Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 - Confession

—So, how should I handle this situation now?

As Kamiyā Yuu flipped through the various documents in his hands, he hesitated over what kind of attitude he should take toward this matter. Or rather, what exactly had made Kamiyā Sora choose this moment to confess everything? The cause wasn't hard to guess—his recent changes had intensified the unease in her heart. Her abnormal behavior over the past two days had finally ignited the anxiety she had suppressed for so long, forcing her into this decision.

In the heavy silence of the living room, Kamiyā Yuu carefully put the documents away one by one. Even in such a delicate situation, his thoughts remained clear. Or rather, having anticipated something like this, he had been waiting for Kamiyā Sora's choice. She had initiated this conversation, and she controlled its pace. No matter the outcome, all he could do was listen.

"Sora, no matter what, you are still my only family. Even without a blood relationship, that won't change," Kamiyā Yuu said seriously after taking a deep breath. He tried to reach out and pat her head to comfort her, but she grabbed his sleeve instead.

Kamiyā Sora shook her head and looked up at him, her gaze filled with determination. "Yuu, I didn't confess this to seek your forgiveness or comfort. I just want an answer."

"An answer?"

Kamiyā Sora placed the white rabbit plush on the table, then took his right hand and gently pressed it against her cheek. "Ever since you came back from the hospital, it's like you've become a different person. And after knowing we're not truly siblings… I've been very uneasy. I was afraid that once you knew everything, you would choose to leave me."

"But it's not like that. Your changes during this time… they made me happy. For the first time, I felt like I understood what you were thinking." Her face flushed faintly as she held his hand. "Do you remember this feeling? This was your first choice."

She smiled gently, yet with a trace of sadness. Letting go of his hand, she climbed onto the low table and looked down at him, then leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing him down onto the floor.

A faint scent—warm and familiar—filled the air, making Kamiyā Yuu instinctively hold her slender waist.

"Yuu… I love you," Kamiyā Sora whispered in his ear, her voice trembling. "This selfish feeling… stronger than anything. I want to understand everything about you. I want your whole world to belong only to me."

"So I want to know the answer."

"In your heart… what am I?"

"When you first held me like that, when you noticed my presence… what were you feeling?"

"And that kiss the night before—why?"

"You were the one who made me feel this way. I can't go back anymore. I can't just be your little sister again."

"So please, Yuu… tell me what you're thinking. In your heart, am I just as important? Do you truly… like me?"

"Not as a sister. Not as family. But as someone you care about completely."

"Yuu… tell me the answer."

"Please… I don't want to keep waiting. I don't want to stay lost anymore." By the end, her voice had turned into a desperate plea, like someone clinging to the last glimmer of hope.

From the moment she first sensed the change in Kamiyā Yuu, something in her had also begun to change. It was like a dam that had held back a flood for years—when he first kissed her hand, a crack appeared. When she kissed him in return, the dam finally broke.

Having experienced that kind of closeness, Kamiyā Sora could no longer return to the past. She could no longer treat him the same way. Since the collapse was inevitable, she chose to let everything break completely—either destroying everything, or bringing about something entirely new.

Kamiyā Yuu couldn't see her face at that moment, but he could hear the tremble in her voice. It was probably the most intense emotional outpouring she had ever had in her life, revealing everything she had kept hidden deep inside.

This was her answer.

—That's not fair.

Kamiyā Yuu gave a helpless smile. The trembling of the girl in his arms alone was enough to convey her feelings. Lowering his head, he whispered gently near her ear, "Sora… I'm sorry."

His gentle reply made her body stiffen instantly. She slowly pushed herself up and looked down at him, her expression turning cold, filled with despair. Grabbing his collar tightly, she asked in a broken voice, "Why? Why! Is it because it's me? Because I'm your sister?"

"Then what was that kiss? What was all of this?" Tears streamed down her face, soaking into his shirt.

"Yuu… I'm sorry." Her final apology was barely audible.

Kamiyā Yuu was taken aback. He reached out and wiped away her tears, smiling faintly. "What do you mean by 'why' or 'sorry'? I meant… I'm sorry for making you wait so long for my answer."

As her expression shifted from despair to surprise, he sat up, held her waist, and gently brushed away the tears on her cheek. Then he leaned in and kissed her trembling lips.

It was more decisive than before, more certain.

For a moment, everything else seemed to fade away. The confusion and hesitation that once weighed on her no longer mattered.

She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, responding to him with her own feelings.

When they finally parted, Kamiyā Sora's face was flushed, her eyes slightly unfocused as she looked at him. The smile on her lips was pure, dreamlike, and filled with relief and joy—as if she had just obtained everything she had ever wished for.

Kamiyā Yuu brushed aside her silver hair and gently touched her cheek. "I love you, Sora."[T/N:🤢🤮🤧]

In that still moment, they could hear each other's racing heartbeats, see the warmth rising on each other's faces, and feel the sincerity in each other's eyes—without reservation.
