Chapter 65 - Chapter 64: Gojo Satoru's Fury

Chapter 64: Gojo Satoru's Fury

Catalyzed by extreme self-reproach and agony, secured by the constant foundational repair of the Reverse Cursed Technique, and accumulated Cursed Energy and Dōjutsu Power that had already reached a critical point, Toho Hiroshi's Mangekyo Sharingan finally broke through a new boundary and evolved into the legendary eye.

He blinked his left eye slightly, and the world in his sight became completely different.

The residual Cursed Energy scattered in the air, the texture of the soil beneath his feet, the vitality of the distant trees, and even the aura Mei Mei was trying to completely conceal while hidden in the shadows.

The flow and essence of all energy were presented with unprecedented clarity, as if the rules of the world had been simplified and thoroughly understood before his eyes.

He slowly raised his hand, palm facing up.

He didn't even need to form Hand Signs; he merely had a slight thought.

Buzz—

An invisible yet massive force naturally converged.

Universal Pull?

No, it seemed slightly different, mixed with more complex characteristics belonging to his own Cursed Energy and Dōjutsu Power.

But he could feel that if he wished, he could easily manipulate this power, generating astonishing attraction or repulsion, and even interfering with more things.

Mei Mei slowly stepped out of the shadows. She looked at Toho Hiroshi's brand new left eye, which exuded a godlike, indifferent aura. Her usual lazy smile had vanished, replaced by unprecedented solemnity and shock.

"What is this?"

Her voice carried a dryness she hadn't even noticed. The pressure this eye exerted on her surpassed even the feeling of facing Gojo Satoru's Rikugan / Six Eyes; it was a reverence stemming from a fundamental level of life.

Toho Hiroshi slowly stood up. The Rinnegan in his left eye indifferently swept over Mei Mei, making her instantly feel as if she had fallen into an ice cellar, her soul seemingly seen through.

But he quickly retracted the unintentional pressure radiating from his eye. The circular pattern of his left eye slowly faded, returning to an ordinary black pupil, though if one looked closely, a faint purple ripple seemed to linger in the depths of the black.

"It's nothing."

Toho Hiroshi's voice was slightly hoarse, but it carried an indescribable depth and distance compared to before.

He looked again in the direction Geto Suguru had departed. The circle of faint purple ripples at the bottom of his left eye subtly flowed, seemingly able to penetrate endless space, vaguely sensing that the Yata no Kagami mark still stably existed far away.

The evolution had not erased the previous mark; rather, it seemed to have made the connection clearer and more controllable.

Pain still existed, and self-reproach had not lessened.

The fact that his sworn friend had left could not be changed.

But this newly born Rinnegan, and the immense power contained within it—which he still needed time to fully explore—gave him a new, cold confidence.

He would continue down this path.

He would use these eyes to see the truth of this twisted world clearly.

He would use these eyes to protect everything worth protecting.

He would use these eyes, perhaps one day in the future, to pull his sworn friend, who had walked into a dead end, back from the edge of the endless abyss.

He turned around, no longer looking at the bloody scene behind him, and walked step by step toward Tokyo Jujutsu High.

His figure was solitary yet resolute, and deep within his left eye, the mark of the Rinnegan faintly appeared and disappeared.

Upon returning to Tokyo Jujutsu High, Toho Hiroshi's aura was heavier than when he left, as if an invisible pressure enveloped him, and even light seemed slightly distorted and swallowed when it approached him.

Especially that left eye, which occasionally revealed a faint purple ripple, whenever his gaze swept over someone, it invariably generated a strange chill, making them feel completely seen through, as if their life and death were controlled.

The first to notice the abnormality was Ieiri Shoko / Shoko Ieiri.

In the Infirmary, she was smoking a cigarette and organizing equipment. Toho Hiroshi knocked and entered, silently extending his wrist—although his body was unharmed thanks to the Reverse Cursed Technique after the forced Spatial Transfer and subsequent Dōjutsu Power burst, his Cursed Energy Pathways still had subtle turbulence that needed calming.

As Shoko / Ieiri Shoko's healing Cursed Technique touched his skin, her movement paused slightly.

She looked up, scrutinizing Toho Hiroshi, her brow furrowed: "Where did you go? Your Cursed Energy feels different. And your eyes have changed too."

The feeling was hard to describe; it was no longer just simple power, but an almost inhuman, condescending indifference.

Toho Hiroshi withdrew his hand, his tone flat: "I resolved some matters. It's fine now, thank you."

He turned and left, leaving Shoko / Ieiri Shoko watching his retreating figure, thoughtfully stubbing out her cigarette.

Gojo Satoru's reaction was much more direct.

He rushed into Toho Hiroshi's room like a gust of wind. His Rikugan / Six Eyes scanned him up and down without reservation, his sunglasses sliding down his nose. His usual playful smile was gone: "Hao, you have Geto's Cursed Energy Residue on you, and it's strong. Also... the smell of blood. Did you see him? What happened? How is he?" He fired a string of questions, carrying an imperceptible urgency.

The Rikugan / Six Eyes could catch details but could not see into the heart. Toho Hiroshi's hand, which was wiping the scarlet blade, paused. He looked up at Gojo Satoru, his eyes so profound they made Gojo Satoru feel a hint of unfamiliarity.

"Yes, I saw him."

"Then what? Is he in trouble? I thought he'd been acting strange lately."

Gojo Satoru pressed.

"He defected."

Toho Hiroshi's voice was low and clear, like a piece of ice hitting the ground.

Gojo Satoru's expression instantly froze.

"Defected? What do you mean? Geto, he..."

"He slaughtered an entire village of ordinary people."

Toho Hiroshi interrupted him, every word chillingly cold. "Right in front of me."

The room fell into a deathly silence.

Gojo Satoru looked as if he hadn't understood, or perhaps couldn't comprehend. The Rikugan / Six Eyes behind his sunglasses flashed with disbelief.

A few seconds later, he abruptly grabbed Toho Hiroshi's collar, his voice losing its usual lightness for the first time, filled with anger and anxiety: "What did you say? If you were there, why didn't you stop him! Why did you let him do that? What did you actually do!"

Facing Gojo Satoru's accusation, Toho Hiroshi didn't struggle, merely meeting his gaze calmly with those bottomless eyes. The faint purple tint at the bottom of his left eye imperceptibly flowed for an instant.

"I tried."

His voice remained level.

"But I couldn't convince him.

His 'Great Cause' has gone astray."

"Then knock him out and bring him back! Aren't we the strongest? How could you just let him walk away!"

Gojo Satoru roared, tightening his grip.

"And then what?"

Toho Hiroshi calmly countered, "Bring him back to face judgment from The Higher-Ups? To be executed? Or permanently imprisoned? Is that what he wants, or what you want?"

Gojo Satoru was speechless, his hand gripping the collar trembling slightly. Of course, he knew how The Higher-Ups would treat a Special Grade Sorcerer who massacred ordinary people, even if it was Geto Suguru.

"But... but..."

Gojo Satoru's voice dropped, tinged with confusion and helplessness, "That still doesn't mean..."

"This is the path he chose."

Toho Hiroshi pried Gojo Satoru's hand away and straightened his collar. "Satoru, some hurdles, he must cross himself. No one can stop him, and no one can take his place."

Gojo Satoru stood frozen in place, looking at Toho Hiroshi, as if realizing for the first time that something solid had shattered, and they could never go back.

The news of Geto Suguru's defection and massacre of villagers ultimately could not be concealed, spreading rapidly like a plague within Tokyo Jujutsu High and among The Higher-Ups.
