Chapter 55 - Desynchronization

The rhythm broke.

Completely.

The Prime unit moved—

But not perfectly.

Not anymore.

Aarav saw it.

Every delay.

Every hesitation.

Every small misalignment.

"…You're out of sync," he said quietly.

"…Correction in progress," the unit replied.

But even as it spoke—

Its movement lagged.

Just slightly.

That was enough.

Aarav stepped forward.

Not reacting.

Not following.

Leading.

The unit attacked.

Aarav moved first.

The strike missed.

Clean.

A counter followed.

Direct.

The hit landed.

The Prime unit staggered.

More than before.

"…Error accumulation increasing," it said.

Mira watched closely.

"…You're dominating it."

"…Not yet."

Aarav's voice stayed calm.

"…But it's close."

The air flickered again.

The presence—

Stronger now.

Not just watching.

Aligning.

The Prime unit reacted.

"…External alignment escalating."

Its presence intensified.

Trying to regain control.

Trying to stabilize.

"…You're fighting two things now," Mira said.

"…No."

Aarav stepped forward again.

"…It is."

The unit attacked again.

Faster.

But unstable.

Aarav slipped past it.

Countered.

Another hit landed.

The system flickered violently.

"…That's new," Aarav muttered.

The Prime unit froze.

Just for a moment.

"…Desynchronization detected," it said.

"…Yeah."

A faint smirk appeared.

"…Now you're breaking."

The unit moved again.

More aggressive.

Less controlled.

It wasn't perfect anymore.

It was—

Forcing itself.

Aarav stepped forward.

Each movement—

Cleaner.

Sharper.

More certain.

He didn't wait.

Didn't hesitate.

He attacked.

Strike.

Shift.

Counter.

Each one landing.

Each one pushing it back.

Mira's eyes widened.

"…This is different."

"…Yeah."

Aarav's gaze sharpened.

"…Because now I'm not reacting."

A pause.

"…I'm deciding."

The Prime unit's form flickered.

Unstable.

Its presence—

Breaking.

"…Correction failing," it said.

The air pulsed again.

Stronger.

Closer.

For a moment—

The distortion became visible.

A faint outline.

Something—

Watching.

"…You see it too," Aarav said quietly.

The air responded.

A slight shift.

"…Then stay with me."

The Prime unit reacted violently.

"…External interference critical."

"…Override required."

Its presence surged.

Everything tightened.

The air—

The space—

The system—

All forcing control.

But this time—

It didn't work.

Aarav stepped forward.

Through it.

Past it.

The final clash began.

The unit struck.

Aarav moved.

Perfectly.

Not by system.

Not by pattern.

By understanding.

He closed the distance.

And struck.

A direct hit.

The Prime unit froze.

Its form cracked.

Visible.

Unstable.

"…You're done," Aarav said quietly.

The unit tried to respond.

"…Correction—"

It failed.

The system flickered violently.

And for the first time—

The system—

Was losing.
