choice, you made the decision that'seeing is believing' and obtained the ability: Card Drawer.

Until the card face is revealed, you cannot see its front contents.]

Daniel's expression turned somewhat gloomy.

This ability is truly useless!

They really made 'turning a blind eye' sound so high and mighty!

Just as Daniel was secretly grumbling about this cheat not giving him any face, four cards with familiar Class overview diagrams on their backs suddenly appeared before his eyes. They then began to shift positions and rotate at a speed faster than his naked eye could track.

"What is this?" Even Sanzang could see them.

[Log

The time of choice has arrived. Please pick one of four and select the power of the knight that belongs solely to you!]

Four high-speed rotating cards with absolutely no differences—this left one with no other way to distinguish them besides just blindly drawing one!

So, Daniel gritted his teeth and made his move.

After all, hesitation only leads to defeat!
