Chapter 35 - Chapter 34: The Maid is Kidnapped

Chapter 34: The Maid is Kidnapped

Gojo Satoru had his hands in his pockets, his tone returning to his usual laziness, yet carrying an unquestionable, realistic consideration: "Hey, hey, this is obviously a trap."

"The other party's goal is you, Miss Star Plasma Vessel. If you run off to Okinawa now, wouldn't that be walking straight into a trap? There are only three days left until the assimilation."

He looked at Toho Hiroshi and Geto Suguru; the meaning was clear—mission first. Protecting the Star Plasma Vessel was the top priority, and they shouldn't create unnecessary complications.

"But Kuroi, she..."

Amanai Riko looked up abruptly, tears streaming down her face, "Kuroi is just like family to me! How can I just watch her die because of me?!"

Gojo Satoru remained unmoved, analyzing with a touch of coldness: "The target is you. If you go, not only will you fail to save her, but it is very likely that both of you will die."

"If you don't go, they might keep Miss Kuroi as bait or a bargaining chip, making it safer instead. The optimal solution is to notify The Higher-Ups and have them send people to rescue her, while we continue to escort you to the altar according to the original plan."

His logic was cold and correct; it was the best strategy in line with mission priority.

"Gojo..."

Geto Suguru seemed to want to say something, but ultimately did not refute him. Rationally speaking, Gojo Satoru's judgment was not wrong.

Amanai Riko's eyes dimmed instantly, filled with despair and helplessness.

She knew that what Gojo Satoru said was right, but emotionally, she could not accept it.

She lowered her head, her shoulders trembling slightly, and her suppressed sobbing sounded exceptionally clear in the silent room.

"Kuroi has been by my side since I was little... taking care of me and protecting me."

She choked out, her voice intermittent, "Even though she knew I was a Star Plasma Vessel, knew we would eventually part ways... she was still so good to me. She has never left my side..."

"She is not part of my mission..."

Amanai Riko's voice was very soft, yet carried a heavy weight, "She is my important family!"

The room was silent, save for the girl's suppressed sobbing.

Gojo Satoru pushed up his sunglasses and said nothing, but the playfulness on his face had slightly subsided.

Geto Suguru sighed softly.

Just then, Toho Hiroshi, who had been silent all this time, spoke up. His voice was calm and waveless, yet it instantly captured everyone's attention.

"Then let's go."

Gojo Satoru raised an eyebrow and looked at him: "Toho? Are you sure?"

Toho Hiroshi interrupted him, his gaze falling on Amanai Riko. In those deep, blood-red eyes, there was no wavering: "She said, that is her family."

He paused, then continued: "So what if it's a trap? We'll just crush it. So what if the opponent is strong? We'll just kill them. Our mission is simply to deliver her safely to the altar in three days."

"Before that, removing all obstacles that prevent her from going with peace of mind is also the duty of an escort."

He looked at Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru, his tone indifferent yet carrying absolute confidence: "Or are you afraid of those rats that only know how to hide in the dark?"

Gojo Satoru was stunned for a moment, then his mouth widened into a grin, revealing an excited and wild smile: "Ha! Afraid? Are you kidding me! Let's go, who's afraid of whom!"

Geto Suguru also smiled helplessly, though his eyes became sharp: "Since you've both decided... fine. Okinawa, is it? It's been a long time since I've been there. Let's treat it as a relaxing trip."

Despair faded from Amanai Riko's face. She looked up in disbelief, watching the three incredibly powerful boys before her who had suddenly changed their minds, her eyes blurred with tears.

Toho Hiroshi reached out his hand to her: "Let's go. Let's go bring your family back."

Amanai Riko wiped away her tears forcefully, placed her hand in Toho Hiroshi's, and was pulled up by him.

She nodded heavily, light reigniting in her eyes: "Mm."

...

The sea breeze in Okinawa carried a salty, humid scent, and the sunlight poured without reservation onto the white sand and the azure sea.

However, Amanai Riko had no heart to appreciate this beautiful scenery at the moment; her heart was filled with worry for Kuroi Misato.

Based on the clues from the text message and photo, Toho Hiroshi used Kamui to perform space-time teleportation for precise positioning. The four of them arrived at an abandoned guesthouse by a remote coast at almost the fastest speed possible.

Inside the dilapidated wooden building, they quickly found Kuroi Misato, who was tied up.

However, to everyone's surprise, the people guarding her were not powerful Curse Users or Cursed Spirits, but rather a few hoodlums who looked like thugs, holding ordinary clubs and knives, and even bearing some marks of low-level Star Plasma Cult believers.

These ordinary people clearly didn't expect anyone to find this place so quickly, and certainly didn't expect such terrifying figures to arrive. They didn't even have time to make any decent threats or put up a resistance—

"Ha? What is this? Is that it?"

Gojo Satoru's face was written with the word "disappointment." He couldn't even be bothered to use his Cursed Technique, simply flashing his figure.

After a few dull thuds, those thugs were already lying on the ground in various strange poses, rolling their eyes and passing out completely.

The whole process was so fast that Kuroi Misato hadn't even fully reacted yet.

"Geez, I got all excited for nothing."

Gojo Satoru shook his hand in disgust, as if he had touched something dirty.

Geto Suguru stepped forward and gently untied the ropes for Kuroi Misato, peeling off the tape on her mouth: "It's okay now, Miss Kuroi."

"Young Lady? Why are you here? This is too dangerous."

The moment Kuroi gained her freedom, her first reaction was to look at Amanai Riko with worry.

"Kuroi!"

Amanai Riko rushed over and hugged her tightly, tears welling up again, but this time it was the joy of having her back, "It's so good that you're okay."

Watching the master and servant hugging and crying, as well as the so-called "kidnappers" on the ground who were completely pathetic, Gojo Satoru speechlessly held his forehead: "So... we went to all this trouble just for these idiots brainwashed by the Star Plasma Cult? Could this trap be any more half-hearted?"

Toho Hiroshi scanned the area, using his Sharingan to confirm there were no more hidden traces of Cursed Energy or traps, and said indifferently: "Perhaps it was just a probe in a death struggle, or maybe they're just plain stupid."

Regardless, the threat was neutralized, and in a way that was almost comical.

Since the person had been rescued, and they had already come to sunny Okinawa, watching the expressions of Amanai Riko and Kuroi Misato after their ordeal, and the longing for the blue sea and sky deep in their eyes.

"Hey, I say,"

Gojo Satoru suddenly spoke up with a grin, breaking the touching atmosphere, "Anyway, the mission deadline hasn't arrived yet, and staying in Tokyo is just hanging around, so why not relax here? I haven't been to the beach in a long time."

Geto Suguru looked at the sky, then at Amanai Riko, who was clearly tempted, and smiled slightly: "Seems like a good idea. Let's treat it as a break before the big battle."

Toho Hiroshi did not object, simply nodding.

And so, the originally tense rescue mission instantly turned into an impromptu seaside vacation.
